Gonna be honest it feels like the writers went ham and put a lot of passion into the Lost mechanic
But the coders couldn't care less and just tossed together some random salad

Like... they don't spawn or go in the direction of the loud noise so you can't use them tactically to lure them into ADVENT. They are given virtually no actual fun mechanics or weapons or anything. The missions and maps? Yeah no. Those back up my initial claim very hard. Art team loves them coding team hates them haha

Just finished my first campaign with this mod. Worked perfectly, no crashes, no Lost mission.

watching my soldiers whiff 80% shots while the turn timer counted down (was using Time Turners and it was STILL taking too long) inspired me to install this mod so I never have to deal with the damn zombies again.

You can subscribe to "No Ambush Missions" by Pencey to remove one mission where this mod tends to show errors.

Thank you so much for this mod! Now I can completely replace these useless zombies for other third-plus parties with a lil more bite ala Raider Factions ;) Campaigns are so much more satisfying knowing that if it's gonna be laggy, it will be due to characters that are actually interesting to play against

@Daywalker. The error messages are a known issue, I mentioned it in the description. You are the first one to report it as a crash though. For me it keeps running, even with these errors in the log.

very unstable mod... crashes during abush missions where lost should be present. Warning: Redscreen: X2SitRepTemplateManager::FindSitRepTemplate(): Unable to find a template with DataName: TheLost

probably because in the first month you get a resistance op that garenties the lost spawning in order to introduce them
im assuming due to the lost not needing an introduction the game just skips that mission

Good for ironman. I can hit the ground running. I just wish the mod removes the voice clips from Central and Shen when you play with this mod. Maybe it does and I'm missing something.

I have finally caved to get this one. With my 542 mods, summoning the Lost on a player turn crashes my game for some reason. I shall finally not have to exercise restraint when using explosives.

I'm so damn happy I found this mod, I really dislike the lost, even turning them into the flood didn't help dealing with making them more interesting.

@SuperNiceGuy as written in the description, it can be added/removed during a campaign. Of course, as with all mods, you should make a copy of your save game to be sure you can go back.

thanks for this. so tired of fighting the lost. I love xcom but they just made missions too long, boring, and tedious. nothing tactical added, just headshot hordes over and over while they prioritize xcom over advent. they arent even a threat. just worthless padding. I might just install one of the 3rd faction mods with this so it'll be an actual enjoyable 3rd party joining the fight.

So I just want to skip the initial 2 missions that I've done heaps of times. Can I start a game without this mod, enable it, skip the bit with the initial missions, then disable the mod for the rest of the content?? :)

This mod is great. I hate the Lost, because all they do is make the game extremely boring.

What kind of idiot in the development process suggested or approved of, "Hey, let's punish the player for using explosives." Like, that's seriously "fun police" territory.

Some other enterprising modder boiled down the optimal shooting pattern to a math problem, so you can just press a button and it will have your soldiers do the shooting (but I don't think it will move them around).

That's certainly an impressive mod, but it seems more straightforward to get rid of a garbage mechanic entirely.

This mod is good but what I would love would be one that removes the Chosen from WOTC. No Chosen, as in vanilla. Of course it would be strange to play "War of the Chosen" with no Chosen. But no stranger than playing a Lost mission without Lost! 8*D

Thank God for this mod. If you play triple enemy, the lost just canon fodder that quickly fills up the screen and slow/sometimes crash the game. annoying af
