Just because its unlisted doesnt mean its defect tho, its fine.
If you feel like it, do an update or a version 2.0 to get back on the list :D

@Salomon Those NPCs are added by "Corbent's Interactive Crew". They are variants of the original crewmembersobff npc but with different skills (chemist skills instead of heal).

I love this mod. Massive thumbs-down to chucklefish for unlisting it. Base game Starbound "underperformed in quality" until the modding community added all their creative ideas and fixes!

when I was creating an NPC in NPCSpawner+, I noticed that in addition to the crewmembersobff option, there were also 4 other calls crewmembersobffb, crewmembersobffg, crewmembersobffo and crewmembersobffy!
Does anyone know what they are and if there is a difference?

I know what you said about unlisting this mod and the job offers patch, but I just wanted to say that I am someone who would like to keep it as it makes me smile. I am hoping you never remove it completely. I don't care about usefulness of crew members, I mostly just think they are a cute addition to the game and datebound makes it even better.

The creator of this mod seems to not allow direct messages, so I will try to make contact here.

I developed a major crew overhaul that I am about to release and I wanted to make a little Datebound addon for it that adds some variations of the Datebound npc with skills other than heal. However I thought that maybe since Datebound is so small, the creator wouldn't mind if I just directly include the base npc in the main mod, eliminating the necessity of a separate addon. Of course I would list the "crewmembersobff" npctype as original Datebound content.

If I don't get an answer I will just proceed with the addon approach (which would require the original Datebound of course).

does this mod work without the npcspawner mod as well ? generating friends/lovers seems a bit meh compared to finding a crew member at random that suits your tastes (imo)

the datebound member doesn't seem to "move" normally like other crew members. instead of running to me she just teleports directly on top of me even when she's still visible on my screen

Question: how do I know if the mod is working? It shows that it works aka it shows like "Delicate smooch-master" and stuff like that, but I can only have them follow me around. I can't talk and they dont have hearts anywhere around them. I'm using NPCSpawner+, which has the crewmembersobff thing on it already. I dont know if im doing something wrong, and im not sure what its suppose to look like.

Is there a way to make this "friend" npc live on a planet? Cause if it's a new crewmember role, then that npc will automatically teleport onboard your ship as a crewmember and stay there forever. But if it's only a new npc type that can freely roam around the place they were spawned, then I guess it's pretty okay.

Other crew related mods I use are:
-Smart Crew: Allegedly only affects ship behavior.
-NPC Spawner+: Allegedly only an interface to spawn the npcs, npc behavior unchanged.
-Crew customization+: Equipment management and stat scaling. Allegedly no behavior changes.
-Frackin Universe: Adds new crew types, but haven't read of vanilla crew type changes.

[Cool behavior I noticed 1/2]
Greetings. The description of the mod says that only the type "crewmembersobff" has new behaviors but last night I noticed a behavior that I hadn't seen before. So thinking that there might be an undocumented feature I'm asking here, since it's the most suspicious mod.

I mostly use Lyceen race and crew. But last night I saw some cosmetic mods for the human race that gave me an idea and decided to create a human to test. I made her of type "Outlaw" and Personality "Jerk" (Both vanilla options as far as I know). To my surprise, she often commented on nearby objects using their scan descriptions. My Lyceen crew never do this, which is why I never noticed such behavior before. It's a cool feature. Is this the mod that does it?

I asked in the Lyceen thread if it was a vanilla behavior unsupported by the race (since I haven't used vanilla races in forever) but the author says it doesn't seem so.

Is there a way to stop crewmembersobff npcs from attempting to heal the player? As in removing the npc's healing abilities.

Not sure if you're still alive, Audie, but can I make a suggestion?

Maybe crewmembersobff should be given a secondary weapon to switch to, to go with its primary. There've been issues sometimes where such single-item-wielding crewmembers sort of flicker back and forth between sets if given a second one.

It doesn't appear to happen in cases where we give different equipment to NPCs that already had two items to begin with.

Kind of sad how only "crewmembersobff" has random chat messages when interacting, unlike all the others that just say the same thing each time.

It's better to have a variety for different effects and such, but it's tempting to just use this npctype for everyone, for the variety in chatter.

Maybe there's some way to patch the other crewmember types so they do the same. 🤔

Is there any way to make the SO/BFF stop flirting with other crew members? They don't even have the flirty NPC personality type, I set them as cheerful when I made them with NPCSpawner+.
Rather when I want to give my character an SO they were actually faithful, not running around throwing love hearts and nosebleeding on everyone else in the crew.

I completely forgot I had this mod installed until today, when I was able to recruit a villager with the "Partner" job and had no idea whatsoever what this job title was supposed to do or why this newly-recruited Hylotl chick's got weirdly-affectionate dialogue like she's my character's girlfriend or something.

Now that I dug through my mod list I've finally found the answer, lol.

Not sure if anybody else is having this issue, but after recruiting them into the crew and removing the spawner new unrecruited NPCs don't keep spawning in: when leaving the partner behind on the ship or anywhere in general, does yours keep swapping weapons over and over?
