Update: 18 Oct, 2024 @ 12:41pm

1.2.0

Added a feature to allow for Chromatic Spice to make dye regions have levels of LIMITED transparency. This could allow for interesting cominations of MSG and opacity of the dye region. The feature collection is now Called MSGT.

You MUST have admin level privileges in order to activate the MSGT features! Inform your admin that they will need to activate them if they are willing to allow it.

Ideally, tasteful transparency can produce interesting aesthetics, but this feature may very well expose armor artifacts, undesirable visuals and other things you never intended to see. Use at your own risk.

Limited transparency means that the engine is applying transparency on materials that otherwise just use hard opacity settings. This is less expensive than tranlucency, and is also easier to develop as Chromatic Spice has limitations against translucency, currently. As a result of this: you may witness shimmering/ghosting/afterimages on your transparent clothing.

I have neglected to place this warning before but I will do so now: EPILEPSY WARNING. Be advised that this mod introduces flashing lights and complex visuals that may trigger epileptic episodes in vulnerable individuals.

Admins will be given a global switch on whether or not they wish for transparency to be allowed on their server. It will be located underneath the global glow settings in the Chromatic Spice Inventory Window.

Fixes:

-Adjusted the admin panel in the Chromatic Spice Inventory window to give more real-time information of settings. This allows all admins of a server to immediately see a changed setting if multiple admins have the Chromatic Spice inventory window open.

-Adjusted the Chromatic Spice Inventory window dye channel previews to only show the number of dye channels an object has.

1.1.0

The spicerack has been renovated to allow for 12 Dye channels. There is a developing possibility for a simple interface allowing custom armor modders to take advantage of the additional channels. I'll announce when that happens.

This update was developed in preparation for the WAUS update featuring the Ophidian's Order armor which supports up to 12 dye channels per armor piece. All 12 dye channels include support for tinting and physical material changes (metalness, smoothness, glow).

Fixes:

Chromatic spice has been fixed for thralls. Thralls can now sport the colors, metals, shines, and glows as players using Chromatic Spice. They will be treated as "users" for admins controlling glow scales.

Hex input has been restricted to prevent invalid input lengths.

Player's character should no longer receive input while using Chromatic Spice.

1.0.2

The spicerack had a bit of an encounter with a starmetal meteorite and it's had an effect on the coloring system.

-Added the ability to apply metallic, smoothness, and glowing appearances on your armor. You can combine these effects in any way you see fit. The effects are included in each dye channel and will occupy the same part of the clothing that the associated dye would.

The caveat is that it is only partially supported by vanilla gear. However, it should be fully supported by custom gear from other mods in most cases.

Why? Because in order for Conan to run efficiently, it needs to virtualize its textures, and this means I can't look them up to apply them to a "Spiced" armor.

The MSG (Metallic, Smoothness, Glow) feature will only be fully compatible with fully custom original clothing and armor from other mods.
For other mods that kitbash vanilla armors, or any mod that has a kitbashed vanilla armor item in any form, there will only likely be partial compatibility.

MSG features have been tested and confirmed working on the following mods:

-Juvilia's Crabby Fashion
-GrimProductions
-WAUS(Wafflurgy Artisinal Utopian Spread)
-WUAS (Wafflebutter's Universal Aesthetics Solution) beachwear
-Any armor mod that brings custom armor and textures into the game and has dye channels for said armor

MSG features are only partially compatible with:
-Immersive armors
-WAUS Armors that have fur or feathers(will fix in later update)
-WUAS armor conversions for buttermilk body
-Any other mod unlisted that uses Funcom materials on their clothing and armor items.

Because of this limitation, the user will be prompted in most cases by the dye window that there is a compatibility issue if it detects one. So the user can double click the warning to accept the risk and enable it for that particular armor piece. The user should always be able to revert it if they don't like the change.

Administration:
-A global glow intensity scale is included in the inventory window for admins. Admins can specify the glow scale for all users and admins seperately. The scale has a range of 0-100 and it will default to 100. The glow setting on armors is multiplied by this scale, meaning a higher scale will result in a stronger glow result. Example: Armor glow range is 0.0-1.0, multiply that by whatever the admin-set glow rate is and you have the final glow result. Some pieces will start to glow to the point of creating lense flares, so the need for a limiter was obvious.

Warning:
As this mod was designed to work alongside the base-game, it will only affect armors equipped the traditional way as well as Accessories from Whiskey's accessories API.

This mod was not designed to target anything managed by Tot and should not affect Tot-spawned cosmetic meshes.

Fixes:

-Attempted to address worn armor not updating when switching chromatic spice off or cleaning the armor.

Update: 5 Oct, 2023 @ 1:29pm

1.0.1

-Attempted to make it so that Chromatic Spice can target and apply visuals to items using The Accessory API. This does NOT mean the API was implemented into Chromatic Spice.

- Removed restrictions in saving and resetting colors in the dye window. Generally these were in place for the vanilla system since vanilla dyes are limited; safeguards were in place to prevent players from wasting dye, but Chromatic Spice dye is infinite.

- Chromatic Spice will now assign the item's previous vanilla dyes as it's default colors while using the CS dye window. If an item's dye channel lacks a vanilla dye, CS will default that channel to grey.

- Added a "clean" function to the CS inventory window to allow you to clean individual armor pieces of CS dye. These pieces will resume using the Conan dye system.
