after entering the anti-gravity field.
their are 3 pedestal buttons to press & 1 sphere button.
the 1st pedestal button, air walk to, as you enter the A.G. field.
2 more above.
the sphere needs to go past the laser field above you, to a blue funel.

I don't play coop maps.
but I subscribed to your 1 single player map.
What a pity others rooms are not as... surprising as the last one.
If you can test one of my coop maps and give me some feedbacks, it would be nice! (Not as "fun", but CUBE^2 has some hard puzzles and some tricky coop plays, even one involving turrets :) )

but if you have played maps where turrets catch fire, they then explode.
on this map, they catch fire, but don't explode.
so the purpose of the anti-gravity field, is to save the turrets, from exploding.
also their are different types of anti-gravity fields.
some where turrets & cubes rise, but you don't.
& more.
& their are uses for them.
as for the mid air obsticle course.
I have also done that a while ago.
the main purpose was something different, with a positive impact on the player.

for some it intrigued them, & I was asked how.

The aspect of controlling a ball through a grate was clever. When I finished the puzzle I didn't see how the puzzle needed anti-grav or even really used it. If you replaced the anti-grav with just the blue tractor beam would things even change? It would be harder to get the ball since you would be rising faster when trying to hit the button that spawns it, but I think that is it. The turrets rotating in mid-air and on fire was comical but had no other purpose from what I could see. Hmm, just thinking outloud.
The best aspect of these anti-grav things is that they rise slowly, and you can't stop rising. I'm thinking mid-air obstacle courses to navigate as a good anti-grav puzzle. Worth investigation.

the flames eventualy go out though.
but they are still there.

I think the turrets burn out eventually. I remember watching them from below, thinking "Do they usually take this long to explode?" and then, suddenly there were no more flaming turrets overhead.

I put cubes in so people can block & create connections, to see exactly what does what.
if you still have you old pc, they will be in the steam files somewhere.
to access steam files on windows pc- click start / my computer / (your harddrive the operating system is on, might be C) / either program files or program files (x86)
you might try contacting steam, they might be able to help.
if your not happy with it, you can update the published version in the editor & click publish.
you should not lose your comments.

I just subscribed to your map: "Orange and Fizzle"
the floating is funels alternating blue to orange, controled by lasers & relays.
I descovered, while experimenting in the editor, that turrets will not explode,
when on fire in an alternating polarity field. from that discovery, this map was created.
I 1st saw this type of anti-gravity field on 1 of geneosis's maps.
the deathtrap map I published & re-published, is on steam twice.
as 2 seperate versions, with 2 seperate comments & addresses.
though I only have 1 in my editor ? & have not deleted or saved as.
my internet connection is great, some of the time, but other times I suffer from packet loss.
(data being lost) restarting my pc often solves it.
when that does not work, re-booting my modem solves it.
but next time I am on the pc, if not before, same problem.
so I don't want a mod, as corruption of files likely.
last time I complained to my ISP, they just say reboot modem.
I keep getting steam thinking I last played portal from a different pc.
as my pc files are out of sinc with the cloud.
but I only use this pc. it is the paket loss that stops it sincing properly.
Well, dunno why the latest map (Quadro...) shouldn't load. I made an update in just the last few minutes, maybe, if you re-subscribe it will load now. In the Slippy-map, all must be unticked to open the door, but there is a short time-limit! So check first, what the door-symbols say, if you just break the easiest laser. If you mean a different door, try knocking ;)

I am not playing as many as I want without a mod.
I have a few under development, but slow process.
never enough time. make / break / update / test, test, test.
the more maps I make, the harder I seem to find playing other peoples ?
had a go of your last 2, 1 could not get started, the other breaking lasers, but exit door all symbols ticked, but still closed. perhaps I did not see an unticked one ?
will have to leave them till I have time to proper spend.
I'm on fire .... all around ... and not burning! I never was with so much turrets facing me in such a small area, but not harming me or even themselves :)
And kudos to the finale: laser barriers everywhere ... I was really thinking, this must be a dead end, although having the sphere already. But in the end, running in circles for a while, I also solved this one!
And for your F6-Maps, I strongly recommend using a Autosave feature. I recently downloaded BEEMOD [portal2backstock.com] by myself and was surprised, how easy it was.

I hope it will explain what I used to control the anti gravity field.
they are in the 1st chamber.
in the second chamber, is for us, a zero gravity field.
the turrets still go up, but we can not move up or down.
when you understand it. use it to reach the exit door.
I hope this explains the machanics behind the 2 fields.
