While I find that behavior interesting, this mod changes nothing about magic, so I haven't the slightest clue why you're having a problem. The only noteworthy conflict I suspect this mod might have is with custom races -- If you're using a new race this mod effectively does nothing, since it only adjusts vanilla races. Similarly if you're using something that changes the VampireRaces that is an obvious conflict since that is what this mod does.

Granted I haven't played Skyrim in awhile, so it is also possible some patch somewhere broke the mod, but I don't find that very likely either to be honest, this isn't a balance patch type of thing.

Crashes as soon as you attempt to view the Magic screen after becoming a vampire (tested with both types of vampirism, and issue was resolved by removing only this mod).

While I probably could do it, I don't see a point in doing it. The special edition rubs me the wrong way; when I first used mods on it, I couldn't even get past the opening cutscene, not to mention the fact that if you use any mods whatsoever achievements were turned off. I don't know if thats changed, but those two things together made me significantly less enthusiastic about releasing stuff like this for Special Edition.

That being said, I'd actually be surprised if Skyrim SE didn't already have a mod like this available. Maybe it isn't on the Nexus though. If I recall correctly SE had its own server for mods to be uploaded.

It is possible to create the same file for skyrim Special edition ? in nexus for example ?
Thanks you !!

does this mod remove the sunkeness of the vampire face?
Mêgola 9 Feb, 2020 @ 8:36am
I have Dawnguard now and was happy the Vampires look different, but was also annoyed with the dirty grimy appearance. This is awesome.:squirtyay:
ElderGamer1 9 Feb, 2020 @ 2:14am
Working so much better by itself. I had loaded too many face Mods before. My Characters face still looks super! Thanks so much!
Mêgola 1 Apr, 2017 @ 12:13pm
@Lajos I haven't played Dawnguard yet, so that explains it. I'm happy to know that vampires at least look different/scarier in the dlc vs vanilla though!
Lajos  [author] 26 Mar, 2017 @ 5:34pm
@Princess Plum In Dawnguard vampires DO look different, particularly their jawline and nose (their facial features look more like orcs). In vanilla skyrim, they just get dirt filters applied to them which change during sun damage in particular. Which are kind of annoying tbh.
Mêgola 25 Mar, 2017 @ 12:27pm
I'm confused...when I played Skyrim, I was disappointed that the vampires look just like regular people (unlike in Oblivion where vampirism changes the way people look). I came here looking for a mod to make vampires in Skyrim look different, or like actual Vampires...but according to this, they do, and this mod cleans up their monstery appearance... :steamsad:

found that yesterday after searching abit thx
Lajos  [author] 6 Nov, 2016 @ 3:59am
If you check my workshop items there is a mod for vanilla Skyrim.
Cowboy Revan 4 Nov, 2016 @ 8:30pm
dawnguard non needed one pls
(for us poor people who can afford to buy the dlc mods)
creatYVE 4 Aug, 2016 @ 11:41am
afte a few errors, it works really good :)
Lajos  [author] 22 May, 2016 @ 5:14pm
Never experienced that behavior before, have you tried verifying the integrity of your game cache?
Gros Toton 22 May, 2016 @ 9:51am
i use your mod, my character is a breton and it works a 100%, got rid of the brown tan, dirt and broken lips thing, but when i tranform into a vampire lord for the first time after installing the mod, the brown skin tan returns forever when i revert to my normal form (have to reload a save before transforming to keep my normal pale tan)
Lajos  [author] 15 Apr, 2016 @ 3:56pm
This mod operates by changing the vampire races directly. So if you're running with a custom race (not part of the core game), or a customized race (changed red eyes to blue eyes or something), it probably won't work properly. But feel free to try it and see what happens. Can always turn it off if it doesn't work.
stacierockette 15 Apr, 2016 @ 2:35pm
is it compatible with vampire race mods?
Lajos  [author] 11 Mar, 2016 @ 8:56pm
Considering that this doesn't change the model of your character I don't see how it would do that. You might have some other funky interaction somewhere.
HarryVally 19 Jul, 2015 @ 2:04am
nice
Lajos  [author] 3 Jun, 2015 @ 3:06pm
Sounds like you might have a vampirism mod that is conflicting with default vampirism. My vampire regens just fine with +regen on gear.
prk 3 Jun, 2015 @ 4:11am
i have still does not regen
Lajos  [author] 3 Jun, 2015 @ 3:34am
In Skyrim vampires don't really have a weakness to sunlight, they just don't regen underneath it. Such a mod would be pointless in my opinion. If you want to regen in the sunlight you might consider running the Lady guardian stone, or getting some regen enchanted on your gear.
prk 2 Jun, 2015 @ 10:04pm
can you make a mod that makes the vampire not have weakness to sun
Jxrsll 27 May, 2015 @ 2:11pm
it does ty
Lajos  [author] 26 May, 2015 @ 3:31pm
I honestly don't know -- this mod changes Vampire Races, so it could conflict with other vampirism mods. The only thing I can say is try it, and hope that it works.
Jxrsll 25 May, 2015 @ 6:59pm
does this work with Better Vampires?
Lajos  [author] 23 May, 2015 @ 4:45am
It should work with all of the vanilla races. If it is not working for you there might be a conflict. This mod changes the vampire races, not any graphics or textures -- so if you have something that modifies vampire races, that might be the conflict.
Annénas 23 May, 2015 @ 3:11am
Does it work with non human races like altmer? I subscribed it but my female high elf is still dirty..
Flakk Gun 6 May, 2015 @ 6:52pm
This mod fixed a long list of NPCs and issues Dawnguard caused with vampires in my game. Absolutly love it and recomend it especially if you like the vanilla look.
Lajos  [author] 15 Apr, 2015 @ 4:54pm
This mod doesn't change any assets so I don't believe it is the source of your bug. It just changes what assets are used and only when you are classified as a vampire. The most likely culprit is another mod or another asset within your override.
Dorian 15 Apr, 2015 @ 4:31pm
Was cleaning up my mods and decided to uninstall this since I rarely play vampires these days, and I've got this weird glitch where all my dunmer and orcs have developed vampire faces o-o humans are fine, dunno about the other non-human races. Intriguing more than bothersome - I'll simply reinstall it. Just thought I'd mention it.

Anyway, on to the main point of my comment - thanks for a great mod :3 I can't bear playing ugly characters, I'm ashamed to say, so I could never have been a vampire long without it. Thank you <3
pederskomsvold 17 Mar, 2015 @ 12:03pm
for some reason this mod made my vampire lord char have very shiny skin... other than that it looked great...
ohsinboi 8 Aug, 2014 @ 12:01pm
Yea I figured it out, thanks. Its just that Dunmer have messy faces whether vampire or not XD
Lajos  [author] 8 Aug, 2014 @ 4:56am
I haven't noticed any steam notifications, so sorry for the delay in responding (it is possible they were there and I just never opened Steam -- I don't recall). This should work for all standard races. My best bet is you have a mod conflict somewhere. If you're running any vampirism mods that change vampire races, those would be the most likely culprit. If that doesn't work you might see if there are any incompatibilities with any other vampirism mods you might be running.
ohsinboi 3 Aug, 2014 @ 4:16pm
It isn't working for me. Im a Dunmer
AlphaGodith 24 Jul, 2014 @ 7:11pm
must-have!
Lajos  [author] 8 Jul, 2014 @ 10:11pm
This mod does not change any vampire scripting. Only the races themselves to use different graphics. If you're using other mods that change vampirism, or have used mods that change vampirism in the past, there might be some leftovers you haven't properly taken care of. If you can't figure it out, try verifying the games cache and see if that helps. Beyond that I can't help you.
ValfarWindir 8 Jul, 2014 @ 7:49am
Might it be that this mod keeps my character from becoming a vampire unless transformed into a vampire lord? I've been running around with sanguinare vampiris for days without anything changing.
Nyx DeMorte 15 May, 2014 @ 7:20pm
Thank you for this mod. I can finally look at my character again without grossing out! xD
BloodgodArmor 14 Apr, 2014 @ 1:16pm
Hey I've been noticing that the faces of the vampires in my game keep changing...FOR THE BETTER!
They look more handsomer and for the woman lovelier.
If you are behind it, whatever you did DON'T change it, with the exception of making them paler and not gray looking.
That whole ungly vampire thing was just lame!
Lajos  [author] 2 Apr, 2014 @ 9:21pm
This mod shouldn't change eye color.
wuzhangwarrior5 2 Apr, 2014 @ 5:38pm
does this stop the eyes from getting the glow because my character didnt change anything at all when she became a vampire lord?
drhgsrh 22 Mar, 2014 @ 11:39am
Thank you very much for this mod! Now my sexy female assassin looks sexy again! :Corpus:
BloodgodArmor 22 Feb, 2014 @ 7:22am
I found a way.
I just had Falion cure me,
Then I applied my shades and lip color through console command.
When I lose my look when die or start my game, I just change into the vampire lord and revert back and I have my looks again.
Thanks for the reply though.
Lajos  [author] 16 Feb, 2014 @ 8:33pm
That sounds like a bug within your save game. I don't think I can fix it. I recommend starting a new game or loading a save game before your first turn to vampirism and then trying the Ragged Flagon trick.
BloodgodArmor 16 Feb, 2014 @ 6:53pm
How can I have a vampire with eye shadow and liner and dark blackish purple lips making him look more Gothic?
Mine is a high elf and when I do this to him at the ragged flagon; when I have Serana turn him a again, the shades disappear after I remove a helmet or even load my game up.
How can I keep him with his war paint, shades or what ever I put on his face while being a vampire?
Please let me know!
