Couldn't you just set the world for "no ownership"? I'd test that out with an admin that could reclaim everything if lost. But I think that would let you live dangerously, die heroically, but then have buildings you could come back to. Been a minute since I played with those server settings though. Hope it helps
I love this mod, but it will only work on our server if the penalties are equal for all players. Thanks :)
That could be a brutal blow that isn't as permanent as permadeath, but is more potent than level loss and corruption.
I'm pairing this mod with "revive mechanics" and item loss would give off this vibe of "being looted" after going down.
I'd love to try it out if it gets an update!
Also I loved reading the description :D
Let's say you're level 20. Leveling all the way up to 30 is going to be much slower than just dying 10 times, losing 10 levels, and then leveling back up to 20 for lots of points to spend.
It's supposed to make dying more punishing but if you die lots of times it's almost more of a reward...
Level to a Minimum.
example, "Level 15 gets killed nothing happens, he's a noob he just followed the journey markers he don't know what he is talking about. "
The Level 25 though, he outta know better, He gets bumped down to 23... But then he decided to do the EXACT same thing again, because, he just couldn't help himself. Now he's 21... Shame on you, SHAME ON you mister level 25 but then a 23 and now a 21... I'm sure he's learned his lesson... But then... once in a blue moon, you meet that one guy... THAT one guy who likes pushing the red button that says don't push... AND he runs up and does the EXACT same thing that got him killed in the first place... AND got killed. Instead of going down to level 19 though... It's time for a little intervention. The guiding hand... he can't go back no further than level 20, we'll call it even."
Something like that... if it made sense with the wall of text.
Or this idea, which would probably be a lot more difficult to implement, but 1 level per death no more than 5 levels from initial death over x period of time.
So, level 25 gets killed 6 times, only lost 5 levels and is now level 20. But doesn't regain those levels for 24hours and dies another 5 times going down to level 15. Something like this?
You drive a hard bargon sir... but leather seats and a medallion on the hood or no deal!
I swear it! *Starts implementing mod on server*
