    Update 2023-11-13:

Faction Changes:
Description:
Hello! it's been a while since I've done something with this mod!
Got a weird spurt to play around with EP, so here we are!

Sima Liong should be a defensive high risk high reward who is unpopular against pretty much everyone.
His close imperial ties and his uniques should make him valuable in defense, but his lack on interest in the eyes of the other princes should stall him early on to midgame.
  • Sima Liong's unique imperial units now have the "Imperial Solidarity" ability.
  • Sima Liong's unique imperial units says that they have "Imperial Solidarity" on frontend.
  • Sima Liong's imperial units factionwide damage buffs also come with a bad. -10 diplomatic relations with major princes as a result of having stronger uniques.
  • Sima Liong's juristiction diplomatic penalties has been worsened at the two first stages. Making early game harder as a result of having stronger uniques. (from -10 to -20, from -5 to -10)

Sima Jiong is a weird one to play.
Control SHOULD be easier to get from actions which demand control, since it's so easy to lose a ton of control by just having busy court positions.
This needs to be tweaked, for the AI and player's sake.
  • Sima Jiong's control gain from victories has increased from +4 to +10.
  • Sima Jiong's control loss from defeats has increased from -8 to -20. (too many times do you see a gain in control even thought you lost)
  • Sima Jiong's control gain from enemy casualties increased from +0.015 to +0.019. Control loss from own casualties reduced from -0.015 to --0.019
  • Sima Jiong's control gain and losses from occupation options has been altered a bit. First, you now gain more control from asserting dominance than you lose from subduing population. Additionally, subduing and asseting dominance has an initial loss and gain number based on if it is a major or minor settlement, plus a conversion number based on population. This makes meaningless numbers like +1 or +3, -1 or -3 control gains and losses a thing of the past.

Sima Lun is really cool and all, but I felt I was rather harsh and uncordinated with his edits.
Here are some new cool changes and restoration of raider attribute for raiding stance.
  • Sima Lun gains upgraded stance variant of "Stance: Abmush", now "Stance: Devious Hidden Hideout". Increasing ambush chance and enables replenishment in foreign territory.
  • Sima Lun's raiding stance applies raider attribute again. Sima Lun doesn't nessecarily need it himself to apply raider, since it's tied to his first personal skill.
  • Sima Lun's raiding stance no longer requires requires 25% campaign movement to adopt.
  • Sima Lun's raiding stance has more information on the frontend.

Sima Ai has a reported bug that occurs occassionally on campaign start. Sometimes it removed the early game mission in favour for the prince rank mission. Which I found really odd.
But I had to make some crude workaround, but it makes the rewards appear at least.
  • Sima Ai's start has been slightly changed. Due to a weird bug that caused Sima Ai to lose his starting missions because he achieves Prince rank too early, I have made it so he will turn into prince rank after he occupies first settlement.
The mission should be defined cleared on turn 2 or 3 and turn 3 or 4 should apply the following mission to occupy luoyang.

Sima Yue has gotten some minor tweaks. Looks much better when playing him.
  • Sima Yue's start has been changed for the player. No longer does the player get the +100 influence from an ugly effect bundle, but instead gets it from the first mission reward. (AI still has the bundle to get the same reward as the player.)
  • Sima Yue's unique building rewards with stronger food bonus income. (up to 40% instead of 25%)

Sima Ying is arguably the most OP of the factions and doesn't need anything really.
However, I will just change the numbers for his building bonuses.
  • Sima Ying's unique building rewards with stronger peasantry income bonus. (from +15% to +25%)

Sima Wei is in a really good position, however razing is really powerful and I think in this timeline it should be really unpopular.
Razing is still super powerful as it skyrockets your fury.
  • Sima Wei's razing settlements diplomacy penalty has been harshened. (major settlement: from -15 to -40, minor settlement: from -5 to -15)

    Update: 2020-11-08

Technology changes:
Description:
The Technology tree in EP is sufficient, but some late game tech are very instant picks over others. Mainly on the military route. I aim to tweak this a bit and see if I can make the AI use the tech tree better? So far they use it quite well.

Numbers:
  • "Field Surgery" technology provides -10% redeployment cost reduction now rather than -20%. *
  • "The Shibing System" technology provides -5% redeployment cost reduction now rather than -10%. *
  • "Harmonious living" technology now provides -10% salary cost. *
Units:
  • Heavy Cataphracts unit unlock moved from "Long-Term Cordination" to "Military Farms". *
  • Imperial Gate Guards unit unlock moved from "Imperial Officials" to "Defence Posts". *
  • Azure Dragon unit unlock moved from "Topography" to "Defence Posts". *
  • Defenders of Earth and Protectors of Heaven unit unlock moved "Palace Guards" technology. *

  • Inspector office income from all sources bonus changed from from 10%/15%/20%/25%/30% to 5%/10%/15%/20%/25% *
  • Inspector office now provides peasantry income bonus 60/80/100/120/160 *

Jin Empire:
Description:
The Empire of Jin, although much more dependant, still wasn't dependant enough on higher difficulties. Now they should be seeing a steep hit in income if they don't have anyone else to trade with.
  • Removed the bonus to trade influence. *
  • Further reduced the income from all sources debuff from -75% to -90% *
  • Empire of Jin is counted in "diplomatic relations with all factions" effects. *

Sima Wei:
Description:
Sima Wei is a great, aggressive steamroller. But when the lategame stalemate occurs, he has little to no way to get the required prestige while the other Sima's have at least some way to get prestige. Here's something a bit different for Sima Wei to make it not too easy.
  • Reward the nobility assignment give +5 prestige. It can stack.*
  • Sima Wei get's a new starting skill, Champion of Fury. It does everything the previous skill did, plus 10% melee damage and -2 morale for enemies in local region. *
  • Increased Fury resource stage 1's diplomatic relations with all princes from +5 to +10 *
  • Reduced industry income from unique conscription building from 30/60/90 to 20/40/60 *

Sima Jiong:
Description:
Although Sima Jiong has some interesting mechanics now, the AI just couldn't manage the resource enough. So I have taken it upon myself to make the AI have an even better time to manage the resource.
  • Increased AI control gain from +20 to +30. They are not great at holding onto the resource. *
  • Tweaked occupation options for AI so it's equal chance for Sima Jiong to loot and occupy as if he would occupy and subdue. *
  • Recruiting new nobles control cost changed to 50 instead of 100. *
  • Reduced prestige gain from Judiciary building from 5/10/15/20/25 to 3/6/9/12/15 *

Occupation options:
  • Changed occupying and subdue populace's control cost from being either -10 or -20, to being a different number depending on population conversion size. *
  • Occupying and Subduing populace now applies +20% increase in population. This is to help with the conversion rate and makes occupying and subduing more valuable. *
  • Tweaked the value of Loot and occupying, so now you earn less control from occupation. *

Update: 4 Nov, 2020 @ 10:56am

Update:

Imperial units don't require world leader condition (being an Emperor). As you quite literally can't become world leader in EP. *

Empire of Jin
Changed Empire of Jin's faction personality to behave less odd and cowardly. *
Tweaked Empire of Jin's faction personality to act more like an overlord, and less like Han Empire. *
