  • Minor overhaul of the westernization requirements logic:
    • WCR now dynamically determines what counts as a "conservative" (or "traditionalist") Interest Group and what counts as a "progressive" one based on each Interest Group's current stances on certain [vanilla] laws
    • Certain Interest Groups can be considered conservative in one country or in one point in time and progressive in another depending on how their ideologies change, especially with different leaders
    • WCR is also almost completely agnostic to which Interest Groups are actually present in the game - this greatly improves compatibility with mods such as Better Politics Mod
      • Seamless compatibility with BPM in particular is also now present in WCR - no compatches should be needed!
    • Players using the AWC legacy requirements game rule are unaffected
  • Recreated the Qing modern army coat meshes to resolve issues with the collar warping in strange directions and clipping problems with particularly fat or skinny characters
    • There may be issues with characters that are extremely tall or short (which is a gene trait in the game, but not one that is very noticeable during play) characters - most vanilla historical characters and all randomly-generated characters should be fine
  • Fixed generic army caps being used in Korea and Japan if those countries were being controlled purely by vanilla westernization logic
  • Updated all localizations to the most recent versions from the Crowdin project

  • Modernized Chinese uniforms now exclude the Manchu officials' hat if China is not ruled by a Manchu monarch
  • Added the "Polynesian suits" (the ones the Hawaiian monarchs wear at the start of the game, also used by westernized clerks & bureaucrats) to the pool of outfits usable by westernized characters & upper strata pops
  • Hawaii is no longer considered "pre-westernized" and can now westernize through WCR's mechanics
  • Added special logic to prevent Hawaiian monarchs from not wearing their suit when not in command of troops
  • Fixed some clothing mesh-related errors that appeared whenever the game boots

    • Korean and Japanese rulers should no longer have clothing conflicts upon westernizing
    • Westernized Korean and Japanese monarchs will use COM's outfits if they select domestic uniforms for their rulers when westernizing
  • Fixed clothing conflict bug with East Asian Clothes Patch when the game rule to westernize traditionalists is disabled and the game rule for using vanilla westernization rules for Korea or Japan were enabled
  • Korean, Japanese, and Ottoman/Turkish [domestic] uniforms now have sashes and medals

Due to some lack of organization along with the size of the update, some of the following changelog notes do not refer to bugs that were present in the version of the mod uploaded to the workshop, but were still patched over the course of development and testing.

  • Removed "Always Westernize Immigrants" game rule
  • Added new mechanics for westernizing unwesternized pops & characters in westernized countries
    • New set of 4 game rules have been added to replace the old ones that were just removed
    • Never - Unwesternized migrant pops never westernize. For the purposes of this mechanic, migrants are any pop that does not belong to a primary culture.
    • Migrants Only - Unwesternized migrant pops will automatically westernize if they live in any westernized country. This has a notable behavior where unwesternized pops that are part of the primary culture in countries already westernized at the start of the game will not be able to westernize. This is the same behavior as the old game rule.
    • Wealth & Acceptance Westernization - NEW MECHANIC: All pops in any westernized country will be able to westernize. Non-migrants (i.e., part of primary cultures) will westernize automatically. Migrants will be allowed to westernize based on Standard of Living, where they will westernize at 10 SoL. Discriminated migrants have their SoL threshold raised to 20. Migrants, discriminated or not, working in government-funded buildings will westernize automatically.
    • Always - All pops in westernized countries will westernize.
    • Pops in cultures that are considered westernized at the start of the game (mainly Europeans) will still be ignored by the mod.
  • Changed some important clothing definition handling - if you see any pops not wearing any clothes after installing this update, please report it to me ASAP.
  • Significantly changed logic for determining which countries are westernized at game start to more closely match vanilla European clothing definition logic. If you see any unwesternized countries that suddenly cannot westernize anymore, please report it to me ASAP.
    • The Heavenly Kingdom / Taiping Rebellion should now be able to westernize.
  • Fixed Korean Empire uniforms appearing when not westernized.
  • Fixed Japanese rulers always wearing imperial clothing regardless of Governance Principles law.
  • Fixed unwesternized Japanese hairstyles disappearing too early in some cases.
  • Westernized Korean Empire soldiers wearing the Korean military uniforms will no longer have wives wearing hanbok (traditional clothing).
  • AI Korea now gains significant boost to decision weight to begin westernization.
  • AI Japan's boost to taking the westernization decision after the Honorable Restoration has been increased.
  • Added Ottoman/Turkish uniforms as an option to the Ottoman Empire/Turkey when selecting uniform influences (you can keep the fez now!).
  • Fixed Korean and Japanese agitator clothing issues
  • Fixed some westernized lower class pops not wearing anything if the game rule for fully westernizing poor pops was set to No.
  • Fixed Korean, Japanese, and Russian military uniforms not being used if a dictator (e.g. presidential republic + autocracy) was given command of troops in countries using any of those uniforms after westernization.
