Good grief! You have to be spot on with your portal shooting or you're gonna have to go back to sqaure one repeatedly. I am happy I finally reached the exit, but it took me more attempts than I want to admit.

Interesting; I've never used hammer, so I'm just going off what I've heard. You say Hammer could redefine the map? That's a big word; I hope you don't mean refine. If you do mean redefine, then I would love to see that. :o

Actually, with catapults that wouldn't be anything new, or at least as far as I know. An entity called info_target can be used with trigger_catapult so that you land "there" instead of anywhere else, as well as settings that shooting the player in line-of-sight or upwards trajectory. But with Hammer, there's other things that could pull the player into a specific location. The same one that pulls a cube across the floor before it gets sucked into a pneumatic vent. But yeah, Hammer could redefine this map.

This really needs to be a Hammer map. I've heard the PS: Mel developers say that there is a catapult that can make sure that you're following the right trajectory; that would be a big help. At least having the portals always snap center would be a huge help.

@ lfairban..........LOL. We all need rigorous exercise every now and then. I just got thinking if this were made with Hammer, I could place teleport buttons throughout it and instantly bring you back to the start if you miss somewhere along the way.

this is a dreat fling puzzle but a nail biter. you have to make th entire first part with no mistakes or you keep having to go back. i did many times but finally made it out. :steamhappy:

@AirMech71........It actually can be done. Others were mentioning in the comments that if you portal more ahead before you get there, it will help funnel into it. A stiff wind? Hmmmm, the HVAC guys are on strike.

i wish i could complete this one...but something appears to be pushing me off course. A stiff wind perhaps? This can't be a chamber design flaw. Maybe someone has recalibrated the faith plate for someone of more generous-ness. Anyways...i'm not touching my directional keys and yet i'm hitting the edges of portals. So sad :(

This was meant to be a nothing more than a portal fling map. There are those who like to test their skill. I guess It's all about preference.

Sorry, IMHO, there is no puzzle, just ninja mouse moves. Not fun. No adventure, no logic.

You may want to take note of the maps I am having trouble loading. It could be just an unusually long load time or something is wrong with the map. I imagine if some players have the same loading problem they may not care mention it. They probably just move on...

Spaceminnow: Sometimes even I take a few tries to complete it. And I'm the one who created it. LOL. Some were mentioning about firing in advance for better funneling (read kimist108's comment).

I liked it so much I did it again :) I did the first part with far less tries than my previous completion.

I feel honored to have completed this jumping course. The first part took many attempts ( not sure how many lost count lol). Second part I did it on my first try :)

@skyferret that was pretty much how i did it. It is much easier that way and I thought that was how everyone did it. You will definitely need to remember to do that all the time. Later, I'll teach you some speedrunning techniques, if you want!!! P.S. Don't decline the offer, it's awesome!!! P.P.S. Just accept my friend request if you want!!! P.P.P.S. Unless you already know, then we'll have to work on some maps together because even though this map was pretty simple, for some reason it was really fun. I have a lot of map ideas that we'll use to make THE BEST MAP EVAR!!!! Final Thought: But then we might need some other people like Portal Nerd and Andi etc. but we can still try!!! My hint for this chamber. Shoot the exit portal first. Then, you have a better chance to line up the entry portal successfully.

I'm going to give up on this one. I have no idea how many times I've tried it and it always manages to launch me out of the portals short or at an angle right before the jump to the 2nd room. The closest I've gotten is the one time it actually let me go through that last portal set which should put you on the ledge to the 2nd room but instead it launched me right at the wall below the ledge.

YAY. You did it. I knew your perseverance would lead to fruition. And yes, shoot sooner so the portal is placed sooner giving the auto-funnel more time to better squeazel you into the hole. I forgot to mention that. I don't know if Sqeazel or WASDextrious are actual words, but they are now. Anyhow, thanks for playing.

It seems the earlier I get the portal on the panels the more time the auto funnel has to correct my path and the more likely I come out clean heading for the next one. I've got so I can tell on entry whether I'll exit lined up for the next set ok or offset.
I like the last test of 2 panels at the end. Once the series of panels is complete you're home...almost...

Ahhh, just completed main flip sequence for first time then missed the last panel right at the end after the 3 springs. Surprised to find myself ejected into the main chambers for that long traipse back to the start again. Couldn't see anyone selling coffee or cake. No buskers to entertain me. Considered uttering some unsavoury expletives aimed at the design engineer...but I'm actually having fun so won't do that...

Thanks for that. Yeah I'm using keyboard WASD and mouse, not gamepad. Will try the mid air adjust. I can't find the 'autofunnel' setting in P2. Was it just in Portal1? I think it is on anyway, but I need to crank it up a bit more.

It's the sorry traipse back through the chambers after the 3rd/4th flip to where I can portal up and back to the start spring that I spend most of my long nights doing :-(
I was wondering if anyone has created a coffee to go stall in a portal environment. Apart from the cake, which I never actually got to eat, snacks are few and far between ;-)

If you're coming back every now and then to try it instead of spending the whole night banging your head on the wall, that's probably best. Being the fact it's my own map, you'd think I should be able to do it no problem, but sometimes I try about 5 times. Then when I do get it I'm thinking "holy shit, I did it". LOL. I think aim can be adjusted mid flight with the movement keys, but I'm not good at that. Other players are good at using the WASD keys while playing. I guess I'm not WASDextrious. You might want to check the settings for "auto-funnel" that will help guide you into the portal. You'd think trajectory would be the same each time, but it seems to change. But like I mentioned, movement adjust during flight may help.

I've tried maybe 50+ times and got as far as the last panels in the first series of 8 flings in the lower chambers. Most often I somehow become offset and hit the portal sides rather than the middle. I can't work out why this happens most times but not always. Usually my portal looks to be in the centre of the panels but still I land offset on the next panel. I can see that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't so I guess it's my aim. I will keep trying - my accuracy is improving over 3 weeks. hehe. :-) It's quite adrenalin stimulating....
A good background challenge to keep coming back to while I also play other puzzles.

Frustrated right now. I played it and wanted to record my blindrun for you. But this seems impossible to complete. Especially the last two panels. I can't reach the 13th panel. Theres too much momentum. Try moving it behind. Also, the 3rd and 5th panel are kinda hard to go through.I tend to gain too little momentum to reach the 3rd panel while I tend to hit the sides of the 5th panel rather than the center of it. Also, I think theres too little time for you to shoot the 6th and 7th panel. Other than that, its okay.
