I don't know anything about cataph's tweak mod, you don't have to use it, this mod will work without it but what happens if you enable it with SFO, it will probably overwrite some of the changes from it. About building slots, you can use this:

This mod only affects some tables about unit stats so it shouldn't have any visual bugs.

There is nothing wrong of being curious lol. They are intentionally weaker. TEB factions are different from the empire in some ways. They do have an all-round army, but they are weaker than their Empire counterparts. All of the TEB factions are more powerfull than the Empire factions in some ways (crossbowmens etc.) but their real power comes from their RoR units. But if you are thinking that greatswords are too weak even in this context, they were even weaker in the old SFO version I buffed them a lot, alongside with some other units.
Thank you for the hint, I've tried the formations mod and is not bad.. I mean the soldiers gain some extra minute in combat before to dye badly with falanx :D Not so realistic after all. In the Warhammer 2 expansion there is the New World Colonies sub faction that has the Estalia banner, so hopefully will'get at least Pirazzo's lost legion. Ah and the rogue armies too, fingers crossed.
Actually there is a formation mod that allows you som good formations including phalanx but the attack animation of the units are still same, and it may become problametic sometimes.
What a shame.. anyway you have done a great job with this mod.
I've only to wait and hope if CA will make some mercenary units for warhammer 2 and maybe introducing the pikes with the animations :(
We can't have Dogs of war without falanks formations.

No I don't and probably there are not such a mod simply because wh total war doesn't allow us to add animations to the game.
I noticed that the Shieldbearer unit for Border Princes only has charge defense against large. Is this on purpose? Because most other spear and shield units in SFO have charge defense against all.

You have to use Crynsos Unlocker+ to play TEB games. Unlocker+ needs my balance patch to work with SFO better, and my balance poatch for Unlocker+ needs Mixu's LL mod. I also wanted to add something from that mod since it changes and adds some good stuff for LLs so I may use some tables from it.
