Well thank you for the feedback and testing. I have no idea why this mod is doing anything related to infected models like the Witch bride, but I just pushed a quick update that removes its effect on The Passing. I'd rather have the mod not affect a campaign than crash on one. Thanks again. :)
Yep! I spent 5+ hours yesterday troubleshooting my mods and game files (including a full reinstall) and this mod ended up being the culprit!
Now, I'm no modder, but after doing some spelunking on the interwebs, I think the mod is doing something to The Passing's mission files that is messing up the way it handles loading/precaching the Witch Bride's model. It may have something to do with the melee weapon unlock portion of this mod, since I tested out subscribing to a mod that added some melee spawns to The Passing and it conflicted!
Wait, really? Did you test loading the level with only this mod installed?
Yes, as unfortunate as this is, it is true. I've known about it for quite some time and I apologise for only getting around to fixing the description now. I was on a long break from Left 4 Dead 2, but that's no reason for leaving a misleading description up. I apologise. I rewrote the entire desription, edited the mod's name, and edited the preview picture to reflect the mod more accurately. Thank you for the reminder, and I apologise again. :)
@RedFox_NT:
You want me to make the Chainsaw able to reload? Unfortunately, I don't think that's possible. It was never meant to be reloaded. And I wouldn't want it to work that way anyway, because the Chainsaw already has a long draw time.
@Piggymcool:
Yeah, that's all been fixed. Melee weapons actually only have melee damages for friendly fire calculation, not for damage against any infected target. I've rewritten the description entirely to make things clearer, so feel free to read that for more info. :)
So basically, the only thing a melee weapon's damage value does is factor into the friendly fire damage calculation.
Aww, shucks... :) Oh, and I uploaded the scripts you requested. Gritty Realism pump-action shotguns! :D I said so in the other comment section, but I'm repeating it here in case you missed it.
His or mine? xD
The bat, nightstick, guitar, golf club, and frying pan are all used for inflicting blunt-force trauma, usually to the skull or chest, to incapacitate.
The machete is a cutting tool used for removal of thick foliage, and could be used to slice flesh as well.
Axes and chainsaws are used mostly for 2 things: chopping wood, and chopping off human limbs.
And then there's the katana, which is exclusively for A: looking badass, and B: execution by decapitation or impalement.
Valve seriously fucked it up, but this mod is an almost-perfect fix.
And it's for left 4 dead 2. I was trying to say that by editing the .txt files I managed to add proper thirdperson animations for the knife and adjust all the melee weapons to have equal swing speeds so no weapon was better than the other. If you look at the knife in third person, it just teleports to your hand if you equip and has this really ugly swing that almost looks like you're breaking your back. So I rigged it to do a proper swing, a proper equip animation, a punch as a shove animation and even got it to properly attach to a survivors back when its not in use.
Yeah! No More Room in Hell was a flawed gem to me, great but terribly frustrating with issues like zombies hitting further with their hands than you with your sledge, but I modded that game's weapon and gamemode scripts too. Love that game, and incredibly hyped for NMRiH2! :D
And the second half of your comment was all Greek to me. xD I just modify .txt files. I'm curious as to the results of your work. What exactly did you make? And is it for L4D2 or NMRiH?
I see... That makes senes. And yeah, I've also lost the desire to alter attack speeds with melee weapons. Not because of a lack of interest, but because I kinda like where they all are already. Also, melee weapons can be very OP, this is true. But with my Gamemode installed, and playing on Expert, melee becomes a dodgy game of timing instead of mashing attack. Quite fun, I must say. :D
0 damage for melee weapon
*Sidenote answer: SCP-990. He's like G-Man from Half-Life. :D
*Sidenote, Favorite SCP?
So, seem likes your script won't work on this.
Oh, and I even mentioned you in the Change Notes if that's okay. ;)
When I use a chainsaw, L4D1 survivors lose their arms. Pls fix this glitch. Thanks a nonillion

P.S. Is that some kind of Slendermare in your picture? xD Nice.
Wait, is that a command you need to type in the console, or is it a variable I can add to my script?
