Welcome back! I wanted to come back to the map really quickly to address some bugs and make some adjustments. I will be working on extra content for INFECTION. However, other things have been occupying my time recently such as other projects and work. Thank you very much to those who stuck about and are still playing the map!

General
  • Fixed the death barrier in night time holdout which would cause players to go into spectator mode permanently.
  • Removed Gewehr-43 pickup from the Specialist room.
  • Map lighting quality and resolution has been upgraded.
  • Fixed an out of bounds exploit in night time holdout office section.

Specialists
    Purifier
    • Increased burn damage and burn intervals.

Just a tiny quality of life update. I'll be working on content for INFECTION again once everything is back on track. See you soon!


What's left to fix/ add?
  • A Boss round. I know you keep asking for one!
  • Specialist weapons recharging with only one kill for whatever reason.
  • UI breaks when switching out specialist weapons.
  • No way of getting your extra perks back once you go down after all trials have been completed.
  • Zombies standing in front of the consoles and not attacking it.
  • Zombies being attracted to the PaPed spike launcher rounds post detonation.
  • Zombie spawn rates in the holdouts can be quite lacking resulting in nothing happening in Co-op.
  • Zombie counter code is unoptimised which causes hard stutters when zombies are killed.
  • Zombie counter overlaps with other players' points.
  • Non-host players cannot see nor hear their thrust meter.

Version 1.0.2

Hey guys, this is a small balancing update for the specialist weapons. Sorry this took so long to come out, I managed to somehow get the same vague error that caused the delay of the initial release. The error simply doesn't state nor indicate what's wrong so I had to trial and error fixes for hours so I had to push the update to a later date.
This will be the only update for the next few months as I'm helping Ducky with his project and I also need a long needed break from INFECTION. Obviously I'll be back in full form once that's all done to bring you new content. Thank you so much for enjoying the map and leaving all kinds of feedback. See you lot soon!


General
  • Increased both trial times by extra 30 seconds (Holdout: 2:00, Freerun: 2:30)
  • Added some extra mantles on the freerun maps.
  • Removed fall damage on the nighttime freerun (RIP Kunjora)

Specialists
    Purifier
    • Removed the overheat feature.
    • Slightly increased burn damage.
    War Machine
    • Increased overall damage and impact damage so it kills on impact.
    • A single grenade now does only 50HP of damage to the player.
    • Has all explosion effects.

I will not remove the damage to player damage on the war machine since I don't like weapons being used recklessly. Also, I know of the bug where you can recharge the specialists with one kill and that only happens after you swap out your specialist weapon. So you prevent that from happening you'll have to refrain from swapping them out, otherwise you're basically glitching out the experience out of your own choice. If you have some extra suggestions for features or have any bugs to report then please go ahead and drop them down. I may be gone but I'll be checking here very often so everything will be noted down. Thank you and see you soon!

  • Perk reward has a chance of not spawning in "The View".
  • Players have a chance of falling out of bounds in holdout map which will leave them in spectator model permanently.
  • Umbra issue in spawn on the right zombie barrier.

Here is a set of fixes for the map again that I picked up on during my stream watching binges.

General
  • All language support
  • Fixed death barrier at the end of the night time freerun map.
  • Fixed glitch spot on stamin-up floor.
  • Fixed zombies standing still when players are on ground floor of the Egyptian holdout map.
  • Consoles should now make noise when low health.
  • Fixed some missing sound issues.

Weapons

Spike Launcher
  • Added Pack-a-Punch name for the Spike Launcher.
  • Tweaked damage and ammo on base and paped versions.

What's planned next?
As of now, this will be the only update for the next few weeks as I'm hard at work with helping out Ducky on his project, hence some things seeming unfinished in INFECTION. Once our job is done on that we'll be back at work on INFECTION to refine the experience even more.

On a side note, major events and updates are planned to occur during INFECTION's life. So you should be expecting more than just simple bug fix updates later down the line. :)

  • Zombie spawn rates in the holdouts can be quite lacking resulting in nothing happening in Co-op.
  • Zombies don't attack the consoles and instead group up in front of them.
  • Zombie counter code is unoptimised which causes hard stutters when zombies are killed.
  • A glitch spot on Egyptian holdout map.

No one is was really free for a testing period hence some bugs still remained because I couldn't thoroughly test in co-op mode.

Map is released but there are things that may seem unfinished here and there. What are we aware of?

  • A Boss round. I know you keep asking for one!
  • Specialist weapons recharging with only one kill for whatever reason.
  • UI breaks when switching out specialist weapons.
  • War machine not having any explosion effects.
  • No way of getting your extra perks back once you go down after all trials have been completed.
  • You can get stuck on the floor with stamin-up and essentially be invincible.
  • Zombie counter overlaps with other players' points.
  • Perk rewards have a chance of not spawning.
  • Zombie on higher floor get confused when on the ground floor on the Egyptian holdout map.
  • A possible death barrier can be hit on night-time freerun map
  • Zombies being attracted to the PaPed spike launcher rounds post detonation.
  • Zombie spawn rates in the holdouts can be quite lacking resulting in nothing happening in Co-op.
  • Zombies don't attack the consoles and instead group up in front of them.
  • Zombie counter code is unoptimised which causes hard stutters when zombies are killed.
  • Users with other languages cannot launch the map.

Why are these issues even here?

simply put; we ran out of time/ overlooked some stuff and had to push the initial release out. Things will get sorted out once we get all other side stuff out of the way. For now, expect general bug fixes and balancing updates if any will be necessary.
