As to why racials were removed, it was probably the same reason why racial storylines and quests, ~75% of codex entries, multiple bosses, and a ton of quests were removed - no reason whatsoever.
Why did they remove racial weapons? That gave the game more substance to role play......
Updated. Either resubscribe or restart Steam to force the update to download.

The T- was used under two considerations:
1) It made batch production of patch files for 242 different items take only a couple minutes with pattern replacement.
2) Depending on screen size and font, the separator gives a little more clarity due to spacing without pushing far enough for vanilla UI overrun. That and the spacing alternate, whitespace, just never sits well with me for abbreviations.
I'll be leaving it as stands.
