Strange.. i have quite different vision of this, i'm sure high cover should be HIGH cover and so to give even triple bonus to defence (15 vs 45). Why? Is it very tactical when one doesn't have to bother his head anymore about choosing where to hide when EVERY cover is safe and relieble? A player should always be forced to look for a better cover, not just clicking mouse button at any place on a map. And yes, remember Low cover is NOT just this 20 vs 40 of high one, Low cover already provides the most important thing - it gives protection from FLANKING shots, what else do u need from it?? For "other things" pls follow to - high cover.

thank you for this. cover vanilla is so bad that its best to just insta kill enemy with all out grenades than to use cover.

Cover is actually useful, and this is the key of tactics. I don't want my late game to be somekind of Dps match ,that is boring,thank your mod!

I just completed a WOTC campaign with 104 mods including this one. It all went well. Love this mod -changed the cover settings from 20/40 to 45/65 myself in this last run, as I like cover being really worth it (and really worth destroying!).

This mod is amazing, and a must have, it makes cover actually useful. This works both ways, and it remains fair, for it while someone is safer in cover, they have to do flanking attacks to increase their chances of hitting the enemy units that also use cover.

This totally gets my thumbs up and favorite, as it makes the game more fair without making anything unbalanced.

Just completed a WOTC campaign with 63 mods including this one. All ran perfectly. I like this mod, I will use it again.

This mod makes cover a lot more reliable and the game less frustrating on the higher difficulties.

Is it possible to make a mod where cover behaves similiar to LW2?
High Cover = Better Defense, but lowered aim.
Half Cover = Better AIm, but light defense.

Quick question...

I am using Advent Advengers New Weapon Range table and would like to tweak the cover values to his reccomended 35/50 cover values. Can I just tweak these values in your mod's XComGameCore.ini file. i.e. +LOW_COVER_BONUS=35 +HIGH_COVER_BONUS=50?

Also remember the 20 aim bonus from your Height advantage is reduced by an extra 5 with the full cover and an extra 10 with anyone in low cover including this mod.

Yeah they should work together because most mods just add in their bonus and don't overlap.

If you want you can do it yourself, it's in DefaultGameCore search for UnitHeightDisadvantagePenalty, I have mine set to -15 (And have applied the effects of this mod to LOW_COVER_BONUS & HIGH_COVER_BONUS.

My reason was upping High Cover to 45 makes Height Advantage worse than High Cover, which I don't believe is worth the risk.
