Fixed for Spring Molting

Update: 4 Apr, 2023 @ 10:16am

Updated factorial XP bonus for kills above player tier to scale 10% instead of 5%.

So it will be a 10% bonus for an enemy 1 tier above you, 30% (10+20) for 2 tiers above you, 60% (10+20+30) for 3 tiers, and so on.

Experience curve has been changed. I'll need to put a quick explanation of how experience was handled by default to explain this. Experience is calculated based on tiers, the game calculates both your tier and the enemy's tier the same way, level divided by 5, decimal truncated. It then modifies the experience based on the difference between your tier and the enemy's. By default, if you are the same tier or lower than your enemy, you get full experience. If you are one tier higher, it is halved, two tiers higher you get only a tenth, and 3 or more you get no experience.

This has been changed with this update. Now, if you are the same tier you get normal experience, if you are a higher tier than your enemy then your experience is divided by the difference in tiers plus one. So you will still get half experience if you are one tier higher, but instead of getting only a tenth at two tiers higher you will get a third of experience, a fourth at three tiers higher, so on so forth. if you are a lower tier than your enemy then you will get an increasing bonus based on the difference in your tiers. This bonus is factorial from one up to the tier difference, where the tier is multiplied by 0.05 or 5%. So for example, if you are three tiers lower than your enemy, you will get: (1 x 0.05) + (2 x 0.05) + (3 x 0.05) = 0.30 or 30%. I know this seems rather small when compared to losing 75% of your experience from being three tiers higher than your enemy, however there are rather weak high level enemies in some places that can be easily killed and being able to still get experience from any enemy no matter how much you outlevel them will already give you much easier farming.
