I'd set them nice and high level and super hard like mini bosses in order to get the element as a reward, they should not be easy.
Would also be good if you gave them their own dino tag reference so that their spawn weight and multipliers can be adjusted in addition to or separate from the current in game alphas.

maybe you could go 1 step further and have them make an amount of element per day, so people could catch them and feed them electronic chip and metal or something and then poop out element lol
@dee272, The dinos were not ment to be tamed, and i was working on a new version of this mod before my pc died which made them stronger, and untameable.
@^bdc, yes, it was initially a bug. i went back and forth about what i planned on doing with the mod to fix it, i added it to all drop tables but the chance was only happening for raptor carno etc. i debated putting it as a harvest from eatting the corpse instead. but i forget what i did in the end. if you want i would give the 2.0 beta version a try and see if it is more to your liking.
the 2.0 beta mod will replace this one if i can get back to working on it eventually. where some become essentially mini bosses etc and reward everyone in the area with rewards of element for helping kill it. but this is down the line as IRL has not been too kind to me as of late.

The difficulty will be ramped up tremendously, i have a few ideas of making it a bit more interesting as well. But if i can get the dinos to give element 100% of the time it will not be an issue to do a flat ammount of element. if i cannot get that method to work, harvesting with modified values might be the best way around it. but again,
it will take some testing to see what is possible. and there is always the resource settings availible to be tuned down from gather options as well. So there are lots of ways to counter these things :)
I'm sorry to say that but in my opinion, it's not a good idea to set the elements to be harvested from dead corpses.
I think most of the servers admins like me want to have a fix amount of elements dropped, we don't want the element farming too easy or too cheaty
You said it'll scale to our servers settings, it's true it'll scale with the harvesting multiplier but also with the damage stats of the dinos who will harvest. And during week-ends events the harvesting multiplier are always doubled...
So the amount elements will become uncontrollable for us
So personally, I'd prefer a fix amount like it is actually 🙂
It's better for me because if I think it's too easy to farm elements, I can deactivate spawning of some elemental alphas
Actually I'm trying to set my server with only mosasaurs and thusothetis for instance (and it doesn't work, they just don't spawn I don't know why, I'm on ragnarok map)

As for the ammount dropped, i wanted to try a new method this time around that gives 100% chance of drops, but scales based on your server setup. So, instead of looting it from a corpse, you will be able to harvest it from their dead bodies. That being said, it will scale based off your server harvest rates, ideally. unless something happens from now till then. I am open to suggestions.
Along with this, i will be adding a few things to the drop tables if they dont drop normally in game as well. like a blue print of the harpoon gun will drop off of high level rex's, or maybe something like that, i havnt decided yet.
And do you have an idea when it'll be ready? Is it more in days, weeks, months...?

@Clonie it for sure has working sharks, wasnt to sure if the squid and mosa spawned correctly however
I've been waiting for a dev kit update for months to work on my Tek mod, and now this one. They are looking at earliest time for dev kit update to be about January some time.
