Excellent scenario with fantastic traffic, - great work,- thanks!
best regards

For a scenario that is nearly four years old I am surprised this scenario still works at all ... I have scenarios that are less than one year old that have been broken by updates and cant be completed without CTDs ...

Hi Matt,
Thankyou for an absolutely fantastic visual experience. Always something happening second by second from the departure in London to the arrival in Brighton!
Thankfully I had no issues during the drive and the whole scenario was as smooth as silk.
Thankyou again for sharing a wonderfully extraordinary scenario with us all!
Regards,
Tony.

What a fantastic scenario! The amount of AI is unbelievable and made this one of the best scenarios I have played. Right up there with the Crush Hour scenarios. Many thanks for creating Matt.

John, I didnt make the DLC so its not really relavant to this scenario ... the following is copy and pasted from the manual: "Note that classic camshaft power control systems like this do not allow "graduated"
power release, ie you can't reduce power by moving the controller direct from
PARALLEL to SERIES. To reduce power first move the controller to OFF, then advance
it to SERIES."
Rammy 21 May, 2014 @ 10:54am
Great scenario had a issue with Throttle control on keyboard if i decreased speed by going from 50% to 25% did not slow down just kept accelerating had to go to zero for it to slow same from 100% to 75% did not slow had to reduce to Zero.

1st time I ran this was on my laptop, really enjoyed it. Just ran it on my new pc with graphics on max, and it's awesome, not a stutter, ran perfectly. What a brilliant scenario, well done. Cheers.
Crazynick 19 Nov, 2013 @ 12:05pm
A Neat uncomplicated scenario to the south coast, plenty of AI Traffic, just keep an eye on the signals and the speed limits, will run this again,, Thanks..
crepello55 1 Oct, 2013 @ 11:10am
Superb scenario, even down to the arrival at Brighton where the EMU comes off the Eastbourne branch and almost collides with the player train! Plenty of Class 33's too which made it feel more Southern! All we need now is a decent Class 73!
ash 21 Sep, 2013 @ 8:40am
Excellent scenario, Cheers.

Hi Matt, I just love this Scenario, plenty of traffic. I am a great fan of the old "slamdoors" CIG's, BIG's, VEP's etc. This is probably my fav scenario on Steam. Thanks a lot for all your hard work putting it together. Just to let you know I had no probs running it just the usual few stutters as expected at busy places. Thanks again and please do some more.
c.giles6 2 Aug, 2013 @ 1:11pm
Hi Matt, great scenario really enjoyed thundering along, few instances of stuttering but considering the amount of A1 no problem.
I would love a copy of the version with the IHH gatwick express, Cheers and thanks
sylgold 20 Jul, 2013 @ 1:45pm
Excellent. Thank you for your job.
MaTT  [author] 15 Jul, 2013 @ 9:06am
Thanks guys ... if anyone wants the original proper version of this scenario featuring the IHH Gatwick Expresses and freeware 4EPBs (which cant be used in the workshop) give me a prod next weekend and I'll put up a link for it
tomsharplrw 15 Jul, 2013 @ 4:12am
Love love love this activity, real nostalgia fest, highly recommended
Ross-E.P 12 Jul, 2013 @ 1:56pm
PROBBALY the best workshop scenario I have played. AI is like being 6 again, just sit and watch all the different locos. Makes a change to see engineers trains in engineers siding, and more than 2 trains at a station. Will give ANY PC a workout though, the price you av to pay for not having just two trains at a station.... EXCELLENT WORKSHOPPING!!!!! Ran with NO problems, except a few single figures FPS... C-L-A-PHAM was bad!!! Buy a decent PC and enjoy more like this............
thewoodman028 3 May, 2013 @ 9:51am
A great run down memory lane,I used to go to Brighton as a lad with my grandad on the Brighton Fast so I remember it well, that old stock had a bit more character tham todays trains,i think. Must have been a real labour of love adding in all those extra AI services, but it certainly adds to the enjoyment,Well Done.
gc.fox 23 Apr, 2013 @ 6:19am
Excellent piece of work! Keeps you on your toes throughout. Thanks for creating this.
PTGRail 1 Apr, 2013 @ 11:47pm
Very good scenario and very well put together. I really enjoyed it.
MaTT  [author] 20 Mar, 2013 @ 8:36am
You drive a 4CIG, its a play on words, probably best take it up with any surviving members of the BR board, it was quite irrisponsible of them to name a multiple unit after a handful of fags, that said in the late 60s early 70s smoking was still a healthy occupation ... However I cannot guarentee this scenario wont give you cancer ...
BeefCakeColin 20 Mar, 2013 @ 7:51am
not sure i like trains being referd to as a pack of cigarettes
richfx 18 Mar, 2013 @ 11:49am
Worked perfectly for me Matt with TSX and everything on. Brilliant scenario, thanks.

All the best

Rich
KillingJoke 28 Feb, 2013 @ 10:40am
Just ran it again with TSX off!.. and no problems this time.
KillingJoke 28 Feb, 2013 @ 6:16am
just ran into the same s.croydon crash with i5 and 16gb of memory on system.. i noticed coming down the line that there was a hold up of trains from streatham onwards which caused the train crash at s.croydon. Anyway gonna come back to it later and use your tips and see if it works.
Rawr xD 26 Feb, 2013 @ 3:42am
Geat work ran with no problems for me and i only have 2 gig of ram.
uk trainsim forum has a nice setup feature in there forum to help you get the best out of low spec machines
GJT 13 Feb, 2013 @ 1:08pm
Fantastic scenario. Made it to the end after taking note of the above. Definately my problems were due to lack of ram. Worth it in the end, many thanks.
roddymax 12 Feb, 2013 @ 11:11am
I think this scenario is excellent and very addictive but I need to increase memory from 4GB and the sim seems to end after East Croydon for me. I found the explanation informative but I dont understand some of the terms used. What is AI rigor and can you perhaps explain further the comment about low tolerance.
MaTT  [author] 12 Feb, 2013 @ 9:13am
Thanks Oleeskildandersen, thats interesting to know ... goes back to my original concern that it may be caused by systems not coping with the sheer numbers of AI ... i just tested the scenario again myself with no problems, I also inspected it in editor, again with no issues having developed, i do notice however that when service 60 starts its run its at the peak of AI activity with over 50 trains in motion, so it seems this scenarios bad press stems from RSC being so lazy when creating the route and not adding enough portals to allow true prototypical operation, im going to update the info to set some reccommended minimum requirements ...
oleeskildandersen 12 Feb, 2013 @ 8:09am
I play the scenario just now with none mistakes at all - and I vill say that is - so far - the best scenario att all for me. A lot of trains driving and on the sidings too.
My PC is a I7 - this morning I try the scenario on a I5 PC, and the game stopped several places and i have one A1 collision and all happend after East Croydon. I think that the catches had to bee integreted.
But anyway this scenario is the best so far
MaTT  [author] 12 Feb, 2013 @ 7:44am
The scenario must have been damaged by Steam ... It functioned perfectly until a couple of weeks ago, and it worked fine the first time it was published last year, i can't recreate the problem locally and none of the scenarios that have been made using this scenario as a template have any issues (some of them have an additional 30-40 trains!) ... unfortunately Steam have removed the insights so I cant see if some people are still running it ok, at least I would be able to tell if its damage to the scenario itself or if some peoples systems are just struggling with the volume of AI ... There was a reason i pulled my scenarios from Steam last year, seems my decision to give this crappy unstable games platform a second chance was pretty stupid, I dont spend days designing and testing scenarios just to have them cocked up ... if anyone else has issues running this scenario I suggest they contact support ...
GJT 12 Feb, 2013 @ 7:18am
Service 60 gets stuck @ S Croydon station & service 62 runs into the back of it causing a crash have not carried out any saves. Seems to keep happening
roddymax 11 Feb, 2013 @ 10:50am
Keeps crashing even when I'm standing in a station!!
MaTT  [author] 6 Feb, 2013 @ 7:32am
Saving and continiung will nearly always kill a complex AI scenario because the AI is recalculated from the restart point, if a scenario has more than 50 or 60 AI or AI that interacts with the player train just dont save and continue unless you want it to not work ... AI rigor (the 1mph train) is caused by memory shortages or missing instructions from corrupted downloads, I'm glad the AI problem is just rigor because it signifys no intrisic fault in the scenario itself, complex scenarios can behave differently on different systems, however, just in case the rigor is caused by a corrupted file delete the scenario and re-download it from the workshop, if it doesnt work for you you're out of luck.
CaseyJones24 6 Feb, 2013 @ 7:04am
Tried it again today. Took the precaution of saving at East Croydon.
This time I got as far as Salfords and had to stop at a Red signal T217 as a visable service 2 was in front moving at about 1mph. I saved again and now when I reload it I get an immediate error saying service 79 has left it's path. I have a screen shot with the error message. I can forward it if you'd like it for your invsestigation.
JLD95 5 Feb, 2013 @ 10:19pm
Greatest hit, thank you Matt for this updated version.
MaTT  [author] 5 Feb, 2013 @ 10:31am
humm just run it again in case some perameters have changed, I cant reproduce the problem, as its intermittant (even Horsley was able to run the scenario after several trys) i suspect it may be AI rigor caused by insuffiant memory, its a small risk with AI rich scenarios especially on L2B, because of the severe lack of portals AI dwell times are extended, the area around Croydon would be a danger area because by that point in the scenario the most AI will be in motion at any one time, unless i can get some actual information about the collision and I can repeat the problem It will have be discounted as an intrinsic fault in the scenario, especially given that none of the other scenarios from which this was created show any issues either.
MaTT  [author] 5 Feb, 2013 @ 9:08am
This AI collision is new ... its only the second time its ever been reported, there were no reports of it happening when it was published last year, and its the most tested sceanrio I have ever released ... do you know which services are involved? ... its quite a serious issue if this scenario has developed a fault because its the template for a family of seven scenarios in my ongoing project 85, its possible RSC have tinkered with the performance of something, needless to say any faults in this are likely to scupper the whole family so i need to address it with some urgency. ...
CaseyJones24 5 Feb, 2013 @ 8:46am
Enjoyed this very much untill the AI collision as below just after South Croydon.
wearecity 4 Feb, 2013 @ 10:55am
Really enjoy that. No issues for me, arrived 2 mins early into Brighton. Had to turn down some graphic settings due to the amount of AI, but worth it to experience so many different trains running around.
horsley42 3 Feb, 2013 @ 10:44am
My first four attempts at driving this scenario resulted in an AI crash just past South Croydon. The fifth attempt ( lots of stamina, eh? ) was a complete and delightful drive to Brighton. Brilliant piece of scenario writing here. Tons and tons of blue/grey slammer AI candy along with a nice mix of diesel freight and passenger goodies. Superb ! Thoroughly enjoyed this run and will be driving it again. My thanks to all invloved in it's creation. Well done ! ! !
nelssam 3 Feb, 2013 @ 4:09am
Great scenario taking me back to many years of commuting in such trains. Thank you.
MaTT  [author] 2 Feb, 2013 @ 5:21am
Thanks guys, I have a full even more immersive version including EPBs and 73s and Gatwick Express consists which will be available again when my site is back up and running.
adrew 2 Feb, 2013 @ 4:56am
well what can i say i was a driver at selhurst and on many ocasions drove this route and i must say you have done a very nice job on your version
jchillin316 1 Feb, 2013 @ 8:09pm
So realistic! I especially enjoyed having the AI train join me at the approach to Brighton. Very nice touch.
maccer 31 Jan, 2013 @ 11:11am
What a good scenario to drive! The amount of AI trains seen was superb, love the hey day of the BlueGrey double arrow emblem. Took me back to those wonderfull slam door days. More scenarios like this please. Good work fella!
