I've never found official information, 15k polygons most often leads to a better result.
Especially bad is the auto-division of the model for models that have eyes (valve) or flex, I long could not understand why the eyes do not work.

The measurement I was using so far was through size. I noted that SMDs bigger than 4mb caused splitting.

I figured it out when I tried to compile a model of a yacht from the GTA. But it happens that the compiler agrees to compile even 25k polygons, per 1 element of the model.

Ah yes, the prototype Polish tank. This is more detailed than the AW model, shame it has the Khanjali lettering.

Also, thanks for clearing up the compile limit as 15k per element, that was something that I could never accurately figure out.

I know that you can compile 500+ polygons, I mean the number of polygons in 1 element of the model, the limit is 15k polygons per element, otherwise the SFM compiler will share this model and artifacts will appear.

Crowbar Tool is up to 100K polygons if I'm right.

This is an interesting transport, I'll try to port it. I hope the compiler will cope with such quantity of polygons, since I do not want to use a simplified model.
