Peloponnesian War 5 Year Anniversary Edition (7.0) Update Notes

A full 5 years have passed since this mod was created. Hundreds of pages and thousands of updates have been made in the workshop alone. During this time, a lot of work has been done, including but not limited to full colorization of unit cards, a new custom UI, new transitions, a new formation system, a fully optimized AI, a new diplomacy system, a new city garrison, and a lot of new customizations and compatibilities involving complex scripts. ......
But the author didn't stop there. In my opinion, the game itself needed to have some special details added in order to allow players to go for a more immersive experience of this high point of the classical era of Ancient Greece.
This goal needs to be reflected in a lot of details and mechanics, and this is the main goal of the major 7.0 update.
Here is a partial list of the features of this update as follows:
Ⅰ National skills have been added for most countries.
1. Country skills are in the form of policy cards in the country skill bar. Because the cards are occupied by the polity, once a country has a country skill, it is no longer able to switch polities. Partly because, in those days, countries also rarely switched polities, it was clearly a better option. On the other hand, since Persia and Epirus do not have a National Skill at the moment, they can switch polities to deal with different forms.
2. There are three types of state skills based on their functions. They are election, custom and stunt.
A. Election: Athens, Argos and Corinth can be elected, so that the two citizens with the highest prestige to become the chief general and consul, respectively, giving military and governance bonuses, most of the bonuses to maintain half a year; Thebes can be elected to the Alliance Chief General, and the other three countries are different from the other three countries, his election can be in the three citizens with the highest prestige by the player to designate a person to choose. More power is centralized in one person while being more controllable (but correspondingly one less person to serve as a deputy). All elected characters maintain power only while leading the army. Once they hand over military power (i.e., return to the capital as a politician in the game), they are automatically considered to be no longer in office, but receive a small buff from the previous consul for life. The period between elections is standardized at one year (12 turns)
B. Customs: Depending on the city-state traits, some city-states will have different custom options. Such as the militarized conservative style of Sparta and the relatively open cultural style of Athens. During a custom event, the player will be able to immerse themselves in the details of the city-state's history, and in most cases receive a small buff. due to the low cost of the custom event and the small interval between events, or even less than the duration of the buff event, the player can perform the city-state custom more frequently to build up the different buff gains.
C. Special Skills: A state skill of a trait nature is an enhanced version of a custom skill. Generally it will cost more money and longer intervals to allow the state to get greater buff gains or other benefits (e.g. Athens and Corinth can send colonial ships, Thracians can then call on the armies of their northern counterparts, Macedonians can get tech quickly, etc.). Longer intervals make it so that players need to take the overall strategic environment into account when using stunts, otherwise they may end up in a situation where they need to activate other skills but are on cooldown.
Ⅱ added a large number of random events.
Random events are categorized into single events, optional events and family history.
2, a single event is a one-time occurrence, completely random events; optional events is an event can be decided by the player to respond to a number of options, each option will also bring different results; family history is the family character (especially the national leader himself other than the "other" characters) of the growth experience. This experience increases or decreases three of the character's stats, as well as gives a chance to get a personal trait (one of the prerequisites is that there is a blank field for the personal trait option).
3, each event is based on the contemporaneous traits of the compilation of story text, and strive to experience the real situation in history;
4. Each event has been designed with history-based pictures based on the actual setting, atmosphere and outcome. These newly added pictures have been heavily accumulated, selected and modified by the author with the help of AI.
5, Some countries and cultures have exclusive events. These events will be able to reflect the cultural qualities of the country in greater depth.
III A large number of other amendments and optimizations. A non-exhaustive list is as follows:
1, Normalize building prices in Persia;
2、Let Sparta exist as a special sub-culture under the Greek culture, in order to facilitate its highlighting of clearly distinctive Spartan characteristics (such as the ability to customize different pictures of the same event, special titles, etc.)
3. Re-designated the picture material for the other original events of the mod;
4, Epirus has the Adaptability trait, which will give its army a combat bonus on different terrains;
5, Epirus can be supplied with Illyrian pirate troops by events. These pirate troops will directly join the Epirus Navy;
6、Many followers have been repainted and their bonuses adjusted;
7. Rebel banners have been repainted;
8. the number of elephants and chariot units in Persia has been reduced;
9. reduced the number of undead troops in Persia but increased their morale;
10, Fixed some 3D model flickering bugs;
11. Re-adjusted many Chinese and English;
12, Optimized the financial situation of some countries to avoid their frequent attrition due to lack of funds;
13、The Athens plague event no longer reduces the political support of other countries;
14. The geography of Corinth, Thebes and Sparta has been customized with more features;
15、Fixed the bug that some clerks did not display their names;
16. redrew the unit cards for Spartan and Athenian generals;
17. Added the accelerated running skill to all light infantry. This makes the troop type more tactically distinctive and useful, especially in case of lack of cavalry or tight military spending;
18. Enhanced all Strategic Vision and Tactical Vision skills, attachments and treasures;
19、Redesigned the level bonuses of Epirus, Thracian and Persian generals;
20. reorganized the UI interface so that certain attendants of the Transaction Officers are no longer invisible;
21. relaxed the criteria for political marriages. Factions can now make political marriages on a case-by-case basis. As an addition, states will get extra women (previously they had to wait for their daughters to reach adulthood, which took too long) for marriages through events;
22. some political behavior stats have been rationalized and corrected;
23. the coats of arms of many units have been redesigned to make them more historically accurate;
