@★' Snky #talk soon, off to bed !
I'm not quite sure what you mean. If you are referring to the particle effects, those were made using the built in particle system. If you're talking about the ship movement and turret movement, those were coded by me. Once again, I'm not really sure what your trying to point out, but I do appreciate the feedback.
$_ 6 Jan, 2013 @ 8:44pm
Not to be too insulting, but if we look at the way you coded the ship and also the AI of the enemies, we can clearly see those effects were not produced by yourself.

great game very challanging and that makes it fun. My input would be if it is possible to add mouse click buttons to change the weapons. I find it hard and irritating when you're trying to change the weapons for the speed booster and instead of swaping it gets used and pushes u forward and u lose a ton of heath before it actually switches
Darkrain 1 Nov, 2012 @ 6:28pm
I like the game, but mashing (and holding) feel too easy. I tried to figure out what weapons work best on what enemies, and build a strategey, but I die too fast if I don't mash. Other than that it's a really good example of a scrolling shooter! Good job!
JKong  [author] 23 Oct, 2012 @ 10:30am
New update! I heard the complaints about the mashing, and have implemented a new system that will let you HOLD the button to fire. If you do decide to mash though, the turrets will fire faster. So that gives you some options. Let me know what you think of the changes.
Undare 22 Oct, 2012 @ 8:52pm
It drinks a large Amount of memory and crash...

In the other side
I really love the effects of bullets, but the mashing thing broke mi arm, jaja.
May i suggest a mouse mash and hold for all the turrents?
Btw Good Work!
WhiskeyFur 19 Oct, 2012 @ 9:34pm
Thank you for the quick response. I didn't know how bad the mashing mechanism is until 5 seconds into playing it my wrist exploded in pain.. that's.. not good.

The game doesn't suck, my carpal tunnel does.
JKong  [author] 19 Oct, 2012 @ 8:40pm
You can also think of this game like a sport. Sports usually have a mental strategic side and a physical ability side.
Likewise, "Core" has a strategy side (which turrets to use, when to use them, which lane to be in) and a physical side (how fast you can physically fire the turrets).
So the extra "physical" element gives it a unique twist in a sense that you can "train" at the game, not just "practice" the game. If that makes sense.
Neon Nanite 19 Oct, 2012 @ 8:37pm
Thanks for the explanation. Sounds good. :D
dun dun dun DON 19 Oct, 2012 @ 8:33pm
you get used to the mashing on the third day of playing. Plus, isnt it funny how the game looks like it was designed for a Mortal Kombat fight stick?(joystick + 6 buttons)
JKong  [author] 19 Oct, 2012 @ 8:32pm
We've gotten that comment from playtesters before, the one about the mashing mechanic being hard on hands and keyboards. Unfortunately, when you take out the mashing, the game looses that "physical" element and becomes a rather watered down scrolling shooter (and we saw our playtesters become bored rather quickly).

Its impossible to make a game that will please everyone, and often in trying to do so, you end up pleasing noone. So in this case, we've decided to hold our ground and stick to our original design concept of making a game with that "physical" element.

The game is definitely not good for long play sessions, but you know those times when you just wanna...unleash yourself? This game can help you do just that. Particle effects included.

So sorry if we can't add a feature like auto-firing, but if you see a potential workaround or solution, be sure to post it.
Neon Nanite 19 Oct, 2012 @ 8:18pm
Some games have slightly slower autoshooting and then an option to button mash for faster shooting. I also can't play this sort of game for very long mainly because of the button mashing.
The number pad makes it slightly easier though, thank you. :)
WhiskeyFur 19 Oct, 2012 @ 8:14pm
I'm not really digging that whole mashing game mechanic. It's hard on the keyboard and my hand as I have carpal tunnel. Any chance you can just hold down the buttons to get the same effect as mashing?

Updated!
- Added more info to game description.
- Added support for Number pad controls.

This game is now going to be part of the October Workshop Competetion so please show your support and help us out.

Thanks for playing, and enjoy!

I started with speed booster, rocket, and shield breaker with shield on the bottom-right flank and about 3/4 through i swapped the speed booster with the grenade turret.
Neon Nanite 19 Oct, 2012 @ 7:42pm
Ohh no sorry, I just remembered the wrong keys, I had left the game when I made my last comment and were remembering wrong already. :P

Been playing this since Tuesday. My highscore's 6.8 mil. What's your guys'. Also whatre your strategies?
JKong  [author] 19 Oct, 2012 @ 7:32pm
Thanks for commenting. As for the controls right now, it should be U I O, J K L. Did the game say yui, hjk? and the number pad idea sounds great! I can put that in real quick, thanks for the suggestion!
Neon Nanite 19 Oct, 2012 @ 7:29pm
I played it.... I can't say I've played this type of game before and had no clue what I was doing but the graphics are great and so is the music. :D
Perhaps you can make a tiny tutorial level that explains how to rotate the turrets properly and how to play it in general? Just a suggestion. :)

Edit: I tried again and I did get the turret switching working... I think... Atleast I think I switched one of my turrets.
Anyway, I didn't play more than one round. the turret and shooting buttons are in a rather awkward position if you ask me, and my arm and finger got real tired real fast. :)
Might I suggest keeping the yui,hjk buttons but adding the option of using 789,456 for those of us with a number pad?
JKong  [author] 19 Oct, 2012 @ 6:59pm
Thanks for all the feedback! And by all means, please keep pointing out what you like and what you don't like. I've already started addressing some of your comments with my team (although "it was crap" was kinda ambiguous). So please, keep that feedback comming.

Good game, just need more moving enemy, more levels and maybe powerups that drop.
✿ JnZ ✿ 19 Oct, 2012 @ 6:46am
I tried it and enjoyed. Fast-paced and with some cool mechanics!
Nice work. Keep up!

"i played this game, but I did not enjoy it (no offence just not my cup of tea :)"

There you go. No offense but it's incredibly offensive to call someone's hard work crap just because you didn't enjoy it. ;)
