Thanks, yes the best way to survive fire is to not get hit. My first fighter was a Shadowbolt that 64 m/s in every direction. Since that was my first, I just can't stand to fly anything slower now.

@thenewpav Yes, very good Values your light Fighter has! Good one!
I see, you also got addicted to fast accelerating and strafing vessels like I am ;-)

I used a DH MkIII on one survival game and it was definitley my largest fighter. I've recently begun building my own stuff, and this is my revised very first fighter. Tried to make it high performance and still light and reasonably well armed with some extras. A concept special forces stealth plane with a passenger seat used for insertion/extraction/rescue and special ops support behind enemy lines.

@thenewpav you're right. It's always a matter of how much armor and heavy components versus manoeverability. Another problem for SVs is that there isn't an upgrade to the RCS like for the CVs. This ships needs over 100 to get some good Pitch/Yaw (for me values around 10 are superb, >6 adequate, <3 not enough).

If you check the MKIII (or the MKII) version, you'll see similar performance but with way less RCS and Thruster usage. The reason like you already said is, they're smaller and much lighter.

This Fighter is meant as a somewhat real-size Heavy-Attack-Fighter, not one small Kids-Toy ;-)
A Fighter I take out in Survival to conquer a complete World on Hard Difficulty
(that is 1) Destroy PV, capture PV-Base, Remove all turrets from all POIs. then if I'm in the mood capture the Drone Base too, or get my CV BASE STAR down to the planet first and then capture that Base.) without worrying I could loose...

When I compare the MKI against this... oh my... Kids Toy... really... haha ;-)

You probably won't get much as maneuverable at that size, but I've seen a couple fighters that get 75 m/s thrust acceleration in multiple directions, a few more in the 60's. Generally, the lighter, the faster though I did see a fairly heavy one get 75, not this heavy though.

@Krougal: only the OMEGA-Fighter will have that problem, not the DroneHunters ;-)
The Mark III is still a very very good Combat Fighter... but this new Mark V has more Weapons ;-)

No shit? I didn't even know they were there, glad I haven't taken my Mk3 out for a run since before latest build. Nice work on all your ships Rucky.
