But from reading some threads it's simply a basegame coding issue, it just arrives a lot sooner with larger galaxies :-(, shame on Paradox!! Their other games are so much better optimised...
But if this is true, does this particular mod crash less? I have a very high end gaming PC yet still got crashes using a different galaxy mod playing at 5k stars with about 35 AI empires (only 1 was a fallen empire). I was using an elliptical shaped galaxy if that changes anything.
@bidithal Just loaded a galaxy with 60 ai and 4-8 fallen empires, I did not crash but I'm beginning to think it is a loading time problem
I have 16GB RAM and a GeForce GTX1070
Maybe it's how much time the system gives itself to finish the galaxy generation?
Or maybe it crashes if it doesn't have enough names or species?
Then I downloaded this mod, the SUM More Core Worlds and the SUM Smaller Borders mods.
The game crashes when I try to start a game at the following settings:
Galaxy size: 10,000 stars
AI empires: 60
Advanced empires: 6
Fallen empires: 2
There is no limit to size but there is a border to the galaxy generation in the shape of a box that stars will always refuse to generate outside of, so I would need to modify that.
I would also need to add more zoom so you can get the camera around the galaxy faster, but in testing the galaxy disappears, so I'd also have to modify the draw distances as well!
TL:DR theres various engine reasons why this has never been done before, but I am 100% willing to try and I have already been experimenting to figure this out for everyone.
-Fixed Fallen Empires not spawning in proper amounts. (I forgot to scale down the spawn distances)
-Changed some of the default spawns so things don't appear too clustered (though you can still set them how you like)
-Changed the zoom while in the galaxy view, so you can now get a view more to your liking
