Yeah that could actually work quite well for your needs.

@Smokki You are welcome! :) I just saw your recommendation for the T6 Mk2 6x6 truck here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1662355572 on the AGI ATV-8 page, so I think I will try that.

@fluffybobcat24 Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you like my vehicles :) I don't often build vehicles that could handle such a heavy load, though you could try to modify this vehicle so that instead of those modules, it would have two small grid large cargo containers. It would probably require other tweaks too, but I could see it being possible.

@Smokki It looks awesome! You make some of the best vehicles on the workshop, Smokki! Your testing and tweaking of your vehicles before publishing them really shines through! Yours handle even better, without DAS, than other people's rovers handle with it! It is really something. BTW, do you have any rovers capable of carrying 2x Large Cargo Containers (Small Grid)?? I need something that can do cargo runs between my main base and a rotor-drill boring machine I build on a Nickel deposit a ways away from my base with this script: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1695500366&searchtext=automatic+drilling+platform
and I need to be able to haul a lot in one trip, without sacrificing handling and flip-resistance. I like your PV-6 vehicle, but it just can't carry enough cargo.

@Gdog900T That's great to hear :) Welcome back to Space Engineers. And Thanks for the information, that's really helpful.

I've just started playing Space Engineers again and one of the first things I built myself was one of these. I had made a modification to the design and added a trailer rotor, looks like I need not bother with my modification anymore! A fantastic vehicle that will continue to be the workforce of my ground ops.

As for the wheel issue I found a possible workaround. Jack it up on the pistons and then set the suspension to full out (-32cm) and it should then allow you to add a wheel. I ran into that same problem with not being able to weld those 2 blocks behind the wheel but then not being to place the wheel afterwards. Hope this helps!

@Echo Thank you :) I removed scripts from this but by all means, go ahead and add DAS into it.

Wheels: Unfortunately that seems to be oversight from Keens part. Some months ago they added the possibility to add blocks closer to wheel and of course I had to update this blueprint back then as it looked much nicer that way. This was never however updated to how projections work. You should be able to replace those two blocks per wheel manually after the wheels are built.

Connectors: For these vehicles with bottom connector, I use the setup you can see in the 2nd screenshot. Connectors in the middle surrounded by blast door blocks. Though there's also a small annoyance with the connectors. When I designed these vehicles it worked flawlessly, but in some update the behavior of connectors was changed and now the connector can cause this weird "locking effect" (even if they are turned off) when trying to park the vehicle.
Echo Mande 9 Sep, 2019 @ 12:57pm
Now this is a vehicle I can use . I've got two at the moment and will probably print more.

Two things though. When I print it, I cannot add the wheels without removing two blocks per wheel that I can't replace later. Also, how do you recommend placing connectors in the vehicles' parking spaces? I use a flush floor connector and drop the trucks' suspension all the way down but that doesn't seem right.

I'm also thinking of putting DAS on board

Keep up the good work and congratulations on having Keen use your designs and world in its trailer.

Yeah, I plan to release world or at least a facility to manufacture vehicles and modules one day.
A Psychopathic Rat 31 Mar, 2018 @ 8:15pm
If you made a facility that allowed for easy construction of this at the push of a button, I would subscribe in a heartbeat.
Smokki  [author] 13 Mar, 2018 @ 8:02am
@Thank you :) I did experiment quite a lot with it, trying to get it perform as good as possible in many different situations. I wanted it to steer quite easily without instantly flipping over, have relatively (realistic) high top speed and be able to drive over harsh terrain for example.

I actually have a world where I'm building sort of a "test track" that all my vehicles should pass before I'm pleased with them (slalom-test in high speed without flipping over, high speed impact on small bumbs to test suspension, enough ground clearance to drive over almost man sized bumbs, mountain climbing, etc.)

I didn't even remember I had my profile set to private, thanks again for informing that.

I think I would rather release small world with all the different modules and a facility (like on the picture) to easily change them. I could actually tie it with the test track.
TwinChops 12 Mar, 2018 @ 3:13pm
Uhh and mind if you "un"private your Profile ? I found these two gems because of one of Your Screenshoots and luckly you had a Workshop link for it in it.
TwinChops 12 Mar, 2018 @ 3:10pm
That thing is awesome, its handling is incredibly and you can litterly drive up any mountain

I like it.

Oh an a Tip for the different Modules, just connect all of them with a Red Armor Block so anyone know that block can be cutt a viola... you have all mudules in one Blueprint.
Smokki  [author] 3 Mar, 2018 @ 3:33am
@Janitor Thanks :) I didn't want to spam workshop basically with the same vehicle multiple times as I though people would rather want to just open the blueprint in creative mode and experiment with different modules themselves. You just need to delete those cargo containers and add for example large ore detector or assembler and you should be able to make a blueprint for yourself about it. If you want to, I can of course release some variants too :)

@k_medlock Thank you :) Feel free to experiment with different modules as much as you like.
k_medlock 3 Mar, 2018 @ 2:32am
Nice build! Love its modular aspect!
Janitor 2 Mar, 2018 @ 7:55pm
This trucks are super nice, any chance we could get a collection of them and the modular parts that attach to this one?
