Update 14 Patch Notes

- Fixed crashing when entering Soviet research tree in conquest.
- Fixed fallschirmjager's weapon skills. They are now skill_level 3 in their appropriate weaponry types.

For reference, the base soldiers (78th and SS included) are skill level 2. Vanilla FJ in the base game are skill level 5. FJ have a tendency of being represented as super human, and already get their 'paratrooper' perk :

(define "fallschirmjager" ;// German Fallschirmjäger
{"health" "350%"}
{"stamina" "300%"}
)

I don't necessarily like this, but it's been kept in-game for now.

As FYI - the SS get nothing except the Aufklarungs that get the same recon perk as other recon:

(define "recon" ;// recon soldiers
{"health" "150%"}
{"stamina" "175%"}
{"stamina_regeneration" "110%"}
("recon_vision")
)

Update 12-13 Patch Notes

- Squad Icons : Germans squads from the 78th and IV. SS Panzer Corps have gotten their own unique squad icons to help you differentiate them on the battlefield. Applies to skirmish and conquest.

- German Oakleaf and Italian camo have had their contrast increased a bit. Cosmetic change to make them less dull and brown.

- Balance Change : 78th Begleit tank riders now come on two StuG III Gs rather than a single StuG III G (Late). This felt more fitting for a tier 3 ability.

Update 10 Patch Notes

Finally!

This monster patch is done! What started off as a simple “lets give back the electricians their uniforms” has ballooned into something monstrous. Without further ado:

Bug fixes:
- Fixed research dependency for T-34 obr 1941 spaced armor
- Rifle grenadier now has his proper uniform again
- Luftfeld Jagers now wear their proper Luftwaffe helmets.

I. AI CHANGES

Mod is now fully compatible with the AI from the latest update. All new equipment, and new soldier types have been fully incorporated into the AI’s “catalogue” to purchase units from. AI will now spawn my custom units.
German AI will favor 78th Sturm to represent the Soviet campaign of Operation Bagration and the road to Berlin.
Soviet AI will orient itself towards a standard Infantry / Tank division with Guards assets.

II. SKIRMISH CHANGES

AI has been updated for the mod to be compatible with skirmish AI. You can now play against AI solo. The majority of available units and doctrines are now part of the AI purchase catalogue for them to spawn.

III. NEW DOCTRINES

What? TEN doctrines? YES! All have gotten a redo and tweaks.

German doctrines:

- 78th Sturm Division –
Minor modification, Jagdpanther has been removed and replaced with 8.8cm PaK43 for historical accuracy. Belgeit infantry now arrive at Stage III mounted on a StuG III G.

- Kampfgruppe Berlin –
Minor but noticeable changes. 1945 volksgrenadiers have been replaced with 1945 Fallschirmjagers of the 9th Fallschirmjager Division for historical accuracy and flavor. This doctrine is now able to spawn two 8.8 FlaK36 crewed by volkssturm and hitlerjugend – their accuracy may be lacking however. That is the price for scraping the barrel. This doctrine also has more volkssturm available, with backup from a Tiger II (H) from the Schwere SS Panzer Abteilung 503.

- 1. Skijager –
No changes. This one is up for review later.

- IV. SS Panzer Corps –
Sdkfz 234/2 replaced with a pair of Sdkfz 250/9 for historical accuracy. Panzer IV J and Panther G also removed for historical accuracy. They have been replaced with a veteran Panzer IV H and veteran Panther A respectively owing to the high number of Iron Cross recipients amongst the tank crews.

- Panzer Ausbildings Abteilung –
Completely new and revamped. This represents the very last panzer divisions that Germany could muster for the end around Berlin. Inspired from Panzer Divisioin Muncheberg and Ausbildings Abteilung 500. A motley assembly of obsolete tanks backed up by hard hitting Tiger II (P). Comes with various new equipment such as the Panzer II L and Sdkfz 234/4.

USSR

- 3-y Guards Tank Division -
Based on the Berezina part of Operation Bagration, this division includes lend-lease tanks as well as support from the Guards independent heavy tank regiment.

- 29-y Tank Corps –
This doctrine focuses on the heavy self-propelled artillery regiment for smashing through enemy lines. Acquired panzerfausts, engineer-sappers, ISU-152, oh my.

- 84-y Guards Rifle Division –
A Guards infantry division with plenty of elite infantry, but also comes with shtrafniks to reconnoiter enemy lines. Once these expendable troops find the big cats, the 84th Guards can count on the heavy anti-tank battery of the ISU-122 to knock out the big cats.

- 3-y Guards Mechanized –
This forward detachment excels in penetrating enemy lines. Relatively fast and light, using OSNAZ to probe enemy positions, support your allies to conduct acts of sabotage and calling in heavy artillery to smash the enemy before they respond.

- Rifle Division –
Based on various units of the Ukrainian Front during the offensive into Romania, the rifle division includes elite VDV troops leading the way. Relatively well balanced, what it lacks in armor it makes up with large calibre towed anti-tank and artillery.

IV. CONQUEST CHANGES

Historical progression for conquest has been fully redone.

4 stages now make up a year.

With a campaign start date of JAN 1940, 22 stages will take you to MAY 1945. In order to reach May 1945, you will have to play 32 battles. Historical progression is slower at first, and then rapidly catch up to 1 battle = 1 stage from the 16th battle onwards. This is to allow you to prepare somewhat… as opposed to facing KV-1s and T-34s like the Germans did during the initial period of Barbarossa.

Did I mention that acquisition time is now accurate for the AI? The AI will acquire the IS-2 obr 1943 around October 1943, and the Tiger I in October 1942 - just in time for Leningrad.

Update 7 patch notes

Updated the mod to Scorched Earth including the new units to both Skirmish and Conquest.

German Conquest tech tree now has proper dependencies for tank research:
- Panzer III F requires PaK38
- Panzer IV F2 requires PaK40
- Panzer IV G requires Panzer IIIJ/1 (in order to artificially imitate timeline coherence and encourage Pz III research)
- Grille K requires both the 38t chassis and Sturmpanzer to be unlocked.
- Sdkfz 234 variants beyond the 20mm require proper weapons to be researched: Pak38, IG18, and PaK40.

German infantry uniforms have been updated with the additional uniforms in the recent patches to create more variation (not very noticeable). The latest patches have broken the autumn oak parka the Waffen units had, so they've been given a mix of parkas and italian camo instead. Helmet camouflage have been corrected.

Volksgrenadiers now also get some late-late war sumpftarn "tan" camouflage.

Russian tech tree added with *some* of the new units from Scorched Earth:
- M3A1 Stuart (late)
- M4A2 "Emcha" 75mm
- M4A2 "Emcha" 76mm
- T28 obr 1938
- T-34-85 with "Bedspring" armor
- KV-8 flame tank
- Su-85M
- IS-2 obr 1945

The other Russian tanks have not been added because I felt the research tree bloat was already quite considerable for what little addition they'd bring.
The current Russian tree bloat is rather severe and has spaghetti problems that I'm currently trying to address and I'm not happy with Russian research progression in its current format.
