2.7 - Pool Party Rework #2

Pool Party now makes Neutral Air much more similar to Orcane's - and now that it changes the move so much, it is now an Achievement Item.


GAMEPLAY

Neutral Air
- Knockback adjusted: 5+.5 > 6+.4
- Added 5 frame hit lockout (like Orcane nair)
- Set all hitboxes to the same hitbox group (shouldn't have any effect on normal gameplay, should fix instances of nair being able to multi-hit certain bosses and maybe other game entities)

Forward Strong
- Hit1 hitpause adjusted: 3.0+0.5 > 6.0+0
- Infernal hit1 hitpause adjusted: 5.0+0.7 > 7.0+0

Down Special
- Now has a 5 frame endlag window


ITEMS

Registration Badge (all variants)
- No longer adds extra hitpause to hit 1

Pool Party
- No longer appears in standard item pool, must now be unlocked.
- Unlock Method: Hit an opponent with Neutral Air two times in quick succession.


ACHIEVEMENT ITEMS

Pool Party
- Neutral Air can now hit an opponent again after bouncing (like Orcane)
- Now decreases Neutral Air's damage by 1 (6 > 5).
- Now increases Neutral Air's startup by 1 (active on frame 5 > 6).
- Now gives Neutral Air a sex kick effect (knockback decays over active duration, ending at 3+.4)
- Hitbox size greatly increased - now matches the beach ball graphic instead of following the handle.

2.5.1 - Hotfix

GAMEPLAY

Neutral Special
- Removed handle hurtbox from the active suplex portion of the move.
This shouldn't make any difference in a 1v1 match, it just makes the Suitplex less likely to be interrupted in a match against more than 1 opponent.

Side Special
- Drift Slam hitbox now comes out 1 frame sooner


BUG FIXES

- Fixed a visual offset bug with Mr. Embers' Golden Forward Tilt
- Re-wrote Practice Mode XP toggle code so that it should no longer show up as an option on certain scripted stages outside of training mode.
- Fixed a bug where Game-Breaking Glitch's Super Secret Variant wasn't showing up under the expected conditions

2.5 - Booster Pack 2

NEW CONTENT

This update adds 9 new items to the item pool, including...
- 3 new Variants of Registration Badge, appearing under different circumstances and with slightly different effects.
- 4 new Achievement Items, each with its own new unlock method. Two of them push existing Items to greater heights and require those items be unlocked already.
- 1 new Breakfast Item which may occasionally appear instead of Ordinary Carrots, and is apparently quite healthy.
- 1 SUPER SECRET Variant of Game-Breaking Glitch, appearing only under very unique circumstances (differences in Item appearance and effects are purely cosmetic)


GAMEPLAY

Side Special
- Standard hitbox width reduced: 62 > 58px
- Standard hitbox height reduced: 20 > 28px
- Standard hitbox pulled inward to remove front-facing disjoint (more in line with similar burst movement options like Etalus Dash Attack, Maypul Side Special)
Goal: Should be more susceptible to projectiles

Forward Tilt
- Startup increased: 11 > 12 (reverted change from previous patch)
- Hitbox is now a circle instead of the same shape as the sprite
- Now has extended parry stun

Down Tilt
- Hitbox width increased: 94 > 96px (to match new visual)

Down Air
- Hit 3 Knockback adjusted: 4+.7 > 6+.5
- Hit 3 angle flipper removed.
Goal: KB adjustment for better flow. Removing the angle flipper is an experimental change, keeping an eye on this one

Forward Strong
- Adjusted Hit 2 Angle: 361 > 45
Context: Since hit 1 pops the opponent up, it was almost always angle 45 anyway

Up Strong
- Adjusted multihit properties to reduce instances of opponents falling out of the move

Misc
- Hurtboxes adjusted for: Down Tilt, Back Air, Up Air, Up Tilt, Down Strong (most of these to match new animations)


ITEMS - UPDATES

Game-Breaking Glitch
- Waveland Speed Multiplier: +.15 > +.10
- Waveland Friction: No effect > Reduces by .005
Context: Waveland friction modifier removed in patch 1.1. Since then, there are a few cases when this Item has little impact on wavelanding. These tweaks should be hardly noticeable in most cases.

Pocket Cactus
- Initial Dash: No effect > Increases by .1
Context: (intentionally low-value easter egg buff) Cactus now marginally improves Suitcase's Cactuar Dash :D

Boarding Pass
- Pratland Time: Reduces by 2 > No effect
- Now increases height gained after finishing hit of Down Air.
Context: Cementing identity as the "boost to moves that make you go up" item

Registration Badge (all variants)
- Now grants Forward Strong hit1 increased hitpause.
- Modifiers from this Item now stack with modifiers from Infernal Forward Strong. (previously overridden)

Champion Belt
- Renamed (from Champ Belt)
- Damage and Knockback modifiers from this Item now stack with modifiers from Infernal Up Strong. (previously overridden)


ACHIEVEMENT ITEMS - UPDATES

:pandora: Prototype MK-7
- Infernal FStrong hit 2 damage reduced: 15 > 12

REFINEMENT

- The following animations have been tweaked to varying degrees: Down Tilt, Back Air (normal and Cactus-enhanced), Up Air, Double Jump, Land, Down Special's Item & Achievement Item HUD
- Up Air now raises player arrow while active
- Early Access alt now has a unique intro animation
- Outlines are now properly recolored on the Results Screen for the Golden alt


BUG FIXES

- Mint Toothpaste no longer affects knockback of the bottom hitbox of Up Tilt's finishing hit, fixing a rare interaction when hitting an opponent below you
- When hitting an opponent with Up Tilt's finishing hit with Mint Toothpaste equipped, ice visuals & sfx will now always/only play when an opponent has successfully been frozen.
- Fixed a bug which allowed Godhead to appear in Training Mode.


AI

The CPU can now...
- Use the 2nd part of Up Tilt
- Buy an item during respawn invincibility if able
- Buy an item after KOing an opponent if able
- Utilize Side Special when recovering
- Attempt basic parry punishes at close range
- Look for an opportunity to taunt once a game to unlock an Achievement Item (Creator's Curse)

WORKSHOP SUPPORT

- Added Title support for the Mt. Dedede Stadium stage by Smiley and hyuponia

2.4 - The Side Special Hotfix

Patch 2.5 has been in the works for a while now. 2.5 could be called the "Booster Pack 2" update, as it introduces some new Items and Achievements, revisits a couple older ones, and brings with it a slew of balance tweaks and Boss Room functionality.

I wasn't planning on another update until then, but an over-tuned Side Special and a pretty significant bug with Godhead in the ditto call for swift resolution. While I'm at it, I've decided to front-load some of 2.5's content and experimental balance tweaks into this hotfix.

GAMEPLAY

- Neutral Special
Knockback adjusted: 7+.9 > 6+1.1

- Side Special
Initial horizontal speed decreased: 16 > 15
Begins moving forward after 13 > 16 frames
Hitbox now comes out 3 frames sooner after moving forward (still frame 20)
Cooldown increased: 35 > 60 frames
Goal: Make Side Special more committal

- Neutral Air
Base Knockback increased: 4+.5 > 5+.5
Goal: More interesting interactions at low %

- Jab
Angle adjusted: 75 > 80

COMPATIBILITY

- Added a check to prevent starting items/achievements from repeatedly applying. This was only an issue for the Seasonal/Katie/Golden alts, occurring on certain scripted Workshop stages that kept the player in the spawn state for an extended time.
- Dracula Boss dialogue support added.
- Boss Room XP Stimulus added for the following stages (XP will be gained slowly over time to compensate for bosses not registering hit effects):

2.2 - The Up Tilt Patch

Small patch with a big change to Suitcase's signature move, Up Tilt. Interactions with Kirby and Trummel & Alto should be fixed. Dair multihit properties improved.

GAMEPLAY

- Up Tilt
The second hit now comes out by holding the input or pressing attack again. Meaning you can now just use the first part of the move as a quick anti-air. It works great as a general combo starter/extender since it doesn't send them very far. Please give it a try, see what you can do with the single hit, and get used to holding the attack button (or cstick if you use tilt stick) for the finisher!
Hit 1 active window: 6 frames > 4 frames (links better if you land hit1 early)
Hit 1 hitbox width: 20px > 22px
Hit 2 active window: 24 frames > 22 frames
Hit 2 hitbox comes out frame 34 > 32

- Down Air
Added extra hitpause to each hit.
Angle flipper for hits 1 & 2: 6 > 9 (Now pulls in like Absa nair, making it a much more reliable multihit and giving you much better control of where the final hit (non-:creatorscurse: version) sends the opponent)


ITEMS
- Mint Toothpaste
No longer affects knockback of hit1 (6+0 > 5+.15)


BUG FIXES
- Mint Toothpaste: Reverted frozen player state change from PS_TUMBLE back to PS_HITSTUN, this should resolve the visual noise created while the opponent is frozen.
- Kirby Copy Ability and Trummel&Alto Codec should be working again.

2.1 - The Buffcase Update

Follow-up to the Booster Pack Update. Lots of quality-of-life changes, including a training mode feature and some long-awaited gameplay refinement.
Targeted buffs (though generously applied) to help narrow down Suitcase's archetype as a close-range fighter.

FEATURES
- NEW: Training Mode Max XP Toggle
Pressing Taunt & Parry simultaneously will toggle max XP, allowing items to be purchased without doing damage. I would like to make a special upgrade select menu for Training mode, but this will help in the meantime.

(same height as Orcane and Sylvanos, matching the idle sprite better)

v2.0 - The Booster Pack Update

GAMEPLAY

- Neutral Special
XP Crystal moved to Forward Tilt. Neutral Special is now The Suitplex. Who's a "carry-on item" now?

- Side Special
Reworked. Suitcase now surges forward in a taxi. This comes with several mechanics.
1) The dash may be jump-cancelled.
2) Drift Hit: During the dash, inputting the opposite direction or Special while grounded will cause the taxi to drift and turn 180 degrees, producing a powerful slam.
3) Double Jump Refresh: Once per airtime, running the taxi into a wall will refresh your double jump (just like Zetterburn's Down Special), significantly improving Suitcase's recovery options. This is VERY IMPORTANT to know.

- Forward Tilt
The XP crystal replaces old ftilt. It is now a slow multihit projectile. Suitcase will be put into stun when this is parried.

- Down Air
Slight rework. Is now a 3-hit move with a new animation. Reduced landing lag and endlag, so it should feel much less awkward to use now. Dair has a small cooldown in the air (which does reset after landing) to prevent reliably locking opponents into place.

- Back Air
Hit1 window duration increased: 3 > 4 frames to match updated animation

- NEW: Achievements
There are now 6 items which will only appear in the item pool after certain requirements have been met. Can you find them all? (unlock methods will be listed in the character discord in a couple days)


PROPERTIES
- Gravity reduced: .65 > .63
- Fall Speed reduced: 11 > 10
- Fast Fall Speed reduced: 16 > 15
- Max Horizontal Jump Speed increased: 5 > 6

Is now an Achievement Item.
The finishing hit of Dair will now always be "Sandbert dair" regardless of if the previous hits were landed.
