Update 0.6:

1. Updated the balancing again to get the Federation on par with the last changes in Goliath.

2. The Gorn Alliance has offered their services to the Federation. The powerful Grendel Airspace Denial Behemoth could be at your disposal in exchange for first meat-rights to all pilots that it downs!

I haven’t added the lizard voices for it yet because I’m on vacation and I forgot to bring my microphone. oops. I also want to try to set up the voices differently, because the game doesn’t always execute the scripts right. Usually it’s not that bad, but I was playing a game and finally got the mighty Ambassador Dreadnaught built, but instead of Picard as the voice, it was playing the hillbilly miners from the Kushan Heavy Destroyer. lol

3. I had to get rid of the cool Star Trek fonts because they weren’t always being displayed right after the new Homeworld update.

4. The slot specific resource injections from Goliath are available here now too because I use them all the time.

I’m gonna play a few games to check the balancing, and then update this again in about two weeks. So, if anybody has some input on gameplay, this would be a good time to let me know, because I’m pretty sure the mod is gonna be done for good after the next update.

I think the balancing is pretty good now!

I saw that I never made a change list for 0.4, so I'll try to list all the changes since 0.3 in this one when I get a chance.

Update 0.3:

1- Compatibility with Goliath 5.0. The ships should all target each other correctly now.

2- Voices for individual ships! The Klingons sound like Klingons etc. Picard and Kirk are in there. This was seriously a GIANT pain in the rump roast, but now I know how it goes. There are some new voices in the Homeworld ships too. Check out the change notes from Golitah.

3- The memory usage is more optimized, so the random race settings are back in! I can run all 5 races on 'Texture Size Limit' 1024 (the second to the last setting). Which okay, still kind of sucks, but it a lot better than the very lowest one! ;-) I don't think I can improve it anymore, so I guess we have to accept this ancient game for what it is. Or just choose less races and you can turn the graphics settings up.

4- Centaurs turn a little faster so they're less crappy.

5- Costs are somewhat lower for the Star Trek ships.

6- Fixed a bunch of little bugs.

The balancing still isn't quite right yet, so I think I'll work on that next. And the Gorn treaty is on the way if we can ever get the capture function to work, or maybe it will end up a really slow anti-strike craft fortress thingy. Might be okay too, I guess.

CRUD - I just saw that the Gorn treaty is still in there from testing - don't use it. The ship doesn't work yet. I'll take it out in a little bit, but I want to get a little more balacing doine before the next update.

Update 0.2:

So, I probably should have written the description right away, cuz now it's a few weeks later and I'm probably gonna forget some stuff. Oh well!

1- Pretty much all of the changes in Goliath 4.9 made it into this mod too, but I won't list them here again. Check out the boss-fight options in the research grants though!

2- The Retro-Repulsing Phasers of the Ambassador Dreadnaught don't fire as often, but therefore it has a full complement of normal phasers.

3- Capital ships have anti-strike craft phasers.

4- The Spectres hover around targets to really let them have it, but therefore they're a lot easier to kill now.

5- The Greta Class Recycling Jitney has been added so that the Federation has somewhere to bring salvage.

6- The range on the Bird of Prey torpedoes is way lower because it was freaking ridiculous.

7- The Pulsed Phasers (the Start Trek machine guns on planes and stuff) do less damage to corvettes.

8- Changed a bunch of descriptions and stuff like that.

9- The Federation AI has been tweaked to fight better.

I noticed that if you start a mission and the textures are messed up because there are too many races in one game, sometimes you can restart the mission and then it finishes loading everything ok. You can do the same thing by saving the game and loading it again. Sometimes I can get the Feds and 3 HW races in a game with the max graphic settings, but not every time. I'll still totally look for the memory problem so we can put the random race selection back in.

If you're playing the Federation, you can't save skirmishes. Well, you can save them, but you won't be able to load them. =D The other races work. I'll have a look at what's going on there. I bet I can find it, but first priority is getting the memory issue sorted out so all the races can play at the same time in high-resolution.
