i think the reason all rimworlds are the same is because humans have colonized countless planets
dingo 8 Mar, 2018 @ 9:01am
Could you make or direct me to a mod like this that only recolors the flora?
Helios 2 Dec, 2017 @ 2:55pm
So ugly! :steamfacepalm:
TheQuadHeadmen 21 Nov, 2017 @ 11:22pm
@Gusty don't worry we have plans for this mod... it will be WELL worth the wait ;)
Fei the SCREAMING BEAN! 21 Nov, 2017 @ 4:16pm
okay then
Cotton Joe  [author] 21 Nov, 2017 @ 3:12pm
When I finally do update thismod to .18 I will be rewriteing it. I have ETA on this, but it will not be any time soon.
Sorry about that.
Fei the SCREAMING BEAN! 21 Nov, 2017 @ 2:33pm
.18 update?
Cotton Joe  [author] 28 Oct, 2017 @ 4:12am
Update: Artic Spinebo's spawn rates have been set to zero for temperate forests. Note: if you have some on your current map they will have to be removed manually.
Winged Sundisk 28 Oct, 2017 @ 12:40am
Well, let me check. Right now I've 2 Desert Spinebos, 1 Jungle Spinebo, 10 Arctic Spinebos and ZERO Forest Spinebo ^_^ I don't know how hard or easy it is to restrict certain animals from certain biomes, but maybe the Arctic one could be restricted to Ice Biomes up to Boreal Forest ones? I can have Temperate Forest tiles next to Desert Tiles or Jungle Tiles so those can wander over quite easily but Arctic...? I think to me it feels like finding a penguin or polar bear in a Temperate biome.
Cotton Joe  [author] 27 Oct, 2017 @ 7:18pm
The temperate forest is the one place all spinebos can spawn. You should not be getting mostly artic tho, you should find mostly forest spinebos... artic spinebos only have half of the spawn frequency of forest spinebos in temperate forests.

I will be rewriting this mod for A18 however, so any feedback you can give will help for the next version.

If you think that some of the spinebos should not be in the temperate forest let me know.

Due to changes in XML formatting in A18 it will be a while before I release this mod for that version.
Winged Sundisk 27 Oct, 2017 @ 5:42pm
I build my colony in a temperate forest, and I get all 4 sorts of Spinebos (but most of all arctic Spinebos) is that normal?
Cotton Joe  [author] 21 Oct, 2017 @ 11:05pm
Adjusted spawn rates of Spinebos
Cotton Joe  [author] 21 Oct, 2017 @ 3:39pm
Yes any time you add a new animal/item to a saved game, eaither by a mod update or adding a new mod; you will have to allow them in your stockpiles and crafting recipies.
For example for the ratanuskia animal that I added, you will have to allow it for butchering, allow its pelt and wool in stockpiles and if you want to use them in your clothes, add them to your tailoring recepies.

PapaRage 21 Oct, 2017 @ 12:30pm
@Joseph hey man could be just that you updated while i already had a game but the new animals u made (spinebos, ratan and poros) were forbidden when storing, butchering, cooking and crafting their meat/leathers, could be that my game was already started and animals were added
Cotton Joe  [author] 20 Oct, 2017 @ 8:57pm
Replaced wild raspberry bushes with pogoberry bushes. 3 diffrent colors - all the same plant.
Cotton Joe  [author] 20 Oct, 2017 @ 3:22pm
Lowered the brightness of Roshastone (red rock).
Gave spinebos there own base definitions to prevent errors when using mods that change base animals, such as makeing bears pack animals.
*Spinebos are not ment to be pack animals.
Cotton Joe  [author] 20 Oct, 2017 @ 2:57pm
@Sharik I will look into toneing down the pink and red just a little bit.
I will not be makeing a version of this mod with more natural colors; however, if some one else wants to use the code and textures of this mode to make another similar mod, I give full permission for them to do so.
Sharik™ 20 Oct, 2017 @ 2:33pm
@Joseph - finally checked eye-burning ones: pink and red ones are most. rest are quite ok, but still little too bright I think. Maybe youy could make two versions? one with brigheter colors, and one with more natural ones?
Cotton Joe  [author] 19 Oct, 2017 @ 8:08pm
Added Spinebos. 4 versions for diffrent climates. Large omnivors.
Cotton Joe  [author] 19 Oct, 2017 @ 5:56am
Added Poros. Small pets that live mainly in cold climates.
Cotton Joe  [author] 18 Oct, 2017 @ 4:35am
Just added a new animal: Ratanuskia

Find one and let me know what you think!
PapaRage 17 Oct, 2017 @ 10:29pm
@Joseph thanks man, just downloaded it, great mod btw, really alien like, gave rimworld a whole new taste and im loving it, kudos and keep up the good work, (expecting those new animals and plants soon haha)
Cotton Joe  [author] 17 Oct, 2017 @ 7:19pm
@dpmergruen currently this mod only allows you to build tiles out of the base stones. My attempt to add floors recently failed, but I will fix it eventually.
Untill then, or even after, please use the mod Stuffed Floors. Its a very fantastic mod and will fix all of your flooring needs!

I have linked the mod in the discription above.
PapaRage 17 Oct, 2017 @ 2:34pm
@joseph hey man, how exactly do you build the floor tiles (like flagstone for example) with the new blocks, i get the color change on the architect menu, but name stays the same (granite, limestone, etc, painted funny) and says i dont have materials, i have ongostone blocks atm
Cotton Joe  [author] 16 Oct, 2017 @ 5:08pm
The spots of strange color in the desart are "dirt smears". They are in the base game, but are not very noticable. I have tryed to give them a similar color to dirt in this mod, but I don't really like the way they look in the desart. I would like some feedback on the color and shape of them.
Cotton Joe  [author] 16 Oct, 2017 @ 4:56pm
@hamtastic I have not found any conflicts so far, and no one has reported any to me.
The only way a mod will conflict with this one is if it changes the same thing, and if that happens one will just override the other. Its very unlikely that any errors will happen, but if they do please let me know.
hamtastic 16 Oct, 2017 @ 5:29am
presumably this works with all mods?
Cotton Joe  [author] 16 Oct, 2017 @ 12:56am
Just added a new animal, the Invisibo which only shows up in manhunter packs. Very deadly, don't underestimate.

Added a new power building. Invisibo trophy, which needs an invisibo horn to build. Looks great and produces a steady 1k power.

@Sharik, Let me know which ones bother you the most, and I will see if I can drop the brightness without removeing the colorfullness of them.
Sharik™ 15 Oct, 2017 @ 10:53pm
Well, to be honest - almost all of the stones are so bright, that my eyes hurt :p Next time, I could check exactly witch ones :)
Cotton Joe  [author] 15 Oct, 2017 @ 4:40pm
@sharik which colors spicifically do you think are too bright?
My guess would be the stone, and thats actually the reason this whole thing started! I wanted bright!

Eaither way, please let me know.
Sharik™ 15 Oct, 2017 @ 1:16pm
Mod is cool, happy to see new colors...but I think, they are way to bright. Personally I think they should be tuned. But anyways - nice mod! :happypug:
Cotton Joe  [author] 14 Oct, 2017 @ 7:31pm
Just updated textures for the soil agian.
I tryed some blues and some green/blues but they made the world look much too cold.
The yellow/orange colors im using new seemed to give the best balance of color/warmth with out being compleatly blinding.

Please leave feedback of you like or dislike this more than the last version. and how they stack up to normal dirt and sand colors.
MaroonToon 13 Oct, 2017 @ 7:43am
i imagine that a blue or green dirt would help it a bit. it would also help with identifying where the grass actually is.
Cotton Joe  [author] 13 Oct, 2017 @ 6:59am
@MaroonToon
What do you think would help that issue?
MaroonToon 13 Oct, 2017 @ 3:27am
the purple grass combined with dirt is beautiful yet harsh on the eyes
Cotton Joe  [author] 11 Oct, 2017 @ 4:39pm
Updated Terrain. Please provide feedback on colors.
Cotton Joe  [author] 11 Oct, 2017 @ 3:20am
Just updated wild non produceing plants. ie. grass, bushes, moss...

Wild plants like that produce such as raspberry bushes, will be updated at a later time.
Cotton Joe  [author] 6 Oct, 2017 @ 4:48pm
Darkened Basium since it looked horrible.
Cotton Joe  [author] 6 Oct, 2017 @ 4:31pm
Updated metal and jade icons to match colors when used.
Cotton Joe  [author] 3 Oct, 2017 @ 8:48pm
@Space Lettuce, I will not release a plants only version. The only reason I released the no plants version is because thats how it was when people first subbed.

As far as the diffrent colored grass, wouldnt it be neat if we could use a combination of those?

I think so!
Space_Lettuce_OG 3 Oct, 2017 @ 8:41pm
@Joseph Will you release a "Plants Only" version? To be honest, I am only intersted in the plants, and mkaing the world feel more alien....

A suggestion, or something to try, would be Orange, turqouise, or light purple/lavandar colored grass!
Cotton Joe  [author] 3 Oct, 2017 @ 7:27pm
Ok, I have created new graphics for all of the trees. IMO they look much better, but I will still work to improve them as the mod developes.
Cotton Joe  [author] 3 Oct, 2017 @ 5:39pm
I have just created a new graphic for the Choko tree. I uploaded a picture of it. Once I make new graphics for all of the trees, I will update the mod.
(right now your stuck with the ugly ones!)
Cotton Joe  [author] 3 Oct, 2017 @ 5:07pm
Just posted a no plants version. It just has the stone and metal changes, and will not be updated.

This mod is intended to be an alient planet rework, and will include all new plants and animals. and textures for basically everything as I can create it. Nothing will look earthlike.

I hope to improve graphics as I go along, but im no artist. If anyone would like to contribue art to this mod, I would be glad to accept the help.
Depraved Arachnophile 3 Oct, 2017 @ 4:17pm
Also i uninstalled the mod and the trees are still there. How do i remove them?
Depraved Arachnophile 3 Oct, 2017 @ 3:53pm
Im sorry but the trees are god-awful. Is there a version with just the stone? The stone part is really cool.
