This one works good with jointed objects. How do i slow down the speed from the exit portal?

Thank you @Tanya Sapien. Is there any way I can show my gratitude?

I tried to make my own version and I've been told it's the best so far: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2949941809

I'm amazed this came out so long ago.

I'm toying around with this.. but if you used a simple if object.getObejctfromGUID() ~= "" then.... it makes it so any code run doesn't apply to tables.... since the standard Table doesn't get assigned a GUID... just a thought.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU ;_:!..
Your are the best to create this since I wanted to have a featured game featuring teleporation portals ;_;!..
your sucha lifesaver ;_;!

Okay so after giving it some thought, I actually could do something. I could make a version of the portal where the address it tries to send an object to is determined based on the object's description data. This would allow you to send objects one-way throught he portal to pop out of literally anything just by entering the target's GUID in the description.

Well, the code does include an addressing system, it's how they find each other.
In theory I could write a script that lets you dial like a stargate, however my Lua skills are decidedly sub-par. I had to take a crash course in it just to get these things functional.

A far easier approach would be to just make several sets of them. Maybe I could release an Atlas and P-body version so you'd have a total of 3 channels.

"indigenous flora hemispherical containment device" This tickeled me something fierce. I would absolutely love to see a new version with multiple adresses. Like a mini stargate with different colored buttons, where the color code is the portal's Address. This should make a decent player to player secret note pass, or a rube goldberg portal device... Loads of fun. lol

@Grampa Walker well the workaround I found to keep them from eating tables involves checking for locked objects. I was hoping that wouldn't apply to the portals themselves, but it looks like that's a no. I'd recommend going into the physics and setting them to have a bajillion drag and a high mass, that should work almost as good as locking them, I use it for turning tablets into freestanding monitors all the time.

Apologies for the complaint, but it seems the portals don't want to work when they're locked, at least for me. Only a single edge of the oval actually teleports objects while they phase right through the rest of it. I'm unsure if it's only seemingly on my end, or not.
