Ok, No more shieldwall. We have better than the generic shieldwall now. Its called Centuria Formation. Of course barbarian shieldwall will never look like this one since scutum makes it look perfect. This new formation is tight, men don't rush into enemy lines like Pullon in HBO Rome "Pullo get back into formation.....Pullooo"

notes: make sure you toogle off that fire at will botton. I do it at the begining of the game since i don't use it. Even without fire at will, as long as you are in range stance when you cick on an enemy it will throw pila. Thats what i do then toogle melee on and charge. I love this animation when its in melee and no fire at will so make sure its off befor you form Centuria formation and engage in melee.

this formation was brought to you by Moon Hoplite. I addapted it to our arsenal and reworked its stats.

Pilum updates:

1) Ok, I first created the pilum effect (damage shield, formations etc) borrowing the "weapon poison effect". So teh downside is that bows and siege weapons that use that effect will be affected by my changes. In other words it used to work as a pilum. Now i was able to create a new "pilum effect" from scratch so poison effect for those other weapons are back to vanilla.
2) As suggested by some of you subscribers, the effect of the pilum is no longer permanent. It is supposed to break formation damage some shields (probably of those enemies that will die in the first close combat. So Pilum effect time is reduced. It will still give you enought time to engage that affected unit. but after a while that effect playes no role in the close combat.

the fire at will came with other stats for rom inf so i put them back to vanilla.

Now we can change some formations even in enemy proximity. Beware, some of this formations, like square, are accessible to other factions as well.

awesome update. I have added tooltip new descriptions to every formation that not only tell you what they are good for but what also warns not to use it in certain scenarios and suggests what other formations are more suitable.
just move the mouse over the formation icons and they will tell you when to use and when not to use.

Guys, Hollow square changed in favor of "square formation". Its way better, can form quicker, lines aren't so thin and if you are in the middle you can still drink some posca if your centurion isn't looking. lol

Update: 15 Feb, 2014 @ 12:45pm

ok,
1) Added a fire at will i found in a minimod by The Dude, made it compatible with mine and the good thing is it does nothing to other factions or barbarians. So this time no "fire removed from other factions" nor "barbarians acting like romans"
also, in the other fire at will, (to make it work, they had to change the pilum for a jav, this time is a real pilum, see graphics)
2) Added Akuru Centurion back.

--- New ability for centurion:
("For Rome" Centurion Battlecry that boost the morale of his men.)

the icon for the "For Rome" battlecry is the helmet of a centurion.

--- "Rank Rotation" ability reworked, now its super cool, you can actually see a centuria geting tired and then they refresh.
