using a horker tusk to polish a gem is logic, because it's made in enamel, and enamel is REALLY though.

"The recipe itself doesn't really make sense, but I choose a Misc item that has pretty much no use in the base game"

So the recipe MAKE sense :D

I was wondering why I wasn't seeing these recipes...after hunting for flawless gems for the past 3+ hours...

Hey look! A use for all those tusks and everything you never pick up because of uselessness! AND crafting flawless gems! *subs*

can you make the gems require nothing to make?
WORLD OF AJ 27 Oct, 2013 @ 9:10am
Thank you so much

"Unrealistic"? I justify it by saying the crushed bones are used to polish the gems to perfection. So there.

To be honest I dont see why people are saying its unrealilistic in a game where you shoot fire, snow, and lighting out of your hands and shoot dragons out of the sky, why do people complain?

theres a mod just like this in which you make flawless gems with a normal gem and a gold ingot it dosn't make sence either

nice mod. to drop the bass: tusk isn't hard enough to carve most gems... however, since with some gems heating improves the look, perhaps the tusks are being used as fuel, with different types for different levels of heat.
eh, shutting up now.
Pól O'Délie 18 Jun, 2013 @ 8:40am
you could be using the tusks to carve the gem... that makes sense right?
JesperKyde 29 May, 2013 @ 5:36am
@jwblaze, true, but it is the only easy method of doing so rather than having him moddel and script in a few appraiser merchants that will "upgrade" or refine your gems.
@shaveyahead, i completely see your point, but it still remains that your useing a semi rare item and a non rare or uncommon item to get an even rarer item (that sounds like bad grammer, fuck it).

Indeed you don't. I chose Horker Tusks simply because there's an abundance of them in the game, and the only use for them presently is as part of a small quest in which you only need one of. I understand your questioning the realism of it, but I'm sure you can acknowledge that it does make sense to use something that's not rare. I also explain this in the description.
Jwblaze 26 May, 2013 @ 2:31pm
@HereComesLeeroy i agree but the smelter part is unrealistic you don't see people in real life use smelters to refine gems, do you.
JesperKyde 24 May, 2013 @ 8:35pm
sooo why horker tusks? i dont know about you guys but that makes no sense to me to make a flawless version of the gem. if your at a smelter and you wanted to REFINE the gem to make it BETTER, a tusk wouldnt help. something that would make more sense would be useing more of that gem. (ex. flawless ruby = x# of rubys)

not trying to be mean at all, i cant even use CK so ur way better than me right there lol.

@Reedy I don't know. It's ok if you don't upload it, my problem with the steam workshop is that it will autoupdate and with over 200 mods running it is difficult to figure out which mod caused my game to crash. I doubt yours would cause problems though.

@Wolfnut88 can Mods made on the Creation Kit be uploaded to Nexus?
Wolfnut88 24 Feb, 2013 @ 1:58am
