Update for Project Eden 1.4.1:
I did not get as much content into this update as I have hoped due to all the issues I had to fix with the scenarios. I may do another content update next week as well, but definitely feel free to start a new game now.
I believe I have got most of the major problems fixed BUT I am sure something will crop up so please let me know!

Note that a new save game is not required for this update but some of the new stuff may not work properly in an existing game.
Steam has been slow to download workshop updates lately. You may have to restart Steam, your PC, unsub/resub, or just wait. Please wait when starting a new game until the description says "For Empyrion 1.4.1" when you go to start a new game. (preview pic is still old, ignore that).

Full Update Notes:
Solar System and Galaxy:
  • Solar system generation now uses a default generation file. This won't have any change on actual game play but will make it much easier for me to add new playfields to the random generation in the future. 1 file to edit instead of a dozen.
  • Slightly tweaked solar system and galaxy generation.
  • Added a special treat to the Beta starting system as a test.

Missions:
  • Added new 4 part exploration mission to survey different stars in the galaxy. Awarded after completing the Make Contact with Terran Forces mission.
  • Added new step to survey solar system missions to open the PDA to complete the mission to hopefully avoid people losing loot while flying due to a full personal inventory.
  • The mission to turn in all 4 solar system survey reports is now permanetly unlocked as soon as you've placed all 4 reports into your inventory and asks you to visit a UCH Research Vessel to complete it.
    Should help fix becoming locked out of the mission if you declined it or deactivated the mission. Note: if you lose a survey report before obtaining all 4 you'll lose your chance at the extra reward. I will try to work on this.
  • Increased max navigational data that can be turned in from 30 to 50.
  • Updated UCH Research Vessels. Added a new UCH Quartermaster to the hangar that buys or sells recipes, data pads, navigational data, and mission items. Removed the Data Researcher trader from the research vessels as people thought he was the Lead Researcher.
  • Tweaked mission list appearance.

Blocks, Devices, Items:
  • Hydroponics bays: replaced grow lights in crafting recipe with some optical fiber, making it a bit cheaper to craft. Reduced energy cost from 25 to 20.
  • Added 4 variations of survey probes (no custom icons yet) for use in the survey galaxy mission.
  • Added Exploration Data item. No use yet.
  • Added spawnable Human guards for your base. Purchase at a UCH Quartermaster.

Misc:
  • Added scenario version to sectors file. Will get written to the save game so you know which version of the scenario you had started the game on.
  • Updated description text to specify it's for Empyrion 1.4.1. If it does not say "1.4.1" in the description when you go to start a new game then Steam has not downloaded the update yet. (ignore the preview pic, it's old)
  • Probably a few things I forgot.


Update for Reforged Galaxy:
V1.4-71 Changelog:

Minor Update
  • Added new "Missing Cargo" missions.
    If you find an "Undelivered Cargo" in any POI cargo container (low chance) you can take it to a Trade Station's GIN console and hand it in for a reward of 1000 credits, 100 rep to the faction whose cargo it is and 25 Unlock Points.
  • Fixed a weird bug that the Light Shield Generator for SVs was not craftable in any Constructor despite no issues with the settings. I'm still not sure how this fix works, but it does.
  • Changed the Story Mission "Industrial Concern" to hand out cash instead of a bank deposit because it makes better sense and because someone claimed they were getting -5 credits... which isn't even possible.
  • Increased the recharge rate and reduced cooldown of all shield types slightly.
  • Increased shield capacity of all shields slightly. SV received a larger bonus in lieu of the explosive problem plaguing both Reforged and Vanilla (That being that a single CV/BA/POI rocket will destroy most SVs instantly with the new explosion mechanics.)
  • Removed Rep gain from opening container spam caused an exploit.
  • Corrected inconsistencies on block volume on HV/SV Cargo extensions and controllers (Increased volume, reduced mass).
  • Halved mass of all Wing Blocks (Hotfix above)
  • Reduced mass of all HV/SV landing gears to 1/10 mass (Hotfix above)

- Fixed PDA and dialog broken signals on The Dead part 2. I didn't have time to test though.


NOTE about the PDA:
These past few updates I changed the dialog and PDA syntax I used.
The dialog file is automatically updated (or manually if you update it on the server) but the PDA is NOT. This can cause issues with some missions.


Potential fix:
BACK UP YOUR SAVE GAME.
THIS WILL RESET YOUR MISSIONS MOST LIKELY.
Exit Empyrion entirely.

Browse to the workshop folder for Project Eden or Reforged Eden located here:

Go into the scenario's Extras/PDA folder and copy the PDA.yaml and PDA.csv files

Go to your save game folder:
Right click on Empyrion in your Steam Library > Properties > Local Files > Browse
Open up the Saves\Games folder and find the folder for your save game
Paste the PDA.yaml and PDA.csv files into the PDA folder of your save game, overwriting what is already there.

Update for Project Eden:
I plan to do another update around the 12th. Been so busy fixing issues that I hadn't had much time to add much new content yet.
As always, allow time for Steam to download the scenario update to your PC before starting a new game or updating your server.

- Added new modulated pulse lasers for SVs and HVs. They can be unlocked in the tech tree and are expensive to craft.
They are considered heavy weapons and have the damage/mass/cpu of 2 regular pulse lasers, with an additional 25% damage bonus on top.
They consume a lot of power while online.
You can cycle through their frequency with the multitool upgrade or downgrade. Each frequency has different ranges and damage values.
They use custom projectile models to simulate a "beam" weapon so you might notice some graphical oddities, but they are not hit scan.

- Added several new components.
- Added or updated a few icons (Thanks to Vermillion).
- Cut unlock cost of all Progenitor research by 50%.
- Lowered Voidium requirements for Dark Matter by 25%.
The Antimatter Warp Drive will be getting a range nerf in 1.5, but will be able to be upgraded via navigational data.

- Changed all Civilian faction POIs to Colonists.
- Re-enabled default PDA missions not being visible if you didn't start on a default planet.
- Added missing Sigma Zero mission POI to Sigma Zero system.
- Added missing Berries Hydroponics Bay.
- Nerfed shields on Abyssal defense structures. Floating ones now have a 5k shield (down from 25k) and ground ones 10k (down from 25k).
- Added new loot groups to Very Rare and Ultra Rare alien containers and increased max item count of Ultra Rare containers by 1.
This should help give more of the data pads and navigational data in loot containers.


Reforged Eden:
These are changes made specifically for the merger of the two scenarios.

- Replaced default orbital patrol groups with Reforged versions.
- Replaced some default orbital trade stations with Reforged versions.
- Removed light year warp range increase applying to SV warp drives.
- Added old Project Eden blocks to config.ecf to balance them for Reforged Eden.


Update for Reforged Galaxy:
These are previous hotfixes to Reforged Galaxy that are now added to Reforged Eden.

V1.4-70 Changelog:
Reduced explosion radius for devices further.
Increased HP of HV/SV steel blocks by 20%.
Fixed bug with cargo extension weight on HV/SV (should make a huge improvement to cargo HV/SV)
Increased drop chance of Small, Large and Advanced Upgrade Kits from Alien Loot Containers.
Several minor bug fixes and small adjustments.

V1.4-69 Changelog:
Fixed the missing recipes for the new Heavy Turrets not being upgradable for some of the BA turret variants.
Updated Icons for the Small Turret Upgrade Kit and Bomb Launcher to remove the purple lines around the edges.
Compact Shield Generator for CV/BA has a designated constructor now, so it can be made in the Large and Advanced Constructor. Reduced the crafting cost of the device as well, so it uses less Zascosium and Erestrum.
Reduced Blast damage of most CV/BA Devices by 33%.
Reduced Blast damage of most HV/SV Devices by 25%.
Fixed incorrect model designation on the HV retractable heavy minigun turret and BA retractable heavy cannon turret.
Removed leftover vanilla blast calculations for deco blocks and cargo containers, which should speed up blast calculations.
Added missing blast damage to SV Warp Drive.
Reduced shield damage of Interdictor's plasma cannon.

This is a massive update with a 3 part change log. Please read the 3 posts below for full details.

Major update for Project Eden:
This updates Project Eden for Empyrion 1.4.
I am planning on another update around the 12th of February, so if you are thinking of starting a new game you might want to wait until next week.
Reforged Eden will be updated in a few days.

As always, make a backup of your save games.
For single player, simply restart Steam to make sure you get the update.
For servers or local copies of the scenario, you will have to manually update the scenario files.
A new game is NOT required, but some changes and fixes only apply to new games.



General:
Empyrion version 1.4 greatly expands what custom content is allowed in a scenario, increases the block ID limit, and changes how block IDs are assigned.

This update to Project Eden changes all the existing custom Eden blocks over to the new ID ranges, makes a lot of random fixes to the scenario, and adds in some custom POI turrets and devices for some of the NPC factions.
Not all of the new POIs of the default game are being added to the scenario in this update. Next week I have 5 days off work to work on the scenario and will be doing another update then to add in a lot more content.
That would be a better time to start a new game.

You no longer gain additional unlock points by relogging at max level due to a bug fix in Empyrion so I added several new ways of obtaining unlock points, including a repeatable research mission.

Also added new custom assets for use in the scenario.
Custom assets included in the scenario may be covered under one or more third party licenses. Their use or distribution outside of the game is strictly prohibited.
This means you can run the scenario or host it on a server, but you can't unpack and modify the assets for use in your own projects, profit from them, or use them outside the game.


Known Issues:
Game:
- You will have to rediscover all factions again due to game changes in 1.4. Your reputation level will not be reset, it will simply be hidden until you discover a NEW POI belonging to that faction.
- You have to unlock some items in the tech tree again (biofuel, etc).

Scenario:
- The lighting on Hydroponics Bays is a little messed up.
- Not all the new POIs and patrol vessels of 1.4 made it in to Project Eden for this update yet.
- The systems for the default missions might have Kriel or other POIs and patrol vessels when they shouldn't.

Blocks and devices:
- Changed all Project Eden custom blocks to the new block ID format for block IDs 2048+.
- Kept old IDs in use for old versions of all Project Eden blocks for save game and blueprint compatability.
IMPORTANT: Replace any Project Eden blocks you're using in your blueprints with the new versions as soon as possible. They will be removed in a future update and this will remove them from your blueprints and save games.
- Added a warning about replacing old blocks to the tooltips of old blocks. You can now pick them up with a multitool to obtain the new versions of them, or use the itemmenu or console commands to give yourself the new blocks.
- Started adding new items in item ID range 3000-3499. If you want to add your own custom items and keep them compatible with Project Eden, please avoid those ID ranges as well as IDs 1700-1899.
- Added new Eden Alien Blocks group for creative mode that contains a bunch of the default and Eden blocks for use on POIs.


Progenitor Tech:
- Updated Object 1, 13, 42, and 276 to fix unclear puzzles and redesign the switches.
- Added progenitor technology fragments to more POIs in Decay.
- Added Voidium to a few more planet and moon types and set it so they always have at least 1 instead of 0-1.
- Updated data caches with randomized loot. Should give more data chips overall.
These changes should make obtaining Progenitor tech less of a grind, but it's still not meant to be easy or quick. These are extreme end game items meant to be very difficult to obtain.
I'll be adding more to this whole system later, possibly even redesign it, so don't think that the current balance will stay.
Don't forget on servers you can specify whether translation keys get used up or not.



Factions:
- Corrupted ships have powerful new disruptor turrets. Updated the Corrupted Trio encounter with more powerful shields on the Banshee and Synkentrosis. Updated the Corrupted Xenuan Carrier with more powerful shields and more Distruptor Turrets.
- Added reinforced cargo containers to Corrupted Encounters that are filled with loot.
- The Syndicate have developed new blaster turrets that deal moderate damage to both hull and shields.
- ASC has added new defense turrets to The Black Fleet.
- Added new reinforced cargo containers to Drone faction ships. These should be more likely to survive a battle so you get at least some loot.
- Set despawn time of Drone Swarmers loot to the default 2 minutes and gave them a chance of dropping salvaged processors.
- Updated Drone Nests, Drone Assemblers, and Drone Controllers/Mothers and set them all to the Drone faction.
- Added ore and light defense turrets to Polaris UIM Mining Fleets. Updated cargo boxes.


Missions:
You no longer get additional unlock points from restarting the game (default game change) so I'm adding more ways to get unlock points.
- Added unlock points as a reward to many missions.
- Added repeatable mission to perform research at a UCH Research Vessel to gain unlock points (Research group of the Solo tab in the PDA).
- Added extra rewards to some missions.

- Changed default mission systems to use fixed names and sectors. You can now search for them on the galaxy map. (for example search for High Security, Sigma Zero, etc). All mission POIs should now always spawn within those systems.


Misc:
- Adjusted docking arrows on UCH Research Ships so they don't clip into the floor.
- Added a few more custom icons.
- Updated Lost Colony LCD screens and reduced some of the loot. (It was too good for how easy it was to complete. LCD screens will be replaced with dialog in the future).
- Added decals to the Crashed Prison Transport on the Rogue starters.
- Minor updates to Lost Colony Ship. Changed player sentry to alien sentry and updated some of the LCDs and added decals.
- Updated orbital Polaris Refinery. Removed customer service NPC since you can now buy bulk ore with a connected inventory.
- Fixed incorrect marker for Lead Researcher on some UCH Research Ships.
- Fixed incorrect description on Stamina Nanite Injector.
- Changed Magmacite into a proper ore. Now has a small chance of giving extra goodies. :D
- Added more loot to some POIs that were lacking in loot.
- Fixed cyborg loot in Black Pyramid.
- Removed secondary fire mode from Super Shotgun because it would teleport your shotgun shells to Doomguy if you held down right click.
- Updated effects on the Andromeda-Decay Ancient Warp Gate.
- Removed bugged Pentaxid Crystals on Crystaline Moons. No more infinite Pentaxid.
- Moved the Andromeda and Decay warp gates further apart to allow for greater warp ranges without breaking the mission. They are now 201LY apart so a warp range of up to 200ly is safe.

- Added Hydroponics Bays for all vanilla crops. A single block that acts like a 3x3 plot of sprouts you can harvest at once for convenience. Unlock in the tech tree under Capital Vessel/Base.
- Added data pads to some custom loot tables and increased the chances of them dropping.
- Added navigational data that can be turned in at research computers on UCH research vessels to increase your maximum warp range. You can find them as rare or ultra rare loot or as a reward from some missions.
- Probably a bunch of other misc changes I had forgot.

Note from Ravien:
Only the default planets and default starting planet orbits will have Reforged POIs for now. All Eden planets and other space playfields won't have the new Reforged POIs yet.

Reforged Galaxy V1.4-68 Changelog:
MASSIVE UPDATE. Will require a fresh game.

It's finally here. The 1.4 update of Reforged Galaxy (and soon to be Reforged Eden as well) for 1.4 that adds a huge amount of content, removes exploits and introduces a small problem for players.
You'll need to update your old BPs and replace the quantums and other Reforged blocks with their new versions. In survival you'll be able to retrieve a block with the Multitool and it will give you the new version, which you can place back down.

Now, onto the changelog...
Added two new Story Missions that follow on after "The Cruel Stars" that you'll know as "Offworld Grave" and the new "Hostile Apparatus".
First implementation of the Karma system. Your actions when choosing dialogue in missions and NPC dialogue will affect your standing in the galaxy and change how other NPCs will react to you.
Extremes of Heroism or Renegade will also open up new options of dialogue to produce different results (WIP).
The new Nutrition System. Eating a variety of food types (Fruits, Vegetables, Grain and Protein) will provide dietary bonuses that increase your movement speed, stamina regeneration, health recovery or reduce the rate your hunger goes down depending on what combination of foods you eat (Emergency Rations and Energy Bars do NOT give any nutrition bonuses).
These bonuses are not visibly displayed. You can only watch your stats and hope you're healthy.
New Long-Ranged Detector: Available for SV and CV, the long-ranged detector will detect far further than the regular detector, but only display the results for 5 seconds. RMB will ping it as the regular detector, but will show detected objects for twice as long.
New Heavy Turrets: These new Tier 2 Turrets combine the CPU, firepower, armor and durability of two normal turrets into a single turret allowing your smaller ships to pack the firepower of larger ships without needing to be massive. These are available for CV, BA, HV and SV in normal and retractable versions.
New Heavy Weapons for HV/SV: Currently only includes the Heavy Gatling and Heavy Pulse Laser. Like the Heavy Turrets, they pack the firepower of two normal gatlings/pulse lasers into the space of one.
New Tech Tree Branch: The "System Upgrade" tree is used to unlock the new Ammunitions for the new weapons as well as the weapons themselves. Upgrading to heavy weapons requires an Upgrade Kit, which are found in Rare, Very Rare, Ultra Rare loot containers and some traders.
Hundreds of new POIs: Yes, I updated and added hundreds of POIs to replace most of the game's default ones. No more Toveras that don't have Quantum CPU Extenders or POIs with their weapons off because someone at eleon broke the POI when adding a trader to it.
Many military POIs will now be shielded, but usually with very weak shields. (see below)
New shield systems: More shield generators are available to the player, cheaper and earlier. The lowest tier of shield generators can be made without zascosium and erestrum, but won't hold up to much punishment.
The new shield mechanics will stop minigun, cannon and rockets very effectively, but buckle from energy weapons. Those missile POIs won't be able to harm a well-shielded ship, but if you lose that shield and take a hit...
Rebalanced the flight model for SVs: SVs are now lighter than they were, with thrust adjusted to compensate with a bonus. You'll find SVs to be much more maneuverable now and able to lift higher weights.
Larger stack sizes: Stack sizes for components and ammunition has been doubled, depending on object's size.
Industrial Mechanical Drill for CV: Available earlier than the laser drill, the Industrial Drill is a big asteroid-eating monster of a device. It's also extremely heavy, so keep an eye on your weight.
Improved explosions: So you don't just explode instantly. Explosions were reduced in size (for the most part), damage reduced and the HP of key devices like generators and fuel tanks was increased.
Increased the amount of power provided by HV/SV Generators slightly.
Added Heavy Turrets for the AI: You didn't think it would be that easy did you? No, the AI get T2 turrets too. These are loaded onto the updated and new POIs and ships where relevant.
No more Windows in loot containers. I found them and killed them. Added Linux instead.
Rebalanced loot chances and drops: Won't get as much junk in ultra rare loot containers.
Changed all playfields and POI generation: Needed to accommodate the new POIs, but also included new troop spawns, ore and enemy distribution.
A Forest of Stars mission will correctly spawn Ki'eve and the Zirax Soldiers.
Replaced the Pirates on Relay 451 in "The Cruel Stars" mission with new, weaker pirates (Pirate Thug).
Reduced the number of Interceptors and Interdictors in the starting orbit (less than vanilla)
Covered the Zirax Homeworld in POIs.
Changed the application of status effects by enemies and their treatments slightly. (less burns and parasites, more poison and infection)
Disruptor Cannons obtained from Legacy Quantum boxes can now be picked up with the multitool. POI-spawned Disruptor Cannons and Shockwave emitters will give Disruptor Charges when retrieved instead.
There's more, but it's late and i'm tired and i've been working on this update for over 4 weeks straight and it took a week longer than it was meant to.

Hotfix:
- Temporarily fixed a CoQ loop in the Sphere Access 1 playfield by adding a freighter.

If you want to fix your existing save games in single player or on your server, you can copy the new playfield.yaml in EdenSpaceProg_DysonAccess1 from the Playfields folder of the scenario and overwrite the playfield.yaml in the Templates/Sphere Access 1 folder of your save game.

See the Project Eden Configuration Guide on where to find the scenario data. Only do this if you are confident with copying files and configuring scenarios. If you don't want to bother, then just don't warp to the Sphere Access 1 system, or wait to see if the bug will be fixed in the game.

A reminder to servers to please check for updates to the scenario whenever there is an update to Empyrion. You need to manually update the scenario on your server otherwise it can cause issues.

Small update/hotfix
Adjusted flak turret's effectiveness since something in the recent hotfix by eleon has affected their damage.
Bread is craftable in the portable constructor.
Added new localization entries for the CV/BA cargo containers and pallets.
Updated Kenex Station with some fixes and temporary dialogue.
Fixed the traders that were broken by 1.3.
Fixed SS exploit with legacy turrets. (Hotfix)
Combat Steel can be upgraded/downgraded to/from Xenosteel with the Multitool.

Hid Christmas Trees in certain containers.

Halved the damage of Zirax Rockets vs the player. You'll probably still die though. Don't get shot in the face with a rocket.
