Zeds spawn EXTREMELY SLOWLY. A real shame that this completely breaks the experience since Hospital Horrors was a pretty dope map in the original.

Fun map from the original, but my only complaints are that the spawns are a bit slow, some areas are too bright and kill the horror immersion, there's a comically enormous amount of bones on the roof with the crashed heli and some of the wall textures don't fit in compared to the original.

I'd rate a 6/10

Few notes after playing this lovely KF1 map solo with a level 0 SWAT on HoE :
. spawn rate is incredibly slow and boring (even with a level 0 so it says a lot)
. lighting looks unfinished, making textures look flat, overall the level is too bright

Should have more different textures for walls. Too munch same ceramic square. Some Blood splatter decals look wrong too.

That was a deliberate design choice, servers in this game have a bug where it won't update collisions for moveable objects. So as an example, you'd run into a chair or table, and you would see the chair move, but the collusion doesn't update. So then if you run into the area where an object used to be, you'd have a collision with something that isn't visible. The server think the object is there, but the game says it isn't.

To completely avoid this, I've disabled collision on movable objects.

I have no idea how to fix the trader trail, it's based on pathing. Which appears to function correctly, as zeds can navigate the map and none get stuck.

I like any hospital with an unattended pharmacy but this one is really special.

3. ideas to improve for me would be.

1. destructible lighting(especially the yellowish hospital lighting)

2. in hallways there are various stretchers/desks/wheelchairs to make them not boring. the problem is zeds jump on them which is silly and annoying. my suggestion is make the collision of them go all the way up tot he ceiling so zeds dont even try.

3. zeds seem to spawn slowly unless you move around(tested on solo HOE.)

That should be fixed in the most recent update. Try resubscribe? Before you do so, go to the roof of the Hospital, does it have a chopper or a plane? If it's a plane, that's an old version of this map. If it has a chopper, it's the latest.

the curtain is like an unbreakable glass that can pass through by player, but the bullets doesnt, need fix on that

I broke the Map :,D
When you run on the corridor where the big open windows are (think 1st Floor) and under you are 2 ambulances in the hospital garden (i think center of the map) you can jump out of the windows but you break the whole map cos u cant go back and zeds cant follow you xD

Filth's Cross?! I loved that map, I know, it's not a port but that still sounds worth trying, and I seriously doubt it could be too dark for me! Older gamers are used to the darker maps/settings in games. It's the new games that put out all this bright stuff. Makes me feel my age more. lol.

You guys should try the Filth's Cross remake I also made. Though you'll probably say it's too dark. That was my intended style on that map, just like being somewhat bright is my own personal style on this map.

In terms of KF2 aesthetics, I think it suits that atmosphere fine. It will never be exactly the same as the original map. Anyone is welcome to edit this map, or any of my other maps however they wish. I'm not going to limit other peoples creativity.

Yazza, Although it's true, that your maps are bright, I actually prefer it. I always turn the gamma etc settings right up on these kind of games anyway... as the eye can't translate dark images the way it can process 'real' items in a darker setting... making 'dark' images on a screen TOO dark. I agree it's a 'little' brighter than I remember the original map/ I MUCH prefer it brighter.

others' are allowed their opinions, ofc - as long as they realise that if the creator of something makes something with an intended design in mind, that it's pretty much his perogative. s/he may change it with enough voices... but sometimes the dev won't... or even knows best - despite how 'the masses' may feel. How many games have been ruined by 'another dev' buying it out, then makeing changes to the core gameplay the wreck the game? all my favourite ones, at least. (except KF?)

Amazing job as usual, Yazza! Keep it up. For those who absolutely love the original map, if this map is not your beef, then just play other maps. No one is forcing you to play this particular map. Of course, you can always go back to Killing Floor 1 to play. My friend and I enjoy playing on this map very much, although we die a lot when a bonanza of large zeds stormed us. Maybe we're just noobs. Hahahaha...

Yazza, pls be calm- no one is bashing you or your work. No one is complaining. Some of us have just played the first so much it's engraned in our heads!, and some of us liked the darker maps. It in no way means you did a bad job, it's just ppl stating opinions and sharing ideas, that's not the same as bashing. I assure you, I am not the bashing type, and I don't see anyone else here bashing you or your remake either. :tu1:
