2.8.1
Improved interoperability with the Japanese Uniform Pack mod

Update: 6 Dec, 2024 @ 10:27pm

2.8.0
  • Updated for Vic3 1.8+
  • Implemented fictional late-era army uniforms for countries with domestic styles
    • Only base game assets are used, so uniforms range from completely fictional to vaguely historical
    • Like with other late-era uniforms, Sphere of Influence is required to use them
    • This behavior is controllable with a new game rule in case you dislike the idea of having ahistorical uniforms
  • Changed algorithm for determining which interest groups are progressive and which are conservative to use the new [for 1.7] readable law progressiveness properties - interest group progressiveness is now determined using all of the endorsed laws of an interest group instead of just a specific subset.
    • Economic System, Trade Policy, Army Model, and Distribution of Power laws have varying extra weights since the reformation of these laws are some of the most important westernization measures implemented by nations of this period (e.g., Japan)
    • Army Model progressiveness is shifted slightly (due to Professional Army having a progressiveness of 0 in the base game, which would otherwise mess with the new algorithm and make [non-traditionalist] Armed Forces IGs more conservative than they should probably otherwise be) for the purposes of calculating progressiveness; the actual law definition is not adjusted
  • General clothing tweaks for catching up to 1.7+ and other misc. niceties:
    • Academics in westernized countries now wear the mortar board (flat, square graduate/scholar hat)
    • Certain politicians will now wear greatcoats during winter months if Sphere of Influence is installed
    • All non-historical westernized characters can now wear glasses (as opposed to only politicians)
  • Added updated & [almost] finished German localization - many thanks to Sabura for their contributions
  • Updated localizations for Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, and Russian
  • Sephardic is now correctly treated as an unwesternized culture, resolving an issue where Sephardic pops wouldn't wear western clothing in westernized countries.
  • Fixed Egypt's ruler not westernizing in certain situations if the rulers are Albanian
  • Fixed military pops of a European culture living in a westernized country not adopting the uniform of the country they're living in
  • Countries using Russian-style uniforms will now only have beige late era clothing to match the color of the hats
  • Fixed possible bug where generals could wear politician/civilian hats
  • Fixed the westernization journal entry's status text being blank in situations where the ruler westernizes but the heir doesn't
  • For modders:
    • Filled in the "id" field in the metadata
    • Added new functionality to arbitrarily mark characters or countries to force WCR to treat them as unwesternized (as in westernizable, not "never westernize"). Characters with the "WCR_treat_as_unwesternized" variable will be considered unwesternized and subject to the westernization status & progress of their current country. Countries with this same variable will apply unwesternized status to all characters and pops in that country.

Update: 7 Jul, 2024 @ 10:30pm

2.7.1
  • Added domestic uniforms to Egypt, allowing them to use their uniforms added in 1.7
  • Added domestic uniforms to Persia, allowing them to use their uniforms added in SoI if the DLC is enabled
  • Domestic uniform nations should now no longer lose their uniforms if they form a new country (mainly only impacts Egypt in the base game, but this should also fix issues with Persia, Turkey, and China if you have mods that add formables for these nations)

Update: 24 Jun, 2024 @ 9:54pm

2.7.0
  • Updated for 1.7
  • Users with the Sphere of Influence DLC will be able to use the new late era military uniforms added by the DLC with all uniform styles (except for domestic ones) upon researching Bolt-Action Rifles
  • Fixed certain poor unemployed military pops not being westernized when using Wealth/Acceptance Westernization game rule for migrants
  • To address certain AI countries perpetually getting stuck while trying to westernized, added a flat +1% monthly progress from:
    • The year being 1900 or beyond
    • Having good relations with a westernized overlord
    • Having a westernized overlord who researched Civilizing Mission
  • Tweaked logic handling British/French/Russian subject military uniforms - they should now properly be ignored if the subject in question is westernizing, and there should be fewer weird edge cases (hopefully)
  • American & German uniform accessories have been tweaked to fix epaulettes usage and fix accessories not appearing on monarchs & heirs of westernized countries using German-style uniforms

Update: 3 Jun, 2024 @ 5:18pm

2.6.2
Fixed the westernization progress bonus from amicable relations with a westernized country increasing the progress rate by x2.1 instead of x1.1

Update: 30 May, 2024 @ 9:41pm

2.6.1
  • Tweaked logic related to checking for Korea or Japan in clothing definitions for westernized Korean and Japanese uniforms. Instead of only directly checking for the Korea or Japan tag, the mod now includes fallback checks to consider nation formations (i.e., was formed from Korea or Japan) and alternatively some culture, religion, and capital location checks to try to cover extremely weird modded edge cases. This should improve compatibility with certain mods (such as Beautiful Asian States, which apparently makes the Korean Empire a separate tag).
  • Some logic related to Korean pop clothing now checks for culture instead of which country they're living in.
  • Fixed a clothing conflict for westernized Korean and Japanese child monarchs and heirs if the Community Outfit Mod is active.
  • Fixed a bug that'd cause some or all of the generic European uniforms to be used in westernized Korea or Japan if those countries were being controlled by vanilla logic (which potentially caused conflicts, such as with the Korea Uniform Pack mod).
