2.0.0 Update!

Many changes coinciding with the 2.0 Watcher release! :)

Content

* Gold Rush is no more. Instead, Minter's Hammer joins the Hierophant's repertoire. This Rare card offers a pretty powerful damage option related to doubloons, and interacts with them in a novel way.

QOL

* All cards that mention Doubloons now preview them in the UI.
* Encroach shows agolden border when its condition holds.
* Several descriptions have been improved.

Bugfixes

* Fixed Mercenaries doing less damage than it should when you have more than 2 energy. This should make Mercenaries a lot more viable, especially when it comes to combining it with Doubloons.
* Fixed Chorus giving the wrong amount of Fervor.
* Fixed Exaltation's weird "empty buffs" bug.

Balance

* Anathema now deals 2 times your Piety in damage, down from 3.
* Doubloon hoard values have been decreased. Doubloon support has been increasing, which makes them less of a one-dimensional resource and puts less emphasis on their individual value as a card. After this update, adding a doubloon will not always be the right choice, but it will be the right choice in many circumstances.

1.6.0 Balance update

Some minor changes to put the finishing touches to recent rebalance:
* Doubloon hoard values up to 12/16 (to compensate for the gold lost when played).
* Cursed gold costs 0 (since it's not necessarily 100% positive anymore).
* Hammer and Anvil buffed from 8/12 to 10/15.
* Clarified some card descriptions (e.g. mercenaries, flaming chariot).

1.5.0, more rebalance!

Today, another batch of balance changes, this time mostly around Doubloons. Doubloons have been reworked to spend gold when used (unupgraded), compensated with stronger Gilded cards overall. The idea is for players to be mindful of doubloon proportions rather than add every single Gilded + doubloon card they're offered, while making the Doubloon upgrade a lot more relevant.

Bugfixes
* Fixed upgraded Levitation not exhausting.

Balance
* Doubloon: Unupgraded doubloon now spends 4 gold when used.
* Upgraded doubloon causes no gold loss, but hoard value reduced from 16 to 12.
* Charity values increased from 4/6 to 5/8
* Dazzle block and extra block increased.
* Generosity cost decreased by 1.
* Levitation rarity changed from Uncommon to Rare.
* Punish upgrade deals 10 damage, down from 12.
* Remorse base and bonus damage increased.
* Rusty Crate hoard value increased.

Big 1.4.0 rebalance and fix update!

I'm happy to revisit the Hierophant with a few significant bugfixes and balance changes:

Bugfixes
* Fixed a bug where bosses defeated through Piety would not trigger boss victory logic (music changes, score, etc).
* Fixed the Darklings fight again (hopefully once and for all).

Balance
* Cornucopia doubloon amounts increased from X to X+1.
* Faith Healing now also exhausts Curses.
* Alms reworked: Costs 0 and exhausts always, upgrade now avoids discarding your hand.
* Auric Shield: Now costs gold equal to the amount blocked.
* Batter: Reduced damage to 11/16 from 13/20.
* Death Knell: Now always takes 2 turns to trigger. Upgrade now increases Fervor amount.
* Endure: Increased piety gain from 2/3 to 3/5.
* Hammer and Anvil reworked: Now gains flat Fervor, doubled if the enemy had block. Stronger at lower block levels but doesn't scale in such a crazy way.
* Levitation reworked: Now always exhausts. Upgrade grants 2 Intangible but has increased cost!
* Repressed Violence: Base damage decreased to 1. This should slow down its insane growth so it's not always an instant pick.
* Shelter: Block reduced to 8/12 from 10/15.
* Auric Form: Now grants Piety AND Fervor. Should be much stronger and differentiated from Glossolalia.
