Is there a mod opposite to this?
Pain 20 Oct, 2024 @ 2:11pm
i must say i like the colecting civ missions but the enemy spawn in them is bull shit you go in there and need 2 turns to 1 civ and the enemy needs not even 2 steps to shot on 1
Moisesjns 25 Dec, 2022 @ 6:29am
ya know i was just searching guerilla andi found this mod. And man o man am i happy i did. because like others have said the Defense version is boring especially when you got lost, bandits, and Aliens all on the map and have to wait ages to get into position to finally shoot.
FireDefender 16 Sep, 2022 @ 11:26am
@A LEMON, @Bunbun, you can edit the XcomMissionSources.ini file in the mod config found here:

...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1125647103\Config

You need to replace the existing line of code with the following:

-arrSourceRewardMissionTypes=(MissionSource="MissionSource_Retaliation", RewardType="Reward_None", MissionFamily="ChosenRetaliation", XPackMissionSource=true)

This way it will work the other way around, instead removing the Haven Assault missions and replacing them with the standard Terror missions from the base game.

You can also add any other missions in that file to be removed by looking at the XcomMissionSources.ini under:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XCom2-WarOfTheChosen\XComGame\Config

You need to look for the mission that you want removed (CTRL+F to search, type retaliation for all retaliation missions, Rescue soldier for rescue soldier missions etc.) and add a "-" at the beginning of the line (excluding quotation marks) to remove it.

@A LEMON I'm also looking for such a mod. I have to literally put on a video playing on my other monitor just to get through the 3 min it takes for all the militia soldiers, aliens and sometimes chosen to take turns. Takes 3 or 4 turns just to get my soldiers close to everyone and even then still have to wait an eternity just to play the game.
Mad Dog 28 Feb, 2021 @ 9:53am
I hate the fact your their only defence and half of them die before you can save them,
now with this little gem [WOTC] Militia Overhaul
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1555611129
the Militia are even more capable of defending themselves.
NopeTooFast 1 Jan, 2021 @ 6:49am
is there a mod that does this the other way around?
Ganches 5 Mar, 2020 @ 9:38pm
Did you ever create the supply raid box removal mod?
Clusiv 12 Aug, 2019 @ 1:57pm
This is the type of mod that I was looking for, but didn't even realize I was looking for it
Elric 26 Jun, 2019 @ 10:21pm
Great mod; like most players (it seems) I hate the terror missions. Removes one more frustrating mission from the game, thanks for the work!
Flashstriker 8 Apr, 2019 @ 10:05am
Oh yay, time to add this then! Thanks!
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 8 Apr, 2019 @ 9:06am
@Flashstriker
Nope! The vanilla Retal wouldn't show up and you would only have the WOTC one and any RM added with his mod.
Flashstriker 3 Apr, 2019 @ 2:56am
@NotSoLoneWolf - Quick question. I'm using a mod (I think Reality Machinima created it? Not sure) that adds another mission type for Retaliations. If I installed this, would it conflict?
SGMRock 20 Jan, 2019 @ 10:38am
@NotSoLoneWolf great mod and I think it actually make sense. Because I think it's silly that the bases where your resistance people are located have no protection at all so the Haven Assault missions make way more sense in the game than the Terror Missions. I mean you would expect at least 3-6 people in a 20 person encampment to be armed when they are resisting alien occupation of our planet right! :steamhappy:
Charlemagne 19 Jan, 2019 @ 3:31pm
Oh man this is sweet! I viscerally hate the terror missions, OTOH I enjoy the Haven ones. They seem to be very similar but there's a world of difference, and it's not only because of the little helpers. The fact that you have to walk up to civilians, hoping they don't turn into the bubble-gum-man and placing yourself in danger of activating pods. Also ADVENT are more aggresive in terror missions, they are actively killing civilians right from the start which works like a damn timer.
endersblade 1 Jan, 2019 @ 7:44pm
Excellent mod! I'm glad to see someone else likes these better than the originals :-)

Question: Would you be able to create a mod that removes all of the non game-essential missions that involve evac'ing? I absolutely HATE evac missions. With a passion. I want to go in guns a'blazing, and have the mop-up crew come in later and gather up all the sweet loot and bodies for every mission. Scientists, Engineers and Soldiers are still available via scanning, or hell, just add them via console...I don't care if we don't get missions to save them anymore if it means I don't have to do stupid evac missions anymore!
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 24 May, 2018 @ 7:30pm
I tried to make a new mod with both that and this rolled into one, but configurable with MCM so people could choose what missions they wanted. Unfortunately, the developer code for ModConfigMenu is a frickin’ maze, and I abandoned the project to focus on another mod. That should be released within the next week or two, and after that I can give the configurable missions mod another shot.
RainingMetal 18 May, 2018 @ 3:57pm
So no word on the "Disable Box-Hunting Supply Raids" mod?
花兔 28 Nov, 2017 @ 9:46am
There is no effect
voice of enigma 26 Oct, 2017 @ 6:02pm
good mod, thanks
Tayron 9 Oct, 2017 @ 7:09pm
looking forward to it lonewolf
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 9 Oct, 2017 @ 11:01am
Oh snap! I totally forgot about the MCM! That's a much better idea than simple config file support. Thanks for the suggestion!
Cahos Rahne Veloza 9 Oct, 2017 @ 12:46am
@NotSoLoneWolf:

Configurable mods are always fantastic, especially when there is MCM support :)

Also when the two mission types (Supply Raid and Retaliations) do become configurable, I'll probably go for the Basegame Raids + WotC Haven Defense combo LOL
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 9 Oct, 2017 @ 12:17am
I'm thinking I'm going to create a mod for supply raids and update this mod so you guys can choose which version to enable/disable in the config files.
Tayron 7 Oct, 2017 @ 7:33pm
is it possible to do the opposite ... and disable the WOC retaliation ... and just have the vanilla one ..... the WOC is too easy cuz the resistence guys just rekt the aliens most of the time
Cahos Rahne Veloza 6 Oct, 2017 @ 12:06pm
I hope you can also make a mod that disables the new WotC "Supply Crates Extraction" mission :)
Versadeath 3 Oct, 2017 @ 2:41am
Thanks for this mod, I really hated the old terror missions.
RainingMetal 30 Sep, 2017 @ 8:29am
Well, I for one haven't run into any "Save Too-Dumb-To-Live Isolated Civilians" missions when I have Lost and Abandoned disabled, so this works perfectly fine for me.
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 9 Sep, 2017 @ 10:48pm
@QuickSaveTV

Yes, this problem only happens with the first Retaliation of every campaign (and only in campaigns with Lost and Abandoned disabled). So you should be fine now for the rest of it.
QuickSaveTV 9 Sep, 2017 @ 12:20pm
It might be an isolated incident, I really wouldn't know. But the thing happened specifically when I started a new campaign with your mod enabled (among 150 others) and I also deleted the XcomEngine.ini just in case, prior to starting.

If you want my two cents, wait until somebody else tells you about it, to make sure it isn't just me.
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 9 Sep, 2017 @ 12:02pm
@QuickSaveTV

I'm honestly out of ideas at this point. I've brought the heaviest override I can work with onto this goddamn problem, I've consulted with Robojumper and RealityMachina and other professionals. Everyone says what I've done should work. Are you SURE that you have the latest update to this mod? I'm tempted to just give up. I mean, you're the first person to report this in a week, so perhaps this is an isolated incident.

@RainingMetal

Let me see if the Supply Raid variants are affected by the same BS as the problem QuickSaveTV and others are having. If it isn't, and all Supply Raids are chosen randomly with no forcing of one variant, then I'll consider it.
QuickSaveTV 9 Sep, 2017 @ 9:44am
I can confirm the random guerilla op bug :D
Dęąth Viper 8 Sep, 2017 @ 1:19pm
Yeah I hate the box mission too..
RainingMetal 8 Sep, 2017 @ 1:18pm
Will you release a mod that disables the box-hunting variant of the Supply Raid? Until that came along, Supply Raids (alongside Factory Sabotage) were the ideal mission to take one's time, thus allowing for combat without timed restraint.
CHINGO MAN 5 Sep, 2017 @ 1:37pm
fantastic :3
ColeTron 4 Sep, 2017 @ 12:55am
Thank you. I hate risking my neck to save potential faceless while popping new pods. I never had any fun with those missions.
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 3 Sep, 2017 @ 11:40pm
I'm not sure TBH. Actually, I'm totally sure there's a way, but it would be a lot more complicated than this mod.
Æsheron 3 Sep, 2017 @ 11:30pm
Is there a way to just tweak the odds of which retaliation happens? I kind of like having both, but so far in my campaign I've had a handful of the old version but only the first was the new one.
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 3 Sep, 2017 @ 6:24pm
Bugfix is out! After much trial and error and a lot of help from more experienced modders, the first terror mission of a campaign with Lost and Abandoned disabled will now correctly be a Haven Assault.
Ralph Raptor 3 Sep, 2017 @ 1:22pm
Great mod! Thanks for sharing!!
Dęąth Viper 3 Sep, 2017 @ 12:50am
gotcha..
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 3 Sep, 2017 @ 12:46am
@frizzeldian12 Not so easy. The code that spawns this problem is in a .uc class file, not a .ini config file like the stuff this mod edits. Class files are much harder to edit than config files.
Dęąth Viper 3 Sep, 2017 @ 12:42am
haha ez fix! Btw I want to make a mod to compile with yours but Imma add you so we can talk :D
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 3 Sep, 2017 @ 12:41am
I found the problem! The reason why only a few have been mentioning this is that the bug only happens when the Lost and Abandoned mission is disabled. When it's disabled, the first terror mission defaults to the non-WOTC one. And when it can't find it, it goes to a random mission.

I'll try to get a fix out ASAP but most likely it's not going to be ready until tomorrow.
Dęąth Viper 3 Sep, 2017 @ 12:37am
if you give me the code I can try to look into it if you dont mind O_O
High Flying Dwarf 2 Sep, 2017 @ 4:11pm
Can confirm that this is giving an item retrieval mission in place of the first retribution mission.
Dęąth Viper 2 Sep, 2017 @ 1:03pm
Okay. Its literally just that one
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 2 Sep, 2017 @ 12:50pm
@frizzeldian12 What? Oh crap. So it isn't Disable Timers, it's something I've done that is screwing up. Let me take a look at what's different for the first retaliation.
Dęąth Viper 2 Sep, 2017 @ 12:24pm
I dont use the other mod haha. its just the very first missioin that does the train.. every other mission is fine its just that I dont have the manpower to take down a train with 3 armor turrets using conventional weapons
NotSoLoneWolf  [author] 2 Sep, 2017 @ 11:03am
@frizzeldian12 I recently found out that Disable Timers mod conflicts with this one for some ungodly reason. I just woke up, so let me figure out why. But for now, you'll have to go without this mod or that one.
