the drone is gone......
parkasever  [author] 30 Jul, 2018 @ 5:15am
@ Mr. Good - yeah. They used to work fine, but one of the game updates made the Viking spin around. Removed for now.
Mr.Good 30 Jul, 2018 @ 1:00am
The guided missles are missing?
parkasever  [author] 7 Jun, 2018 @ 11:18pm
Alright, I've managed to fix this because I like this fighter. It shouldn't spin wildly anymore. I have omited the torpedos though. But you can make those on your own.
Aether 22 May, 2018 @ 4:33am
It is because of the microbase attached to it
ratheden 21 May, 2018 @ 8:37pm
When i add this to a gane it just sits there and rotates, as if there was gravity in space.... it pitch's forward, over and over ideas of why? or a fix?
Guesty 15 Feb, 2018 @ 1:50am
is this mod free ?

So, Where's Viking 2, The future.

Can't wait!

honestly, i think it is important to complain in a constructive manner...if not for that, keen probably wouldn't have addressed the issue with the thruster damage cone as fast as they did.
and i hope the same goes for the lock option for rotors and pistons.

in general though, i think keen finally needs to address the issue they have with communicating big and essential changes to the game beforehand of a release and involve the community more in the decision making about that.
parkasever  [author] 20 Nov, 2017 @ 7:37am
@Joshua Norton - I do my best not to complain about the updates and how they mess up the workshop, but I've just discovered that all the wheel configurations for all my vehicles and rovers went through a reset. So I'm going through them one by one to fix the issue. *grumble grumble
Joshua Norton 20 Nov, 2017 @ 7:34am
i would assume that is connected to the recent changes to rotors and pistons, whiplash reported that his VTOL ships are showing the same behavior because of no rotor lock and such.
could just be that.

honestly, removing the piston/rotor lock was not a good decision, just like with the last time when they first introduced the new thruster damage cone(which is now reduced to its old size so here is hope).
parkasever  [author] 20 Nov, 2017 @ 4:45am
@TehshiRyu - Thank you for letting me know. I've checked it out and you are correct - it behaves strangely since the last update. For now I suggest disconnecting the "microbase" and the main ship will work fine. I will wait until the next update. If the problem persists - I will probably have to remove the Microbase from this build - or maybe I will find some other solution.

I don't know if some previous patch messed this blueprint up or what the deal is, but as soon as I paste it into a world, the nose starts tipping over and makes the whole construction unusable.

I think it has something to do with the last patch, that "supposedly" fixed the pistons, rotors and landing gears...
parkasever  [author] 12 Sep, 2017 @ 3:47pm
@SpaceLee - Microbase plans are there - as long as you drop them in Creative since they are on the other side of a rotor. To use it in survival, make a separate blueprint for the microbase and save it.

@Noel - Go for it!
<#008080>Azai 12 Sep, 2017 @ 8:30am
Thx i may copy that lol .

I may build a ship that is kinda the same without drones and a bigger ship, microbase (i dont put anything on workshop)

Cool ship btw.
SpaceLee 12 Sep, 2017 @ 7:25am
I did not get the plans for the micro base. Is there an additional blue print for that?
freXampl 10 Sep, 2017 @ 1:31pm
reminds me the eagle from elite dangerous
Sir Cobalt 10 Sep, 2017 @ 12:02pm
I tried to make a mircrobase once but all attempts failed. Somehow, you prevailed. Rather impressive.
Jukebox 10 Sep, 2017 @ 11:44am
also i read the book awesome job man! :steamhappy:
Jukebox 10 Sep, 2017 @ 11:43am
i know you are bussy with new projects butttt please cold you please be kind and remake master control with new blocks pleeeeaseee also after finishing microtank build the construction yard next pleeeeasseeeee
SpaceX24 10 Sep, 2017 @ 8:58am
And such a smart idea
SpaceX24 10 Sep, 2017 @ 8:57am
It looks so cool
Tyo Atrosa 10 Sep, 2017 @ 8:20am
I absolutely love how you've built the ships from the book. that fighter is one of the nicest i've seen on the workshop. I'll have to use it myself with a few small adjustments from my upgraded mods.
parkasever  [author] 10 Sep, 2017 @ 7:31am
@aviator1280 - many questions, all of them related to general gameplay, not this blueprint but I will try to answer them - maybe they turn out useful to other engineers:

- SE doesn't support multi-grid projections. So anything attached by rottors and pistons has to be projected separately and then connected. You can do it: just make your own separate blueprint out of each part.
- drone range depends on antenna range, so a large grid drone has bigger range
- If you want to make a new drone and can't project it - just make it piece by piece. It's only 10 blocks or so.
- large grid rotor has a feature to attach to a small grid, that's why there is a rotor connection in the microbase
- to save the entire ship with rotors you make a regular save, then you use the COPY (ctrl c) and go to blueprints and say overwrite with clipboard or something like that
- the over 200meters antenna thing happens to me sometimes. Try to enable broadcasting on it.
aviator1280 10 Sep, 2017 @ 2:34am
P.S. sometime using the drone from the ship cockpit when more then 300mt it disconnect like I'm not using the antenna from the ship to control it. How to solve?
aviator1280 10 Sep, 2017 @ 2:32am
Hello, is the first ship I try to use from workshop and I need some info hope someone can help.
1) how to use this ship in survival mode since if I use a projector to rebuild it it miss the drones and the microbase?
2) once the drone has been used hot to restore it? may be can be implementes a projector on each pylon to rebuilt it in place?
3) the range for the drone is only 5km... is there a way to have it bigger?
4) How did you save the entire ship since there are rotors?
5) and last question I understood the rotors between the drones and the ship but why to use a rotor also for the microbase?

Hope someone can answer to my questions, thank you.
Rhea.licious 10 Sep, 2017 @ 1:37am
Yeah, hopefully they can fix the multiplayer. What would be amazing would be if Keen hosted a massive multiplayer server with 30 or so worlds that were some how interconnected, each with their own suit of planets and even skyboxes.
parkasever  [author] 10 Sep, 2017 @ 12:40am
@Lt.Starbound - I never published something quite so big, as I rarely make ships and vehicles that require more than one crewmember. With the introduction of proper multiplayer I will be happy to make multi-crew ships such as the "Zamora" - the high tech battlecruiser from the battle of Mars.
Rhea.licious 10 Sep, 2017 @ 12:37am
Will you be putting the cruiser with the jump drive up on the workshop too?
parkasever  [author] 9 Sep, 2017 @ 11:39pm
@MrEvan312 - Thanks man! Recently there are more nice people in the comments on the Steam workshop. I'm glad to see that.
MrEvan312 9 Sep, 2017 @ 2:16pm
I love that you've written a bloody book because of this game! I've made movies, my first of which was based on a short story that I was writing at the time. This game is a game of creation in more aspects than slapping blocks together, which you also seem able to do very well.
Double Tap 50Cal 8 Sep, 2017 @ 11:45pm
@ son your a savage, he provided enough screen shot's as is lol i had a look at the ship in game the concept's fine. it's a bit here and there in term's of how it's presented not gonna lie its not the best looking ship under closer expection , but 90 % of the community dosent build high detail ships it's all down to personal prefrence its just very willy nilly in placement of thruster's and armor plateing in some point's of the desing, the concept it self is neat very basic overall.
JCapt 8 Sep, 2017 @ 11:30pm
Thanks, parkasever! I appreciate the info. :)
parkasever  [author] 8 Sep, 2017 @ 10:17pm
All the "ugly" components are stacked between two sheets of armor so it's mostly flat and boring from the underside, I think. Most of the large ion thrusters have a little housing to give them some aerodynamics.
JCapt 8 Sep, 2017 @ 9:19pm
I've just getting a 180 degree view... I'm missing the other half... it is a fighter, and there should be an underside, even if it is all conveyers and looks disgusting (I doubt that's what your ship looks like, FYI).
JCapt 8 Sep, 2017 @ 9:17pm
@Parka: no, but I like to see what the entire ship looks like 360... no just the preferred exterior... I believe (you can look at my workshop as proof) that showing all the exterior is a good idea.

I'd love to see all the details. I'd like to see the proof that there are atmo thrusters and hydro thrusters on it as well as ion.

Simply put: I like knowing as much about the ship as I can before I sub.
Korvatus Klok 8 Sep, 2017 @ 8:55pm
Looks great, how's it going getting your novel on Google play store? I've started preliminary work on a novel heavily inspired by Space Engineers as well. Thanks for the inspiration.
parkasever  [author] 8 Sep, 2017 @ 4:30pm
@Son o'Petrified / Oh, you are that kinda guy, huh?
Jukebox 8 Sep, 2017 @ 11:22am
please do construction yard as soon as possible
JCapt 8 Sep, 2017 @ 9:30am
Nice design! I love it! Only thing is: could we have a shot of the ships underside?
CrimsonJupiter 7 Sep, 2017 @ 11:31pm
Indeed, The exterior looks amazing for a small ship!
Deathlok-L17 7 Sep, 2017 @ 2:17pm
i agree wth the other guys, great design like always :D
Dr. Distortion 7 Sep, 2017 @ 1:11pm
Wonderful ship! Thanks!
J4R 7 Sep, 2017 @ 8:03am
Very unique style, definitely looks high-tech. I also love the idea of the drone weapons.
Joshua Norton 7 Sep, 2017 @ 7:57am
thats a very nicely shaped ship, interesting design(even though the microbase could use some more design to it) :)
