Abigail Williams Mod Update (2025-07-03):

Due to the possibly frequent update of the Unofficial Fix Patch, we no longer directly provide the package of Unofficial Fix Patch in Abigail's mod folder, but provide download link instead.

Update: 29 Jun @ 7:48am

1) The minimum number of weeks for Abigail's first visit town event has been delayed from the 3rd week to the 5th week.

2) Fixed a rare bug within Servant Summoning Ritual quest: when the portal (actually it is a curio) in the background is automatically interacted due to certain quirk, it may infinitely repeat the investigate animation, causing the game to be soft-locked.

3) Slightly change the "zero-width space" workaround in localization, no actual influence on gameplay.

4) The Unofficial Fix Patch has been updated. Please search for the following compressed files in Abigail's mod folder, and manually install the patch after carefully viewed the Readme:
"DarkestEXE_Fix_windows_x64_for_Build_26186 (暗黑地牢主程序修复补丁64位对应26186版本 by 局外人).7z"

1) As a modding linkage with "Slash Blade" mod, a new trinket named "Blade of Asamjni <Tri-sahasra-lokadhatu Nirodha>" has been added.
*This trinket is an universal trinket, not only Abigail Williams but also other heroes can equip it.
*The rarity of this trinket is ancestral, thus can be obtained like other vanilla ancestral trinkets, and also can be obtained by certain method (forge blade) within Slash Blade mod.
*When Abigail Williams mod is installed but Slash Blade Mod is not installed, this trinket will <NEVER> appear in game.
*When Slash Blade mod is installed but Abigail Williams Mod is not installed, player can still obtain this trinket, although cannot unlock its full mechanism.
*When both Slash Blade and Abigail Williams are installed, player will be able to unleash the extremely mighty yet equally risky power of this trinket.

2) To cooperate with the linkage trinket, the quirk "Everything Known" that can be acquired by pancake has been remade, details are as follows:
*Due to technique reasons, any existing old Everything Known quirk in old savefiles will quickly erase itself automatically after the hero enters any dungeon and walk several steps.
*We are sorry for the above inconvenient side effects, as a compensation for old savefiles, the chance to acquire Everything Known quirk by eating pancake has been raised from 25% to 100%.
*Everything Known quirk now can be acquired by Abigail Williams herself too, in order to allow Abigail be able to unleash the full power of "Blade of Asamjni <Tri-sahasra-lokadhatu Nirodha>" too.
*Due to that Abigail is immune to quirk or disease's round start act-outs, the meme design "sometimes try to preach weird dogma?" of Everything Known quirk will ALWAYS NOT be triggered on Abigail.
*When Vanilla Weaken Patch is activated, due to that Sanity Check mechanism will also be applied on Abigail herself, Everything Known quirk now can help Abigail halve the penalty from Sanity Lost, just like other heroes.
*When Vanilla Weaken Patch is not activated, due to that Sanity Check mechanism will not influence Abigail herself, Everything Known quirk will NOT have ANY actual effect on Abigail, just occupies one negative quirk slot.

3) To cooperate with the linkage trinket, the requirement to trigger the additional effect of item "Black Lotus" has been changed from "If user has quirk Everything Known or is Abigail" to "If user has quirk Everything Known or Nirodha Samapatti".
Note: The Asamjni Samapatti and Nirodha Samapatti are two new special quirks that can only be acquired when equipping "Blade of Asamjni <Tri-sahasra-lokadhatu Nirodha>".

4) Due to an AI BUG from vanilla game, when Disable Skill debuff is applied on monsters who have Capture mechanism, the monster might be forced to use Capture skill when it actually shouldn't do that, as Disable Skill debuff had prevented it to use any other skills.
This phenomenon might lead to crash and savefile softlock, thus after this update, whenever the Silence mechanism (Disable All Skills) of "Gaze of Abyss" skill is triggered, the following monsters on the battlefield will temporarily aquire immunity towards the Disable Skill mechanism with the equal duration:
[1] fanatic from vanilla game DLC
[2] hag from vanilla game
[3] cact_alraune from Black Reliquary
[4] cact_alraune_alt from Black Reliquary
[5] unclean_hybrid from Vermintide

5) Due to the crash risk mentioned above, the Bond Battle BOSS is now immune to Disable Skill throughout the entire battle.
Note: Abigail herself (including Dreamland Mode Abigail) and the Doppelganger Shadow are already immune to Disable Skill before this update.

Fix a bug that game will crash if the official DLC COM (color of madness) is not enabled.

Update: 26 Jan @ 3:07am

1) Fixed a bug: +1 extra turn mechanism of the hidden skill "Final Prayer" is not functional correctly after last update.

2) Fixed a bug: HOT (healing over time) effect of the trinket "Golden Mead" is not functional correctly.

3) Fixed a bug: while Abigail's NP Gauge recharge was supposed to be automatically cleared during camping (which was indeed cleared on actual coding), but the visible description of NP Gauge is not cleared accordingly, result in a bug that after camping Abigail's actual NP Gauge value might not match her visible description.

4-1) Crimson Court trinket Samuel Paris: Fixed a bug: in certain rare situations, the Coordinate Attack might be triggered incorrectly when Abigail is in Priest Mode.

4-2) Crimson Court trinket Samuel Paris: Balance Adjustment: Now when Abigail is stunned, she can no longer trigger the Coordinate Attack of trinket Samuel Paris, even if she is already in Witch or Outer-God Mode.

5) Slightly remake the special animation of the Outer-God All-In-One punishment triggered by the certain "ignore death's door" user-selected-target skill of Darkest Dungeon final BOSS.
Slightly remake the portal animation of "Gate to Enchanted Wood" in Dreamland Noble Phantasm.
Both the above animation changes have no influence on their actual gameplay mechanism.

Update: 27 Dec, 2024 @ 7:29am

1-1) Trinket "Sigil of the Gateway": decrease the reflect damage from 25% per alive enemy to 10% per alive enemy.
1-2) Trinket "Sigil of the Gateway": the wearer now no longer suffer reflect damage from this trinket if they are at death's door.
Note: the wearer is only freed from this trinket's reflect damage at death's door, but not freed from any other source of reflect damage, such as when actual reflection buff already exists on the target.

2) Remake the workaround of Trinket "Randolph Carter" mechanism "Drain 3 HP if the Attacker has Bypassed Riposte", in order to avoid crash when Abigail is attacked by certain monsters.
ps. The actual gameplay function of trinket "Randolph Carter" is not changed. For players, it will be just the same as before.

3) The experimental mechanism "all heroes will lose their equipped trinkets until the battle wins" during the 7th period of Bond Battle has been removed.
It might be a pity to remove this special experimental mechanism, but it indeed has too many side effects and might be unstable under certain circumstance, thus we finally decide to abandon it.

Update: 19 Dec, 2024 @ 3:51am

1) Change the localization about "buff_rule_tooltip_torch_setting", in order to be compatible with other mods (for example: Miscreant).

2-1) Optimized the life drain workaround of "Flesh Curse" mechanism. Now it is no longer based on skill rule, thus will not interfere the cursed ones' debuff chance in their riposte skills or was-hit triggers if they are attacked by Abigail.
2-2) Optimized the life drain workaround of "Flesh Curse" mechanism. Now it no longer uses the "Steal Self" workaround on the buff source "bsrc_vampire", which means Abigail Williams will no longer conflict with any mod on the buff source "bsrc_vampire".
ps. The actual gameplay function of "Flesh Curse" mechanism is not changed. For players, it will be just the same as before.

3) Optimized the crystal trinket "Lavinia Whateley", the workaround of "Redeemed Heroes: Can't be Critically Hit by Damage" has been re-wrote, it will no longer stack too many unnecessary buffs on heroes or monsters.
ps. The actual gameplay function of trinket "Lavinia Whateley" is not changed. For players, it will be just the same as before.

4) Remake the crystal trinket "Randolph Carter", the old effect "On Riposte Hit: Remove Target 1 Round" is abandoned due to buff duration problem and risk when round is forced to be ended by using negative initiative_change.
Now trinket "Randolph Carter" provides a new mechanism: "Drain 3 HP if the Attacker has Bypassed Riposte". Note that this special mechanism will not trigger if Abigail is not in Witch or Outer-God Mode, or has successfully dodged the attack, or is stunned.

5-1) Optimized the hidden skill "Final Prayer", now it will still correctly grant extra action to all heroes even if all heroes on the battlefield are stunned.
5-2) The hidden skill "Final Prayer" now provide an additional effect that give all heroes max resistance to stress when virtued or afflicted, which means all heroes will have fixed -80% stress received percent when virtued or afflicted.
ps. The value of max stress resist, or in other words, the minimum stress received percent, is a global rule set as "0.2" by RedHook (that's why it's -80%). Abigail Williams does not change it, but be warned: it might be altered by other mods, thus cause "max stress resist" of Final Prayer to be changed too.

6) Add a description to the hidden skill "Gates of Silver Key" that mind control will be dispelled on all heroes before the teleportation begins. This feature is already added in certain old version, only lacks skill description.

7) Fix a bug that when in endless quest and when Abigail is in Dreamland Mode, Abigail didn't correctly exit Dreamland Mode immediately when the teleport monster "gatekeeper" appears, leading to the result that Abigail get lost in endless quest.

8) Optimized the automatic debug mechanism towards "gatekeeper" in Dreamland Mode, now Abigail no longer modify the code of official DLC monster "gatekeeper".
Thus Abigail Williams mod now neither needs to be put above other mods that contain "gatekeeper" data any longer, nor needs to have the official DLC "Color of Madness" as pre-installation requirement any longer too.
The requirement of official DLC "Color of Madness" has been removed from the workshop page of Abigail Williams.

9) Optimized the automatic debug mechanism towards Crimson Court Boss "Baron" and Black Reliquary Boss "Trog Gastrosaur" in Dreamland Mode.
To the details, when Abigail Williams is in Dreamland Mode, she will automatically exit her Dreamland Mode immediately if Baron or Trog Gastrosaur exists on the battlefield, in order to avoid Abigail being killed instantly by these bosses when they cast specific skills.

10) Optimized the automatic debug mechanism towards Sunward Isles Boss "Nurarihyon" in Dreamland Mode.
To the details, when Abigail Williams is in Dreamland Mode, she will automatically exit her Dreamland Mode immediately if Nurarihyon exists on the battlefield, in order to avoid Abigail being treated as death when Nurarihyon is defeated.
Note: Due to the fact that some "Non-Endlessly Endless Quest" such as "A Light in the Sky" does not have a final boss as quest goal at all, players must still aviod using "Faraway Dreamlands" during the ending battle of these endless quests while it's about to complete, otherwise Dreamland Mode Abigail will still get lost in Dreamlands when the quest completes.

11) Due to the fact that in endless quest, there might be situation that only Dreamland Mode Abigail exists on the monster side while there are no other monsters but the battle is indeed not finished yet (e.g. the last wave monsters have just been killed and the new wave have not yet arrived), thus now Abigail will not auto exit Dreamland Mode before the duration expires even if there is no other monsters.

12) Optimized the workaround of Familiar Aura, merge the Familiar pet animations and decreased the number of buffFX used in it, in order to lower the crash risk when click this skill under certain circumstance.

13) Once again we have tried another new workaround to fixe the old stubborn bug that "Return 1 Round" mechanism of Hymm Chant and Familiar Aura might incorrectly grant extra round to wrong target under certain circumstance.

14) Fixed a bug that during 7th period of Bond Battle, heroes might lost their defend animation when they are attacked by the Bond Boss.

15) Remake the pyre during 5th period of Bond Battle, now the pyre won't crash if it is killed by true damage.
Besides, fix a rare bug: under certain circumstance, the pyre might still remain alive after releasing the victim, thus cause the Bond BOSS unable to change phase correctly.

16) To make sure the high risk workaround which is concerned with buff source "bsrc_district" not to cause permanent changes to savefiles, now any buff involved by buff source "bsrc_district" will auto remove itself when any battle completes.
ps. This insurance measure is based on "remove_on_battle_complete" parameter, it won't influence other heroes, and won't influence real district buffs.
ps. Abigail Williams mod didn't steal any buff from the source "bsrc_district", and will never do that in the future too, otherwise it will cause permanent changes to savefiles.

17) The text descriptions of "Aura of Madness" has been renamed as "Vision of Madness", while the text descriptions of "Dreamland Passive" and "Outer-God Passive" have been respectively renamed as "Dreamland Aura" and "Outer-God Aura".

Update: 15 Aug, 2024 @ 7:51pm

1) Voice & Dialogue System is now completely seperated from the main mod.
This seperated new patch is named as "Abigail Williams Base Voice & Dialogue Patch", see readme for more details.

2) Add a special counter reaction towards the instant-death skill of the Darkest Dungeon final BOSS (here its name is hidden for the sake of possible spoiler).
When Abigail is exactly killed by the certain "ignore death's door" user-selected-target skill of Darkest Dungeon final BOSS, the Outer-God All-In-One will impose its punishment.

3) Fix a bug that when overcharge is above 100%, Outer-God Noble Phantasm has applied an incorrect healing penalty on the target, which should not apply.

4-1) Add a special experimental mechanism during the 7th period of Bond Battle, that all heroes will lose their equipped trinkets until the battle wins.

4-2) Add a description on the 7th period of Bond BOSS to inform players that they only need to reduce the BOSS's current HP lower than 90% in order to win the battle.
BOSS HP threshold is increased from 50% to 90%, and max HP is increased as multiplied by five, thus the total damage players need to inflict to win the battle is not changed after this update.

5) The powerful protective aura in the Bond Battle which aim at preventing heroes from death is extended from 6th & 7th period to 5th period, so that the difficulty of Bond Battle is lowered to almost zero after this update.
(The Bond Battle is more an experimental and lore-friendly story-telling episode, rather than a real BOSS fight. That's why we don't want to make it difficult.)

6) Fix an old stubborn bug that initiative change mechanism might be redirect to false target during the spawn effects.
Although we cannot completely fix this issue, the ccurring probability of this annoying bug will be significantly lowered after this update.
(Besides, this bug is also the reason why the Thing from vanilla game will infinitely repeat its "Return to the Stars" skill when there is only one hero on the battlefield.)

7) The two special hidden skills now will only show a icon of question mark when they are not unlocked, as they are "Hidden" skills.
Their real icon will show themselves when player has unlocked them by leveling them to LV5.
(Note: you cannot unlock the two hidden skills when "Abigail Williams Vanilla Weaken Patch" is enabled.)

8) Enlarge the height of Outer-God Aura background visual effect once again, in order to avoid showing blank section on the upper side of Outer-God Aura background, if the battle is started in certain High ceiling room.

9)By using PNG compression software "Caesium Image Compressor", the size of all PNG files in AbigailWilliams mod and its patches will be reduce by using lossless compression method.
Hope this PNG compression method can provide help for lowering the risk of "The Overflow of Computer Memory" when players have installed too many mods.
