Sorry, no. Knightsleeper's mods and addons are merely rip-offs of my work and other authors on the workshop who never got any credit from him/her taking their work. He made a pack of everything everyone else made on the workshop without asking for permission and then posted said pack and said "It's all you will need." Also his 'rebuild' isn't, he/she has only change the game cosmetically and didn't fix any of the issue like decompression not working on the moon or Europa.
But, with others specific mods, some heavy issues happened.
I want explain one which issue by a game crash at start.
Some incompatibilities happened with the following mod:
Knightsleeper Game Rebuild
Can you fix the cause please ?
Kind regards
I can assure you this works fine. You've got a conflict with another mod or addon running with your game. You need to check the console or error logs in the game folder to see what is causing the conflict.
I figure you start your game get that white box in the upper left it maximizes and then just dumps you back to the desktop. This is how the game acts if there is a mod or addon conflict. As I said check the log files you can find them in the 'Troubleshooting Guide' on the main discussion forum.
Just did a check of the mod for the main branch and had no issue starting up the game. Which means you've got a conflict with another mod/addon or an outdated/broken mod you're trying to run with the game.
What does the console.log or error.log say after you try running the game and it doesn't start?
You can find the log files here: Steam\userdata\<Your Steam ID>\244030\local
Here is a bug I stumbled upon...
The spools act like cable converters.
Take a 10m power cable and wrap it on a 5m resource cable spool... even an empty one... and... viola!... You get a 5m resource cable.
Move that same piece of cable from spool to spool and it will change to the item originally held by said spool.
Need another 10m power cable, but only have a 5m resource cable on hand? No problem, just wrap that little guy around this here spool that originally had 10m power cables and you're in business.
Note to self... keep empty spools organized.
Sockets: Attach a 'Resource Socket' or 'Socketed Barrel' to the input or output on the tank. Then attach the resource cable to the 'Resource Socket' or 'Socketed Barrel' and the resource should start flowing. The cable is color coded, red is output and green is input.
I was able to attach a 'Resource Socket' to both of the lander's input and output tanks and was able to transfer the resource using a cable that wasn't primed and right off the spool.
Attach Cables: Take a cable with a red end and bring it near a green end cable. You should get the prompt to attach.
The first is sockets can not be connected to the Default Lander input tanks unless it has been primed with the proper resource before hand (their is no issue placing them on the output nozzles).
The second is unlike power cables I can't seem to chain multiple resource cables together. The only way I found to make a long link is by alternating a cable, a resource merger, a cable, a resource merger etc.
Also need to know how to make the new version so as to only be used with my Mod as it will only be compatible with it and not others; or add Mod requirement; how do I do that?
The Mod here is not a requirement for my Mod to work; but the update only works with my Mod; I just mention that in the info on the Mod?
Thank you for the time to test and confirm, i am indeed running yours and did delete the old one so i would go with a mod conflict at this point. I will test further to narrow it down, thanks again!
This is 'Resource Cables' for the Main Branch of the game by Mr. Monochrome. The version by Marajin is outdated you might be running that one.
Just ran a quick test and this is working fine on the main branch as it's made for. You're either running an outdated version or you have a conflict with another mod or addon. You need to enabled each mod or addon separately until you find which is crashing out your game.
Process of elimination.
Whereas I do have the models for the power cables and loaded them into Maya, there didn't appear to be anyway of decreasing the the overall size of the cable itself.
Also the shorter cable doesn't really use the power cable itself the controller just removes a certain amount of segments of the overall length to make it shorter. Meaning there isn't an actual shorter cable model from which to work or base anything off of.
Wouldn't work.
There isn't really a need for white/black listing as the cable is dependant on what you put through it. If you run O2, it becomes an Oxygen cable, if you pipe CO2 , it becomes a CO2 cable and vise versa with the other resources.
The cables being invisible is not the game it's how the models were made. Something which I can't fix as I don't have the original model files nor do I do modelling. Sorry... I'm just keeping this mod alive at this point.
TKOM has a limit to how many mods it can show at one time.
I dunno then. It's something on steam's side then... as that's where the file is.
It is downloading every other mod (and their updates) just fine as well as all of the games (and thier updates).
Check here to confirm you've subscribed/downloaded it:
<Drive Letter>:\Steam\userdata\<Your Steam ID>\244030\local\addonpacks
or
Default steam install location inside Program Files (Program Files(x86) / steam...)
Make sure your firewall, any peer/IP blocker or any other anti-software isn't blocking steam from downloading.
I have even gone as far as to reset to defaults, un-install / re-install, delete all cache and temp files on entire pc, reboot pc after doing each thing (a 2nd time), un-install / re-install steam.
Any ideas what could be causing the issue?
No problem. Enjoy!
In addition do not use this version: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1418223333 unless you are using the 'Realistic Resources' mod by Moonraker.
The issue you are experienceing is with this version of the mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=844581578 which is by Marajin not me. His version is outdated this is why your game is crashing out.
To fix this issue you need to do the following:
1. Goto the Steam library page for Take On Mars
2. Click on the 'Play' button and then 'Open Launcher'
3. Uncheck the box if it is checked this will disable it.
4. Load the game and goto the 'Addons' menu
5. Find the 'Resource Cables' mod in the list and make sure on the left it reads 'Author - Marajin'
6. Left click 'Delete and Unsubscribe'
7. Confirm with 'Yes' you want to delete and unsubscribe
8. Return to this page: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1314743183 and subscribe to my version
9. Enable and play
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bKzHcsfeZpE_lpUCt92DfMJWqKJruGs9GvmvqR1mNP4/edit?usp=sharing
In addition if you could also provide your console.log, crash.log or error.log found here:
<Drive Letter>:\Steam\userdata\<Your Steam ID>\244030\local
or
Default steam install location inside Program Files (Program Files(x86) / steam...)
And share any of them using google drive, dropbox or any online file sharing service so I can take a look at the log files.
Silent Pressure Alarm w/ Faster Airlocks
Unlimited Resources
Resource Cables (Main Branch) [This one]
Enable Editor Non-Dev
Manned Mobile Laboratory New Panel
Weightless resource tanks
3x More Power Output
Clean Solars
Time To Sleep
Shielded Vehicles (AIO)
Deblurred Night Vision
And the 3/9/18 kwh batteries
All had been disabled in the launcher except for the resource cables.
Please list the mods or addons you use. I can then troubleshoot your issue.
I'd also found out myself that dispite me seemlying unsubscribing from the older Resource Cables and sub'ing to the newer this didn't in fact appear to be the case until I used the in-game facilty to "delete" the mod/addon, then the issue seemed to be resolved.
Thanks very much for dealing with this, your excellent mod (and it's maintenance) and help pointing my to the newer Botanist addon.
The problem you're experiencing is due to Botanist by Olrik-Jhornar, his version is outdated and breaks the game.
Using this version: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1422067408 will fix the issue.
I also ran this version of Resource Cables by itself and had no issues. I then ran it along with the mods/addons you listed below. The game crashed out when I had 'Botanist' by Olrik-Jhornar enabled. After disabling it the game ran fine.
I would also suggest running 3D PRINTER X (FIXED), as the original by Laren X and it's copies are outdated and broken.
If I disable just Resources Cables with all other mods/addons enabled the game appears to loads fine.
Mods and Addons that's previously worked OK together:
* Battery
* Botanist
* Recycle Tools
* Time to sleep
* Resource Cables (Main Branch) [Either version of the "Main Branch"]
* Extra Items (2.0)
* Flags_walls
* 3D PRINTER X
* SpaceAgency_walls
I've determined that Botanist causes this mod to crash the game. It would seem the author of Botanist directly copied the texture files from Resource Cables when making said mod. But failed to remove the lines which reference textures from Resource Cables. Also Botanist is outdated and I wouldn't reccomend using it.
If you have Botanist enabled this is why your game is crashing, if you don't use Botanist please list the mods or addons you do use and I can check for any conflicts.
To troubleshoot your issue I need to know the following:
Try to re-create the crash/freeze and then check the log files #4 below. Open each one in notepad or notepad++, scroll to the bottom of each and post the error message. This will tell us why it might have crashed.
1. Mods or Addons you have and which are enabled
2. Your PC specs, OS (7, 8 or 10 - x86 or x64) CPU, MEM, GPU - Desktop or Laptop
3. A screenshot or video taken of the cable and object you are trying to connect to
4. Log files from Step 9 from here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/244030/discussions/0/154642901283546556/
