Hi Benzolamps, or anyone who has an answer. I tried to start SC but I get 'Unable to load level'. I have the req DLC and I used WinXp Lagacy settings. Any Idea?

Hi Benzolamps, I've played through the first two worlds of this map, and I'm enjoying it a lot so far! However, when I try to enter world 3, I get an error that says "Content required to load this level is currently not available", and I get sent back to the game's starting screen (Yes, I do have the Prototype and Gehenna DLCs installed). From looking at the console.log I seem to be missing the snowman model...not sure why.

Cannot make the jump correctly in Moonlet, apparently it requires such precise timing that 100 attempts at every tiny possible interval does not land the mine inside. I consider it very poor design for this reason, which is too bad, because other puzzles (in 1, 2, 3 so far) are strong and interesting, and world 2's nighttime castles look gorgeous.

I'll also give my opinion on favorite/least favorite levels:
Favorite:
- Suspend (even though I was defeated by it, I still think it's brilliant--I went back and did it again several times just to marvel at how it works).
- Domino (almost as awesome as Suspend; one of those puzzles that feels impossible until you realize the function of a few elements, in this case, the weak fan and later the switch ).
- Teeterboard (this one was fun to figure out and even more fun to do again a few times after I had solved it--I like puzzles where you stay busy while recording)

Least favorite:
- C'est La Vie (concept is OK, but it wasn't fun repeatedly failing to execute what I understood immediately that I needed to do)
- Guards Are Friends, Too! (another easy one, but in principle I don't like being expected to go outside the puzzle boundaries for a regular sigil)
- Moonlet
- Poppy in Tears (pretty boring the way I solved it, and I felt cheated when I saw the intended solution)
eyedunno11 6 Jul, 2020 @ 12:48pm
As for cheese, I cheesed Milky Way Lovers (only slightly-- I found the angle to shut it down by connecting blue to the innermost red connector, but otherwise basically did it as intended ) and Poppy in Tears ( I was able to jam the turret while a recorded jammer took care of the key barrier, but honestly, this still feels like less of a cheese to me than the intended solution does! My first attempt to solve it was in the intended way, but I got flustered when I went through the purple and my recording stopped--I didn't notice that I had enough time to still make it to the sigil, and completely gave up on doing it that way. )

I also cheesed the world 4 sphinx star ( managed to get a smuggled connector to hit the button--in my defense, using a recording to hit a button like that didn't work in Outfall, so I wrote it off! ) and the world 6 star ( parkour ).
eyedunno11 6 Jul, 2020 @ 12:33pm
Just finished all the puzzles in this. I needed some hints for the end of Gap (though I felt dumb after I saw it, having tried for almost an hour to make the fan cycle by crossing red beams), Suspend (a brilliant Rube Goldberg device puzzle--I completely failed to see the crucial angle), and the final messenger island puzzle (to be honest, I was just exhausted by this point and probably would have thought of this eventually), as well as two stars (world 2-- I literally checked every other torch and went into the area where the switch was with a box, but didn't check that one! ) and world 5 terminal (genius-- I didn't even think to use up my attempts, instead choosing to scour as much as I could think of trying to find the number ).

Anyway, some brilliant stuff here, especially some of the jammer-based puzzles. Jammers seem to get a bit of short shrift in workshop maps, so this was nice.

@自鳴琴 Thanks for your video. I can accept all your solutions except draw back. I've updated the content. I'm sorry to tell you that your solution of Draw Back is no longer applicable. Thanks to Talos update, the steam workshop is not compatible, this content is only compatible to old legacy build.
自鳴琴 24 Sep, 2019 @ 3:51pm
Also i have found some alternative solutions for several puzzles:

1. W3 "Milky Way Lovers". My solution is completely different - as the first fan-part and so the second gate-part.
https://youtu.be/Flr2wIHMMfM

2. W4 "Draw back". My solution not so colourful as yours, but i can get the sigil and the star at once.:)
https://youtu.be/HmRo7Enmd1U

3. W4 "Teeterboard". This solution came to my head when i saw your attached screenshot.:)
https://youtu.be/o5GoUDT_xvQ

4. W5 "Domino". Someone already told you about this method but it was the same way i pass it for the first time. Is it legit? https://youtu.be/7wjyHiuQExI

5. Also "Domino" has some serious vulnerability with items that can ruin the whole world 5. https://youtu.be/RHiCQlDxUkA

6. W6 "Poppy in Tears" has some exploit solution.

Thank you for this wonderful campaign! Puzzles were very hard but very well-designed and really enjoyable.

Unfortunately, i couldn't take the last star because its bugged now (i think that the reason of this is the new version of the game - 440323). Im telling about the star in world 3 puzzle "Suspend". I always dying near the plaform (i tried many times). Here is the proof: https://youtu.be/DQJVUFL9ltM

【during playback you can't pick up item】is a bug of time recorder.
Strange Yeah 2 Sep, 2019 @ 1:57am
Benzolamps - two things. The first is that Schrondinger's Cat is a magnificent set of puzzles. They're often very difficult but they're brilliantly thought out and very satisfying to solve. The second thing is that Teeterboard, in World 4, can no longer be solved. Everything is normal during recording, but during playback you can't pick up items. I don't know if that can be fixed, but I hope so. Thanks again for a great map.
barrymead 30 Mar, 2019 @ 2:15pm
Spread the word! If authors do decide to UPDATE their maps to be compatible with the new version of Talos, then it would be a good idea to save these new maps under a new unique name like "Updated Schrodinger's Cat" so that the many users who have reverted their Talos to "Previous Version" to be able to play existing workshop maps don't have their favorite older maps destroyed. If you are subscribed to a map and it gets updated then Talos AUTOMATICALLY OVERWRITES that map with the newer version. This is a desirable behavior normally, but not if you have downgraded your Talos to "Previous Version". In this situation your map gets overwritten by an incompatible newer map that will only run on the latest version of Talos. Keeping the maps separate with separate "Subscribe" selectors is the only way to prevent angry users. The UPDATE process involves getting the new version of the Editor and re-saving and re-zipping the gro file before uploading it to the Workshop.

Make a slight adjustment to Poppy in Tears in world 6.
barrymead 15 Dec, 2018 @ 6:11pm
This video shows how one can blow up the Zone 6 Star Turret using only a connector broken out of Detour (not using the jammer or timer). It was made with the 12/15/18 version of the game.
https://youtu.be/r9Dyy_aIOnE
barrymead 15 Dec, 2018 @ 5:22pm
Benzolamps: If one wanted to eliminate the jammer breakout weakness in Detour, one could raise the height of the Detour outer fence a bit more, and put a purple barrier around the flying box area so that the box can only stay in the fan flight area where it is designed to be used (The flying box by the Zone 6 Star). This same purple barrier would also fix the exploit where the box is used to jump onto the walls to get the star or the aphphi sigil, or used with the Guided Slide trick to break the jammer out of Detour.
The attached video link illustrates Kazz's Box Stacking Trick to break out the Jammer. The video was made with the 12/14/18 version of Schrodinger's Cat. I also confirmed that the exploit still works with the 12/15/18 version. https://youtu.be/TSZV440hWQE
Benzolamps  [author] 14 Dec, 2018 @ 4:46pm
@barrymead prevent taking the jammer out.
barrymead 14 Dec, 2018 @ 4:41pm
Benzolamps: I replayed the game and the only change that I could see is that you can no-longer grab items from atop the box over the fence in Poppy In Tears the way you used to. This means that a RESET is absolutely required between the Poppy In Tears sigil and the Zone 6 star, because the connector cannot be returned to the other side of the fence without it now. I see why you did this to prevent people from grabbing the jammer over the fence not the connector.

what exactly does the torch switch in the halloween puzzle do? i used it but i didn't see what happened.
barrymead 15 Oct, 2018 @ 12:59pm
I publish videos to prove what I say is truthful. There is a way to get the jammer out into the main
square where it can be used to jam the turret guarding the World 6 Star. This video demonstrates the "Guided Slide" speedrunning trick for jammer breakout. To do a "Guided Slide" while holding the breakout item (jammer) and looking at the jump footprints on the cube through the purple barrier, you press Escape, then Hold Down Jump, then press Escape again and quickly double click the drop/pickup item mouse button.

actually you just have jump on a few pillars and rocks fallen appart on the side of the map with the box

Coquettish operation!:taloslol:
barrymead 22 Sep, 2018 @ 6:56pm
c_j_diana: I think I figured out how you use the cube to get on the wall near apophi. There is a secton of wall with grassy shelves. If you bring the box to that area you can see footprints on one of the grassy shelves to jump on from the box. From there you can make your way up to the top of the wall where you can reach apophi and drop down on the apophi sigil. The fallowing video demonstrates this technique. https://youtu.be/n0uOu4xj4-c

and i actually ment apophi
c_j_diana 17 Jul, 2018 @ 12:36pm
aparently i found that the star exploit on the wall can also be used to exploit apopi huh.... unless thats the intentional solution and im stupid

zeo1337 23 Feb, 2018 @ 5:34pm
Wow am I seriously the only one that got the world 6 star easy? i just brought the cube up to the jammer, put it on the fan and jumped on the cube on it's way up. Easily took the jammer out of the room and jammed the turret.
Mauritsio 28 Jan, 2018 @ 6:02am
I consistenly experience a crash attempting to access the first green sigil arranger. Only the O and I sigils appear in their slots, and the game crashes before I can do anything. I have the green sigil from the Guards puzzle.

Antman: The World 2 star in Break Jamming is a well known trick, but the World 6 star method you describe is something I have never heard before! Cool Discovery. You have to place the cube at the very end of the high side of the fallen pillar for the jump to work.
Antman 27 Dec, 2017 @ 6:34pm
And another way to get the star in world 6.
You can use the box to get onto the wall where the fallen column is, and then just run across the roof to the star and avoid the turret.

请问做塔罗斯地图需要什么软件,游戏本身带制作工具么?:bbtcat:
Antman 26 Dec, 2017 @ 9:48pm
Hi, I found an alternate way to get the star in Break Jamming, world 2.
From Halloween, even if you haven't solved it, you can get onto the walls and take the box with you. You then have to leave the box behind in order to get onto the higher walls near the entrance, but from there you can go all the way around into Break Jamming and into the star area.

Dr. Strangelove 9 Dec, 2017 @ 1:49pm
Thanks for the info. Tbh I resolved it differently: after ensuring that I had correctly figured the solution, checked it was the intended one and that it should have worked, I used cheats to get the star. This is a puzzle game after all.
barrymead 9 Dec, 2017 @ 1:35pm
Dr. Strangelove: By strategically locating the blue source connector after completeing "Detour", and by setting things up as I do in my video, you can have a better chance that however the blue flying box connector lands it will connect with the receiver. On the final timer sequence, if you listen carefully, you can tell if the blue receiver counter reaches completion and quickly repeat the sequence if it doesn't. if you deactivate and immediately reactivate the jammer on the blue box during the first phase (recording phase) of the timer sequence it makes repeats possible. Set things up as I do in my video, and you will never have to leave the "Poppy in Tears" level or reset the flying box/connector. You can repeat the sequence many times if needed until the blue connector lands properly.
Dr. Strangelove 29 Nov, 2017 @ 1:19pm
This is a very high quality campagin full of challenging and creative puzzles. However I'm having a problem with the level 6 star which I don't think is normal. When the box+connector land on the "blue" side, 9 times out of 10 the connector topples and land in such a way that the box bocks the path to the blue receiver . I could not find a reliable way to make it land properly , so I doubt this is intended. Anyone advice?
Dreckstoele 26 Nov, 2017 @ 12:53pm
great work, thanx a lot!
woghks9097 22 Nov, 2017 @ 4:58am
really?? talos principle 2 comes out?
barrymead 19 Nov, 2017 @ 4:31am
woghks9097: I believe that these are the only two dlc packages that cost money. There are some free dlc packages like "Additional Laser Colors" that might be needed for some campaigns (Holy Days for instance) but you should be good for all dlc content that costs money. At least until Talos Princple 2 comes out.
woghks9097 17 Nov, 2017 @ 10:30pm
Thank you for your advice, I understand why dlc is necessary, so last question I have,

if I have gehenna, prototype, No problem in the future, right?
barrymead 17 Nov, 2017 @ 12:35pm
In my humble opinion it is a POSITIVE that the author used textures and images from a wide variety of dlc content to ENRICH the visual quality of the game and create stunning new content.
The Protoype DLC is a bargain at only $4.99 US. As someone who has played through the "Schrodinger's Cat" campaign several times and loved it, I can attest that it is worth the price.
Gelatinous Mass 12 Nov, 2017 @ 2:29am
Loved it! Probably my favorite non-official campaign.

You did a great job making the game's familiar scenery feel original, and I enjoyed the additional music. Good use of computer terminals and QR codes to spice up the world, particularly in "Draw Back" (the terrific recorder puzzle).

Most importantly: excellent puzzle design! The puzzles complemented each other very well; it never felt like I was simply completing the same one over and over. And great use of smaller puzzles, ones that are diabolical in their simplicity, especially that brilliant final puzzle. Bravo!

Oh, and I really enjoyed your story!
Benzolamps  [author] 2 Nov, 2017 @ 4:04am
@shlan Thanks for you comment, glad you enjoy it.
