What you're talking about has nothing to do with obsolete Wonders, but to a change Firaxis made in the Spring Update. If you raze a city that has a World Wonder in it, that Wonder is gone from your game until you create a new game. It's just unbuildable. And, as far as I know, no one has found the code to make Wonders buildable again after they've been destroyed. SO frustrating since this was possible since launch until earlier this year!
I.e., I am in Information Era, but have destroyed a Classic Era wonder in a war with another civ, can I rebuild that Classic Era wonder?
I mean, at some points of a game, I had a wonder I could build within 6 turns (the Colossus) and I was close to the final era.
