Appears to be not working, lost my extra trade route when I went to Renaissance Era for the Colossus, definitely used to work

I think you may have to build the wonder first then when you advance to the next era it won't disappear

For some reason wonders do become oboslete/unbildable. I still have them in the building que, but they`re greyed out with "No buildable place" or among those lines, but all the conditions are made for it. era before i could build in in the same place as now in the classsical is greyed out.

Kind of a shame that you can't start a game in a later era and then build something from an era you skipped. :(
Nizou 26 Jul, 2019 @ 1:18pm
Is it compatible with June patch ? And does it work on modded wonders ?

well. rebuilding wonders are real. there was this crazy tomb of a chinese emperor one of the khans burnt down because he took the wrong turn (literally) but he rebuilt it afterwards because he feared ancestral retribution. so idk why they would just remove that shit.

btw; so cool you give mod file location, even when it is contained within the url of the mod. 😉

@Noturne I believe that change would be in the same realm that Matt Locke mentioned below. I don't believe it's in the realm of our capabilities as modders yet since they never released .dll code like they did with Civ 5.

Can you add the possibility to REBUILD destroyed wonders from City States, I razed or from ennemy cities I razed too ? They change that in R&F and I found that not cool .... Purpose of attacking other civ could be to destroy cities which build wonders I would like to do :/

@TheDude

What you're talking about has nothing to do with obsolete Wonders, but to a change Firaxis made in the Spring Update. If you raze a city that has a World Wonder in it, that Wonder is gone from your game until you create a new game. It's just unbuildable. And, as far as I know, no one has found the code to make Wonders buildable again after they've been destroyed. SO frustrating since this was possible since launch until earlier this year!
TheDude 5 Sep, 2018 @ 2:44pm
Does this mean that if a wonder is destroyed, it can be built again, even if you are already in a different era.
I.e., I am in Information Era, but have destroyed a Classic Era wonder in a war with another civ, can I rebuild that Classic Era wonder?
persephone977 20 Jun, 2018 @ 6:37pm
Oh, OK. Yeah I tend to play games starting at Ancient, so if it would still become obsolete as normal. Thanks for the clarification! :)
Angryr  [author] 19 Jun, 2018 @ 7:32pm
You misunderstand what it means for a wonder to be obsolete. If you start a vanilla game in an era other than ancient, prior era wonders may not be buildable based on the era you started at. This removes that so that if you start in the information era you can still build pyramids. I would love to expand it to what you think it does; however, that is either not in my current capabilities (I believe it requires the dlls) or I am not aware of an existing way to do it. I suppose I should update the description so people are less confused about it.

Several games through, Great LIbrary got message (not built in time), checked and it wasn't produced by other Civ. Some other wonders too, that's just the one that pops to mind immediately. Is there some other reason it could come up with that message, besides era switching or another Civ building it?
Angryr  [author] 19 Jun, 2018 @ 5:53pm
@persephone What appears to not be working about it? Working just fine for me.
persephone977 19 Jun, 2018 @ 5:07pm
Appears to not be working any more. :(
Jessy2299 21 Feb, 2018 @ 4:53pm
Could you do this with wall ? So that they no more become unbuildable after steel is reserch
AmeliaRose 18 Feb, 2018 @ 8:03am
Thank you for this mod! I've seen this happen a few times but I just thought some other civ built it and it wouldnt tell me. lol
SumYungGuy 30 Jan, 2018 @ 12:11pm
Never had this happen, but if I was guessing, I'd say it relates to starting games in later eras.
DrakEmono 26 Jan, 2018 @ 2:04pm
I'm maybe wrong, but I don't think wonders can become impossible to build after a certain time...
I mean, at some points of a game, I had a wonder I could build within 6 turns (the Colossus) and I was close to the final era.
Angryr  [author] 14 Jan, 2018 @ 2:23pm
@twsworld I'll see what I can do when I get time to do some more modding. No promises :D
Legodudelol9a 14 Jan, 2018 @ 2:01pm
Could you make a mod that disables the placement restrictions for wonders, 'cause that sounds like something that would be right up your alley.
Angryr  [author] 13 Jan, 2018 @ 9:55am
I'm just using the terminology the devs have in the database table. The field is literally called ObsoleteEra.
SalzStange 13 Jan, 2018 @ 8:55am
btw thumbs up. nice little mod
SalzStange 13 Jan, 2018 @ 8:54am
you should change the description a little bit. because wonders are not obsolete. THey jsut disappear i guess
Angryr  [author] 7 Jan, 2018 @ 7:42am
@APenInSpaaaace Unfortunately no, possibly in the future when they release the DLL code but as of now the modding only has a "EraType" field and not an "EraTypeObsolete" field. So Great People are coded to only appear during the current era.
Library of Alexandria 7 Jan, 2018 @ 12:49am
Could you do this for great people?
White Shadow 5 Jan, 2018 @ 8:32pm
Ah, thank you. I guess I typically build the wonders I want right away, and haven't noticed this was a thing. Nice mod, though.
Angryr  [author] 5 Jan, 2018 @ 8:16pm
No, I'm pretty certain it's just the ability to build them. I assume it has to do with production values and Great Engineers being able to instant-build the early ones if they were never built prior.
White Shadow 5 Jan, 2018 @ 7:45pm
I guess I never knew wonders became "obsolete" in this game. Do they stop losing their effects after a while, or are you just unable to build them after so many eras?
