Update 26

! ! ! !

German custom skirimish doctrines have returned.

Introducing the new doctrines:
- 3. Fallschirmjager Division
- SS-Panzer Kampfgruppe
- Kampfgruppe Berlin
- 78th Sturm Division
- Volksgrenadier Division
- 106. Panzer Brigade 'FHH'

Each doctrine have had massive changes to their units and special units, and as such should play completely different to each other.

Please bare in mind that these doctrines are not balanced and will take time to balance properly.

Design notes for each doctrine:

3. Fallschirmjager Division should allow representation of FJ divisions in Normandy, Market Garden as well during the Ardennes (5.FJ). Plenty of elite units, but lacks in mobility and armor. It can count on the 505. Sch.Pz.Abt or 559. Sch.Pz.Jager Abt for heavy support

SS-Panzer Kampfgruppe has been modelled with the Panzer-Aufklarungs Abt. in mind and can represent anything from the 5.SS in Poland, to the 12.SS in Normandy or LSSAH during the Bulge. It's recon-centric so it'll play very aggressively, bit might lose steam in the long run as it does not have access to the latest units unlike the newer equipped Panzer Brigades or Volksgrenadier divisions. It must make do with older equipment.

Kampfgruppe Berlin literally throws the kitchen sink at the approach enemy. A very much "dig the trenches and ready the panzerfausts" kind of approach, is replete with cheap units, indentured pioneer labor to dig trenches, and zealous panzerfaust-wielding teenagers. It's lack of cohesion makes for a colorful unit with just about everything being available.

78th Sturm Division is another infantry formation, although heavily anti-tank. Solid veteran infantry and powerful anti-tank platforms will make up for its lack of armor, but is able to counter-attack quite well with Belgeit units mounted on Stugs and can count on Tigers from the 501.Sch.Pz.Abt reinforcing it around Orsha. A very well rounded division.

Volksgrenadier Division should represent newly raised "people's grenadiers" units in both the East and Western fronts. Lavishly decked out in automatic weapons, and making use of vast quantities of captured artillery and anti-tank guns, it makes up for the lack of training with plenty of automatic weapons. And a Sturmtiger. And Jagdtiger from 653.Sch.PzJager Abt.

106. Panzer Brigade 'FHH' should represent both the 106, as well as the 107 or even 111. Panzer Brigades. Newly raised and prioritized for the latest equipment hot off the factory lines, it's got plenty of tanks and automatic weapons. It Acting as a fire brigade to rapidly counter attack the enemy, it is lacking in adequate reconnaissance and dedicated artillery support. It's tanks are plentiful and easy to access... but quality training is another issue.

Fixes / Additions:
- The bug that would make peopel CTD when dismissing the 1917 .30cal HMG and White Scout Car should be fixed (theoretically)
- Flammpanzer 38t

Update: 17 Jun, 2024 @ 9:39pm

Update 25 Hotfix:

- Fixed 1945 Rifle squad
Bazooka and Squad leader had bugged names, and the squad composition had an error with a 2nd bazooka instead of a loader. This has been fixed.

Update: 17 Jun, 2024 @ 4:47am

Update 24: Overlord

First, the boring stuff:
- Fixed Stalingrad stosstrupp spelling error
- Fixed Fallschirmjager MG assistants' missing Kar98 ammo
- Fixed Radio operators with MP40s. Their previous version wasn't working
- Fixed/Updated Goliath demolition pioneers with proper portrait

US forces have arrived! Roughly 50 new units arrived divided into 3 main trees: Infantry, Airborne and Armored rifles

Unlike the German tree that requires Reinforcement level 5 to unlock their late war units, the US requires Reinforcement level 4. Units are themed around Operation Torch, Husky, Overlord, and then the Lorraine / Ardennes battles before culminating with the crossing at Remagen.

Enjoy!

Update 21 - Twice Over the Vistula now entering version 2.0a

Patch focuses on updating the mod for Conquest for GERMAN and SOVIET conquest trees.
US conquest and multiplayer custom doctrines will be for the next patch while I decide which formations and divisions I want to focus on for the custom MP doctrines. Until then, it's a bit of a roll back in that department where vanilla doctrines have been reverted.

German Conquest tree has gotten a near-full make over.

Main research trees include:

- Fallschirmjager, representing Fallschirm StuG Batterie and Herman-Goring Fallschirm. Panzer Division
- Infanterie tree representing 78th Sturm Division, Gebirgsjager, and Volksgrenadier
- Panzergrenadier (motorized and armored), representing Gross Deutchland, Fuhrer-Begleit Brigade, Panzer Lehr and Feldhernhalle (FHH) late-war panzer brigades
- WSS, representing both "A-tier" Panzer Divisions as well as D-tier SS-Kavallerie.

Other than some specific units being present (ie FHH Panzersturm or GD Panzergrenadiers), you should have enough tools and infantry types present to to replicate just about any division.

Russian tree relatively unchanged, though focus has gone into "Lend Lease" mechanics. Entire Russian tank tree can essentially be skipped for a pure Lend Lease "Guards Tank Division" if desired. Lend Lease is based on year and unlocked through Reinforcement stages.

Update: 31 May, 2023 @ 10:55pm

Update 20

Micro update to make the mod loadable without crashing.

IMPORTANT: Mod is not updated. It's just made playable by removing a problematic file that was causing crashes.

Skirmish loads OK, but haven't playtested a full match.
Haven't tested Conquest either, but theoretically should function.

Update: 22 Apr, 2023 @ 1:40am

Update 19

Bugfixes:

- Skirmish visual fix for panzergren 44 and 45
- Skirmish Soviet Strelkovy 42 No DP now has proper manpower and spawns correct.
- Skirmish Soviet AI now spawns correctly. This was due to Strelkovy 42 not having infantry and essentially halted soviet AI spawn.

Update: 11 Apr, 2023 @ 9:46am

Update 18

Bugfix:

- FJ Officer has his MP40 back
- Moved and made the Sdkfz.7 easier to access.

Update: 9 Apr, 2023 @ 9:00am

Update 17 Patch Notes:

Balance update as I continue to playtest Conquest.

Also bugfix: 8cm Mortar have their proper artillery crew again (like other mortars), improving accuracy.

Marder III M 20 -> 16
Marder II 20 -> 14
Grille K 20 -> 18

Panzer III J 20 -> 18
Panzer III J1 18 -> 16

Panzer IV F2 20 -> 22

PzB41 5 -> 4
4.7cm PaKT 8 -> 7
Pak36 8 -> 6
PaK38 11 -> 9
PaK40 14 -> 12

Logic behind is that lightly armored tank destroyers such as Marder II and III present a 'cheaper' anti-tank option compared to fielding a full tank.

Panzer IV F2 nerfed in that it presents the first step for the Panzer IV to mount the 'long' L43 7.5cm. This should provide the option in making the Panzer III an interesting and cost-effective option. Naturally, as the era continues, the Panzer IV price diminishes.
