@TooManyKobolds: It may be a conflict with another mod.
TooManyKobolds 13 Dec, 2024 @ 4:10pm
ive tried that. none of them will REMOVE bait, or fish from their containers. no matter how i layer the tasks. how many people i have set to stagger the tasks. best i can manage is to get them to do something when i MANUALLY make them pick it up. theyll take the bait to storage. then theyll take it, fish then run it back and then nothing.
AngusCrow  [author] 13 Dec, 2024 @ 12:20pm
@TooManyKobolds: Have separate runners set up take the fish to storage.
TooManyKobolds 13 Dec, 2024 @ 11:43am
idk if this is where id post this but, im having issues setting up an automated command line for the fishing jobs. my net fisher will fish a single fish before hauling it to the drying rack over and over instead of letting it fill up. and my rod fisher set to get bait and operate fishing rod and haul fish just kind STOPS doing anything once the fishing rods out of bait. they wont grab more bait. idk if its a quirk? or like the way i have my job commands layered?

Howdy; just wanted to pop in and mention that perhaps this mod is a bit unbalanced. A single fishing net can reliably feed a squad of 5 or 6 without any other reliable sources of food with a somewhat skilled farmer; with comparably little upkeep. I edited the production rate values down to about 60% of base and that ended up making a fishery much more comparable to a farm in similarly fertile conditions

Well, my latest play involves building a coastal fishing operation, so I can safely say I'm making use of the mod, thanks!
AngusCrow  [author] 29 Mar, 2024 @ 12:08pm
@In_cap: It did have some problems with out the separate containers.
h_cap 29 Mar, 2024 @ 9:56am
A very neat mod that gives some net positive value (pun intended).

Having the cooked or salted fish in a separate container from the general food container is a bit annoying. I don't know if that could be changed without breaking compatibility though.

hey just a small idea, since salt is a thing in this mod, could be added a slave camp near the shore or a place rich in salt, were the slaves are mining salt? The salt there would be the cheapest, and maybe is a opportunity to profit as a salt route.
Trawlers 12 Oct, 2023 @ 9:15pm
A must have mod, makes starting out so much easier so you don't starve to death hunting down raw meat!
Exoreya 2 Oct, 2023 @ 8:52am
cool mod, love it for producing food especially early game
small note: if you build something that marks a settelment the settelment wont despawn even if there is only fishing stuff there
Elkstone 23 Jul, 2023 @ 8:02pm
" World Gone Fishing" would be a good name for this
philipinoidiot 22 May, 2023 @ 12:29pm
Im using the Food Biome mod and noticed that Thinfish are not a part of the Crows mod pack, it would be great addition to both mods as well as your own.

I enjoy using it pass time and sell fish in my game as a fishery :D

i wish you the best on future mods endeavors !
Trinity 14 Dec, 2022 @ 12:13am
good vanilla content
AngusCrow  [author] 11 Dec, 2022 @ 3:29pm
@Redarmy: I understand.
Redarmy 11 Dec, 2022 @ 6:24am
I agree what some other people said about making the mod harder. simply put,i love the mod,but it is farfar too easy to have never ending supply of free food. im able to support 9 main characters,2 animals and 12 slaves and still have over 100 fish capd in my barrel..

all this with only two fishing nets and mid stat people on them. used this mod since my first days in Kenshi,i do appreciate it,but since youve decided to not change anything because (and i understand) alot of people have subscribed,il be uninstalling. Kenshi needs to remain a challenge for me first and foremost.
Scroop Dogg 17 Sep, 2022 @ 11:49am
Love the mod, just confused as to why salted fish packs stack?

@Hack: Yes it's fine.

Hi! I am the developer of the Second Life of Kenshi mod, can I include your mods in my modpack?

If you want the salt mining and processing to have advanced levels, even be automated if you research enough, then I made a patch for you.
AngusCrow  [author] 1 Apr, 2022 @ 6:39am
@dOtt: Just have different characters do the different jobs and not have them sore the fish and forage for animals.
d0tt 1 Apr, 2022 @ 12:27am
Also I need to set the characters with Forage Animals to Hauling to: Storage: Dried Fish or they will loot those containers as well of all the fish
d0tt 1 Apr, 2022 @ 12:25am
Hello! Found some annoying behaviour when trying to use this mod, if you have characters set to Forage Animals you can't store the fish in storage. The characters with Forage Animals grab the fish from drying rack and fishing poles but never store them in the barrels.

Are fishing rod and nets marked as lootable animals somehow?
Cavanoskus 8 Feb, 2022 @ 9:13pm
Finally decided to try this and I love it! I'm running it alongside Sensible Nomadism and they complement each other perfectly.

Question, though: am I just not seeing it, or is there no dedicated storage for raw salt?

"Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man how to fish and he won't get mauled by a beak thing when trying to feed himself."
AngusCrow  [author] 6 Sep, 2021 @ 7:25am
@GruntRule: It may just be a priority with the food storage within the game.
GruntRule 6 Sep, 2021 @ 5:14am
For some reason my chars only haul grand fish to Food Storage even though I have them set to haul to a dedicated grand fish storage instead. Any idea what's going on?
AngusCrow  [author] 25 Aug, 2021 @ 10:40am
@realpikkio: As long as you can use both it should be ok.
realpikkio 25 Aug, 2021 @ 10:18am
thanks @AngusCrow! so the reason why you've created separate objects is so that they don't interfere with other mods? The thing is that I now see 2 different objects in the markets, one for vanilla dried fish and one for the dried fish produced with your mod's buildings... is this normal?
AngusCrow  [author] 25 Aug, 2021 @ 9:53am
@realpikkio: They are added icons that should not interfere with other mods.
realpikkio 25 Aug, 2021 @ 9:47am
thanks for this cool mod! One thing I am wondering though is if there is a reason why you've not used the vanilla "thinfish" instead of creating the "raw fish" item? same goes for the "dried fish" which seems to be a separate object from the vanilla "dried fish" (unless this happens due to a conflict with another mod which I have installed...)
Spartan007 17 Aug, 2021 @ 3:43pm
@AngusCrow thank you for reply.
AngusCrow  [author] 16 Aug, 2021 @ 8:02pm
@Sparton007: Not the fishing items themselves. If you add other items to your camp then yes it will.
Spartan007 16 Aug, 2021 @ 2:02pm
Does this make an outpost if I place these? Thank for any answers in advance

Haha fair enough
AngusCrow  [author] 5 Aug, 2021 @ 7:53am
With almost 43,000 subscribers to this mod I am not inclined to make any changes to it, sorry.
Regina George 5 Aug, 2021 @ 4:41am
Is it possible to make this harder? Like, maybe fishing in different areas means you'll catch fish faster/ slower, like how with farming and crops it depends what environment you're in. You could do the same with blood grubs! I feel like in arid places, acidic waters, or straight up unfertile places it would be harder to fish for things, whereas if you're near the sea, in a fertile place like in the HN or in the swamps, it would be easy to find fish :)
JoeTheezy 8 Jun, 2021 @ 7:43pm
great mod, i really wish they had added in fishing to the vanilla game, would have been great to see small or even large boats and maybe some larger shark and whale sea life to hunt and fish, maybe some underwater goliathan's that need to taken down with multiple ships or to just act as a mechanism that keeps you on your toes while out on open water.
AngusCrow  [author] 10 May, 2021 @ 7:10am
@brainlag: Yes
brainlag 9 May, 2021 @ 5:37pm
oh dw im just a random guy thinking out loud ^^ , but do you think it might be possible moddingwise?
AngusCrow  [author] 9 May, 2021 @ 4:57pm
@BRAINLAG: There are over 41 thousand players who have subscribed to this mod. It would not be right for me to change anything in it at this point. Sorry.
brainlag 9 May, 2021 @ 11:40am
ty for this amazing mod. Since its fishing, might it be possible to put a mechanic like for farming into it? ( chance to fail ) I think its still too easy and op while fun to have.
