But should keep the towers from the mod above.
As for me, the only thing I would spent time on for this mod is the missing walls, or re-building the imperial university. But I'm actually working on another civ at this time (look at my Mongol civ, pretty ugly ... That's about to change)
Sorry if my comments sounds pesky ! I just wanted to explain how I feel about that.
BUT ! I don't forbid anyone to take the graphics I made (and as a reminder : I haven't made everything in this set, especially feudal age) and improve them. On the contrary, this will be welcoming especially by someone as gifted as Catbarf or Gwotyng (but again, I think they have something else to do ...)
My point is : I'm not a Professional graphic, I'm an amator, so if I had the ability to do everything like the AOE team, I'd be working for them (I actually sell medecines, then I do this sometimes in my free evenings afterwork, so ...nothing to do with it :) ). This is the greatest I can do with my small knowledges on graphics. As you can see in every mod I make, I don't create all from A to Z, I complete unfinished graphic set, and make new graphics by ripping existing wall textures, roofs etc ...
Yea it's a lot of hefty work, but I feel as though it is neccessary to achieving a beautiful set that merges seamlessly with the rest of the game without breaking the style and philosophy of Age of Empires II.
If you do decide to come through with these changes, good luck and Wololo!
-Change the Imperial roof style to maintain the darker color of the Castle Age and remove/shorten the spikes on each corner.
-Lessen the size of the tower on the Archery Range or attach the guard tower's image to it in its place.
-Remove the towers from the Barracks and Stable, it breaks the consistency of the buildings general shape. In the same fashion, I'd remove the tower from the Dock, as it is fully made of stone and has no architectural support beneath it.
-Enlarge the Castle Age market to a similar, possibly slightly smaller, size of its Imperial Age counterpart.
-Use the standard Western Europe wall set. Not much to say here, just there is no texture on the corner pieces and the image just does not fit the game's art style.
About Catbarf, he is already pressed by people to finish his own work on Byzantine, and he really take his time for making buildings (this is probably why his buildings are so amazing and detailled by the way) so I don't think I'm gonna ask him to perfect my work, he's clearly better than me and I love his work, but he does work on his graphics, I do work on mine, others works on theirs, this is why the steam workshop is so full of ressources.
@robert.kis.rath, Shadows can be fixed indeed, but I can't do anything about garrrisoning flag until Saint_Michaels seperate the files for every civ : it means that if I change garrison flag, it also changed for Spanish, Franks, and Brittons.
Really nice work. I use this and the western european version (IA: Franks only) regularly and can't stand the old "western european style" anymore. Some small issues remain: (1) the shadows for the stone/fortified wall do not match as the shadows are still using the old square wall and (2) garrisoning units/relics in buildings shows flags that appear in the wrong places so they appear to "levitate".
Btw. do you have any plans for other civs in the future? I absolutely love your mods...
