pepe 7 Feb, 2018 @ 9:44am
im assuming the main gun goes inside the heavy armor casing?
SabbathGaming 6 Feb, 2018 @ 1:10pm
yes plz do that I am trying to make a 150-200k missile lazer cruser and need a good looking hull desine. I am not all that good at making good looking ships just OP ones
RandomNOOBY  [author] 6 Feb, 2018 @ 10:41am
lol
Emrule 6 Feb, 2018 @ 8:49am
yeah stop showing off ahaha
RandomNOOBY  [author] 6 Feb, 2018 @ 7:35am
yeah, I will upolad a hull colection if u want 30-200 meters most of them
SabbathGaming 6 Feb, 2018 @ 6:40am
do u have more templits like this
RandomNOOBY  [author] 6 Feb, 2018 @ 12:41am
@xeridan nice work
RandomNOOBY  [author] 5 Feb, 2018 @ 5:03pm
@Emrule I understand about 5% of this game if im lucky, so might call you for help, 2 things I cant yet make work 100% are Ai system that IDs enemies based on speed altitude and size, then builds appropriate weapon system (docked subvehicles) in empty weapon bays, the other is AT style walkers with multi jointed legs that move in a life like manner, almost got the first one, the second might be to difficult for me.
Pwnicus 5 Feb, 2018 @ 4:49pm
@emrule well then you should understand that this is for helping people new to the game get started on making a functioning ship :P
@random thankyou! I've been staggering wood, metal, and air gaps with a little heavy armor around key components where it's most needed. Gonna give this a try as well.
Emrule 5 Feb, 2018 @ 9:04am
um im pretty sure i understand basically everything but kthx
Viirr 5 Feb, 2018 @ 12:39am
@RandomNOOBY thank you. following Lathlands videos has helped me develop my own ship in various ways. Lathrix is GOD of this game :D but as i continue to improve my design, i'm still WAY behind you and many others.
RandomNOOBY  [author] 4 Feb, 2018 @ 2:50pm
@shack your stuff shows all the basic understanding of centre mass , armouring, etc, and a couple of advanced tricks, and does this while still looking cool, Its better than a hell of a lot of the stuff on the workshop
RandomNOOBY  [author] 4 Feb, 2018 @ 2:47pm
@Emrule its a learning tool once you understand more of game you will see why
RandomNOOBY  [author] 4 Feb, 2018 @ 2:46pm
@ Pwnicus outer layer: mainly alloy for stabilisation, bouyancy and low radar/ sonar image, sloped 3/4alloy,1/4 heavy mix at front for best bouyancy vs armour, internal layers use multiple redundant components as soft armour, its just a cost effective armour type that is multifunctional,
its good but not as good v squash heads and plasma shells (shaped explosives) to couner those threats specifically i would add some reactive armour and a few more air gaps.
Emrule 4 Feb, 2018 @ 12:13pm
why... how is this front page.
Pwnicus 4 Feb, 2018 @ 7:03am
@Random I sort of understand spalling, but can you explain the layers with all the alloy? cool lil setup here
Viirr 4 Feb, 2018 @ 6:52am
Beast Gunner was meant to be Heavy Cruiser / battleship level craft. i do possess lighter ships as well.
Viirr 4 Feb, 2018 @ 6:51am
thank you on your comments on Beast Gunner. I haven't actually published too many of my ships because i fell they all are lacking too much. i would like to see your ships on multiplayer sometime... and share ideas with you
RandomNOOBY  [author] 4 Feb, 2018 @ 5:57am
Nice work on the beast gunner, spaced armour, under turret armour, turet spaciing to aviod turret pop, have a look at red commanders turrets for more armoring ideas
RandomNOOBY  [author] 4 Feb, 2018 @ 5:44am
at shackjack, I tested the torpedo ram based off this hull costing 30% less than your big destroyer, the ram won fairly easilly, most of this hull is the way it is to find a balance between cost and combat effectivness, main issue for me is forward weapon bay has no heavy armour, if you dont like boiler setup, change fuel electric proirty, about 6 button clicks and have the power system run the other way round with the fuel engines taking most of the load
RandomNOOBY  [author] 4 Feb, 2018 @ 5:24am
the boilers on the side are deliberate they act as a soft armour and are multiply redundant, boiler levels are fully contralable by ACB so you can set them to be efficient or inefficient
Viirr 4 Feb, 2018 @ 5:19am
your design is nice, but this is really wasteful for any use. Boilers are maybe effective on creating the power, but they are material hungry. and in this configuration extremely easy for HEAT shells to damage. i don't say your build is bad, just telling where you need to improve the design
[42DR] elfkan 3 Feb, 2018 @ 9:27pm
As a player with 600+ hours, this is still a great help. Thanks!
Blitz ÂceRosin 2 Feb, 2018 @ 8:20pm
You should make a prefab kit, much like there's a Destroyer prefab kit available.
RandomNOOBY  [author] 2 Feb, 2018 @ 5:00pm
click green subscribe button, then from game menu: vehicle workshop: the save, then back to designer or campaign and escape then load.... or something close to that
DiamondDelver 2 Feb, 2018 @ 4:13pm
how does one load things in
Fyren 2 Feb, 2018 @ 5:33am
I only recently started with FtD, so having a hull i can use as a reference (i still like making my own) is pretty great. Thank you.
