Update 2: Hotfix 1

What's new:

Logic:
  • Waves had a quick balance pass done on them. First few waves are a bit less brutal.
  • Increased warm-up period to 45 sec from 30 sec.
  • Reduced health/resistance of various destructibles.

What's new:

Environment:
  • Destructibles. ALL destructible props have been overhauled. They won't be solid against vehicles or cannon balls anymore. To add on to that, farm fences have been made destructable too! That being said, be careful when driving around trees...
  • Removed dependancy on the Scenery entity. Was pretty buggy.
  • Terrain has been smoothed out in certain areas. Roads have been completely overhauled!
  • Vegetation has now been further improved.
  • Different surfaces now have corresponding footsteps/particle effects.
  • Crumbs have now been added to the terrain and the various surfaces.
  • More geometry.
  • More props.
  • More decals.
  • More particle effects.
  • More post processing effects.
  • Barriers to stop players from getting on top of buildings. (you can blame the Werebulls for that.)
  • More (dynamic!) soundscapes. By dynamic, I mean destructible.
  • Overhauled lighting. (and fixed Atmospherics...)
  • Fluid surfaces!
  • Strategically placed "wildlife".
  • Added additional road blocks around playable area to showcase where the map "ends".
  • Placed more pickups, and moved some into more appealing locations.
  • Overhauled secret areas!

New Features:
  • Randomized music! Most of the songs play in matching sets. There are exceptions to the rule however...
  • Music from previous SS games will make a return!
  • Metal Snake makes a return...
  • New vehicles!
  • More enemy variety.
  • More secrets.
  • Waves are now shown on the HUD. (WIP, will be improved in next update)
  • A reminder will now pop up every minute or so in-case you have any left over skill points.

Logic:
  • Current waves have been overhauled.
  • Enemy logic has been improved.
  • Enemy spawn logic has been overhauled.
  • Organized file locations. Should be easier for me to make further updates. Tiny bit more optimized loading times.
  • Condensed separate scripts into a single entity where possible. Tiny bit more optimized.
  • Cleaned up and reduced size of custom models.
  • Created visibility mesh.
  • Changed intro music logic.
  • The Combine Harvester is more durable now.
  • Endless mode has been overhauled. It's more of an "event" now.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed Khnums/Red Mechs not being able to destroy barricades and therefore getting stuck.
  • Attempted a fix with silent Kamikazes.
  • Fixed sun position. No more out of place shadows!
  • Fixed gadgets not showing up on the weapon swap list.
  • Fixed particle effects not working on item spawners.
  • Secrets will now be triggered using different logic.
  • Resolved some UID conflicts.

Certain particle effects are reduced if Particle Density is set to minimum.
Use at least around 1/4 or half Particle Density (both GPU and CPU) to have them be present!


Known Issues:
  • Enemies getting stuck on destructible props. (already took steps to fix that, will be fixed more permanently in the next update.)
  • HUD element interfering with the survival time element. (currently on a workaround, working on fixing the issue for good.)
  • Certain enemy groups spawning right next to each other on occasion. (don't want to get technical, but for some reason the game doesn't stop itself from spawning multiple enemies on one formation marker when randomized. currently looking for a fix.)

What's new:
  • All weapons (except for that one OP one...) have been added into the level!
  • 13 waves have been added! Wave 14 is ENDLESS. Once you get there, good luck staying there!
  • Waves had a first rebalance pass done on them. Will be updated further in the next update.
  • Skill Points have been rebalanced. They get added directly to the player now. All you have to do is apply them!
  • Gadgets and Vehicles have been added! Not saying anymore, you guys figure it out!
  • Additional graphical effects such as decals, particle effects, geometry and props have been added.
  • And yes, destructibles. There will be much more to come in the next update!

  • Soundscape has been added to the map! Includes new music.
  • Decreased dependence on Scenery models. Will be fixed in the next update.

  • Pickups have been re-organized and re-located. You will find ammo for weapons close to where they spawn. Remember where the weapons show up, and you'll have an easier time finding ammo!
  • Health/Armour/Ammo pickups got rebalanced.
