Guys .. this is an awesome work! I can assure that he made an accurate reskin of the most important reforms that changed the roman army among end of III and start of IV century. First the Gallienvs (253-268BC) reforms that kept Segmentata and legios but reduced number and create "Vexillatios" (fast chosen corps, most cavalry) and Constantine I (305-337BC) reform!! Doing something so accurate is just quite rarely! Thank you Andrew!

Hey @Andrew. Great mod and I really love the reskins. I only have one concern. the spears of the auxiliary cohors thracum seem to be missing. Will this be fixed in the next update? thanks

Also, nice job with including some stuff from Leonardo's third century legionary mod as well. You should see if you can include the round shield he used for his roman legionaries and also the various shield textures/decorations as well. The more variety available the better, in my opinion.

Hi, just thought I'd check back in with a bit more constructive criticism. I like what you've done so far with the variation of swords used by the legionaries, but there's still a couple units for Aurelian's Rome that are using only the gladius, a few units for Gallic Rome that are using only the spatha(this may be intentional to more clearly show their celtic heritage maybe?) The armored swordsmen unit that Palmyra has could also use some variation in swords too.

I also noticed that the Longsword Cohort unit has basically identical equipment,(sword, shield and armor) to the regular Cohort unit that Gallic Rome has. You might want to try and vary up a bit, include more variety in the shields, add in some segementa and scale armor to mix up the armor as well.

This mod seems to work for me, but I have a question. I started a campaign as Aurelian, checked military buildings and I didn't find some of these new units. Do they come later? After an upgrade?

Hi guys. Whenever the AI faction Palmyra goes under, the game breaks off completely. I only play TW Rome 2 in combination with the Divide et Impera Mod. Please help me. thanks

It annoyed me that Roman Cohors and Legionaries have these weird chainmail coifs - not sure if there was any historical basis for that. Glad that the mod changes this.

yea you're right, I knew it must've been a conflict just wanted to double check with you...
it was a battle mod made by the Ancient Empires guys for some reason they didn't mention anywhere in their mod description that they adjusted the unit stats, so I never assumed their mod would have conflicted.

I wanted to ask if you have any plans to for more unit mods for Rise of Republic ? specifically some of the factions nobody really has done, like the Iolei ? thanks

Obviously, you are using a mod that lowers the stats of vanilla units. Maybe it's a Radious mod.

I just posted in your other Unit mod for ED, now looking through this one I see many of these units are Over Powered also....

@andrewboyarsky I guess make an only reskin pack should be great. New unit is nightmare for man not using english version and quite "not compatible" with card units mod, and some people just want reskin not added unit. Player can of course choose not to use it but AI will use it. I'm asking you permission to make one reskin pack containing all of your reskin files from your mod. It will be only publish with your aggreement and credits and further credits to kaziel etc.

I would like to combine mods, but not to multiply them. Therefore, I try to connect the reskin and new units in one mod.
I think in the 3rd century in the Roman army the barbarians were somewhere around 50% and the transition to spatha was gradual.

Hello sir, first great mod but I have some suggestion: first, an only skin mod should be welcome, why not an entire compilation of your mod but only reskin, no added unit.
Secondly, what do you think about replace gladius with spatha sword for ED units ?

I am writing about all significant changes in annotations. The latest changes are related to the release of a new update for Rome 2 and this does not affect the properties of the units.

Well there is not one startpos mod which makes aurelian survive, the ones that are there are outdated and destroy the family trees of factions, because of ancestreal update. Anway nice mod, ill give you a like.

Not only Aurelian has such units :) In order to strengthen any faction it is necessary to change the starpos-file. I would not want to do this in this simple mod. Other users may not like this.
