Chimneys do work but they still heat up unlike the actual outside. And the hotter that side of the cooler the less it's able to cool. ^^

How do u mean an encased cooler becomes inefficient? Is there a Efficiency loss if the warm side leads into a room instead the outside? I always have this one-tile-roofless-room-as-a-chimney installation

The update to 1.0 only changed the version code, so just enable it in your 0.19 game. ^^

Excellent work. It will definitely go in my load order.

Yea, it isn't too big of a deal. I just wanted to know if it was intentional or not in case you didn't know about it.
cucumpear  [author] 28 Apr, 2018 @ 2:26pm
Hm, that's accidental, but not an urgent thing to fix. and yeah, it is more efficient.
Stupid Dumb Lizard 28 Apr, 2018 @ 2:03pm
Also, just one added question. is it intentional that the Large chemfuel generator cannot be flicked off? I assume it's more fuel efficient than the basic one, but I haven't done the math to check. If it IS in fact more efficient I suppose it's a worthy tradeoff.
cucumpear  [author] 27 Apr, 2018 @ 4:04am
That is indeed correct!

I'd just like some clarification to put myself at ease. The item costs (and texture/look) of the heating elements in this mod would make me think that Advanced Heaters are better than heaters, and the Advanced Furnace is better than the Advanced Heater (as there is no basic heater.) Is this correct?
BadBird 21 Apr, 2018 @ 6:06pm
I was just thinking today that it sucks to have a fortress two walls thick or more and enemies can jsut go right to the coolers. Will check this out

I totally get that, I always spend ages considering if a comment can be interpreted as insulting and rude, so no worries!
And that's exactly the point of the mod. I got sick of building out of granite (or whatever modded material I have) and raiders going straight to the coolers. And when you encase the coolers they become significantly less efficient. So why can't my people build them with some protective plating? And the same goes for vents, since I often place generators indoors with a few vents to equalise the temperature a bit.
The generators and heaters are not actually armoured, so that's kinda inaccurate, I guess. :P

I can't seem to google or find any other meaning of the word "armoured" except the one describing the protective covering of something, so I'm sorry to say that I have absolutely no idea what this does. I think I'll go through the trouble of figuring it out because it looks neat, but I couldn't help but gripe about it. :)

I meant it to sound constructive, but I can be a socuial idiot sometimes. I really do appreciate contributors greatly.

I generally don't recommend adding mods mid-game, but it should be fine to add to an existing save.
RatSushi 7 Nov, 2017 @ 2:21am
Do I need a new save?

armored cooler is very usefull, but i normally land in colder climates just so i only have to place heaters
