The buff only effects -undead- units. Mortal units, same faction/army even, are not effected.

Sooooo. . . What happens in the event a mortal army allied to the VC reinforces them during a battle? Will they be subject to the bonus? Assuming that will ever happen anyways.

Love this mod!
So far, seems to work as described.

Does this still work with the latest update or will it crash as it says it's outdated x
Nickamus  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 2:18pm
And I imagine this remained in effect across multiple battles with different lords? Were they perhaps reinforced by a commander unit from a nearby garrison?

I dont know if you are still paying attention to this thread as its been a year since anyone has posted in it but, Ive been having some trouble with it.
So Ive been playing an empire Campaign and am having a huge war with the VC, at first the mod was working just fine and just as intended, it made the game much more challenging which I was into.

However mid game (I didnt close the game and relaunch it the game was never shut down) 1 battle it was working the next it wasnt, the Undead forces would get the +100 Leadership despite the fact I killed all of their Generals, which is really frustrating as it turned a challenging playthrough into a nearly impossible Playthrough as now I have to kill every last one instead of picking out Vampires.

Oh well, like you said it would probably have been done already if it was possible. Thanks for trying though!! Can't wait to take the new version out for a spin with SFO!

Hey Everyone,

I just posted my new mod, a Vampire Count faction overhaul that works with the great Steel Faith mod. They have been gracious enough to green light the mod, and it is out now for you to enjoy!

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Ultimate Undead - Vampire Count Faciton Overhaul for Steel Faith:

This mod is incompatible with Lords of the Undead, but it does bring a lot more to the table!

Hey James,

Another update - I was able to remove crumbling effects and leave Undead in place, however the units will still not route if they have the Undead attribute, and I don't see a way around that one for Blood Knights/Varghiests/etc.

Hey James,

I don't t think its possible...

I tested with crypt ghouls. I was able to remove Undead from them, but I couldn't get the game to remove the crumbling abilities. However, I tried out a test battle and lo and behold, without the undead attribute the ghouls routed like anything else - no crumbling activated at any point. Which is great, but that poses a problem for units like Vargheists and blood knights. They ARE undead and removing the undead tag means you can't heal them with invocation of nehek, etc. I don't think it is possible to make new Attributes (only abilities) so i couldnt say for example make a new version of Undead that allows routing.

Unfortunately I don't its possible to do, and if it was I know for a fact the folks over at Steel Faith would have already done it as they try very hard to make the game more loreful.

Sorry dude : /

And necromancer as well.
Nickamus  [author] 20 Aug, 2017 @ 6:08am
Would say the Undead attribute should be removed from ghouls, horrors, and bats no?

Lore*

Alright I'll look into this as my next project. Working on something at the moment.

If all the changes are more friendly i am sure steel*Faith and Venris would be happy to approve the sub mod. I don't think other authors are too picky about sub mods being made.

List of units that I would say would rout instead of crumble:
Vampire Lord
Strigoi Ghoul King
Master Necromancer
Necromancer
Vampire
Crypt Ghouls
Crypt Horrors
Vargheists
Blood Knights
Fell Bats
Varghulf
Mortis Engine

Nice ok! I'd love to use a mod like that, would probably be best to make submods for steel faith etc (something I have to also figure out how to do hah). And oh yes, vargheists are vampires, but the whole point of crumbling is a representation of a necromancer keeping his minions together. So any non-magical minion unit would not lore-wise crumble. Also it's tough to determine if combined units like a corpse cart should crumble or rout (the necromancer would likely drive all of his energy into routing if he was losing badly enough to keep his zombie "mounts?" animated, also how does a cart crumble it sounds kinda ridiculous). Also mortis engines same thing. What are your thoughts on these?

This mod now supports the new lords added by All Table Top Lords!
Nickamus  [author] 16 Aug, 2017 @ 12:38pm
Incidentally, the mod you are talking about below would work really well with this mod. The non undead units would not be effected by the lords buff from this mod with the removal of the undead tag, it would bolster the heck out of the low and mid tier units while leaving some of the top tier as normal. Pretty balanced stuff!

Ps I think blood knights are actually undead, they are vampires. I think Bats are living units, but gheists and wolves are undead.
Nickamus  [author] 16 Aug, 2017 @ 12:28pm
Hey James! Thanks for the feedback, I am glad you like it!

I had the same thought actually! The trouble with that is that you would be removing the crumbling effect from those units, which means modding a core table to have everything BUT the stuff you want removed. Any other mod that wanted to remove something from that table would cause bugs at the least and crashes on startup at the worst.

I content myself with the idea that the Lord is asserting it's will over even the not so undead, driving them onward.

However if it's something you want to use regardless of my warnings (lol) I could look into a mod that removes the undead and crumbling attributes from ghouls, terrors, and ghulfs. Vsrgheists are actually undead though - they are twisted vampires.

Nice! Been dying for this and couldn't figure out how to make it on my own.
One idea I had was to change the crumbling effect for all non-actually-undead units (like varghulfs/vargheists, LORDS, blood knights, and a few others) to regular routing. I'll try making some edits to your mod when I have time, maybe it's something you might like to reupload?
