Good news is the mod is finished (The bio module, that is. The synthetic module will have to wait a couple of weeks). Bad news is, the release might have to be pushed to tomorrow, since I still need to make a new page description and an updated list of traits, among other things.

Thanks! No worries, I've been less affected by covid than most.

I plan to release tomorrow evening. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to get to Robot/Machine traits, so that'll be released on a separate mod in about 2 weeks.

Still, tomorrow's release will contain 40 traits for Biological species (of much better quality than before, imo), with more associated leader traits than in any previous version.

Wow, was just cleaning out old abandoned mods from my favorites and I find this mod to be back in business, welcome back and hopefully covid hasn't hit you too badly.

Bear in mind, the upcoming version is a complete rework of nearly every trait. Many of the old traits are gone, but I think the new content will make up for it.

Glad this mod is getting some attention. There are plenty of trait mods out there, but this one always stood out among them. Can't wait to use it in a future run!

I haven't tried Stefan's mod yet, but the new version of XTE doesn't alter any vanilla files and thus shouldn't cause any conflicts. That said, they may or may not play well together in terms of balance.

No problem, I'm just hoping the Nemesis update won't break everything again.

Also, most leader traits are now handled through events, and will always be generated on relevant leaders. This will ensure much better balance and AI performance.

This apology will never be enough for the pain caused by the creator abandoning this masterpiece of a mod. I cry tear of sadness at night thinking about the wasted potential of this mod. The creator prefers to waste hi days jacking it to anime girl than to update his masterpiece. What. A. Shame.

I apologize for my lack of communications and progress. Truth is, I had lost interest in Stellaris quite some time ago, tried to get modding again a couple of times, and, until recently, found neither the motivation nor the inspiration to do so.

The bad news is, the mod is thoroughly broken (and even if it doesn't cause crashes, the balance is godawful). The good news is, it isn't abandoned (anymore). However, while I've started playing and modding regularly again, I don't feel comfortable promising anything after missing the last few deadlines I've set. Still, I will post a couple of teasers in the next few days, just so you know I'm not pulling the wool over your eyes ;)

I had another mod called Xenology: Traits updated 2.5, which seems to have vanished off the workshop. I still have it on my computer, but it seems to be a bit of a "flappy bird", and I'd like to get other friends to be able to use it when we play together. is this the version I should be using, despite its compatible version number being even lower?

Just chiming in for a Lithoids fix, if you edit the files to add the LITHOID flag to appropriate traits they should manifest properly for Lithoid species.

I'm not vested into the mod enough to get it done as you'd have to go through them individually, but it should be very simple.

It isn't broken for 2.7 exactly. Works fine with robots and normal species.
However, for lithoids it doesn't work at all.

Sounds good! But keep in mind that the free 2.7 update comes out in 2 or 3 weeks. It'll likely change a few things, so you might want to postpone release of the new version of your mod until then. That said, I haven't heard that 2.7 will change anything to do with BioTraits or Leader Traits, so adapting your mod from 2.6 to 2.7 will probably be low effort.

One thing I'd really like to see, is to have the old function of the Charismatic BioTrait restored. The vanilla implementation, before they changed it, was of course bollocks, because the effect went directly from "starting species" to "current political entity", but using the methods of this mod, I can see the option of having Rulers from Charismatic species having a chance to have a Diplomatic trait that gives +25 or so Diplomatic Opinion. (This would obviously affect game balance, and so Charismatic might need to cost 3 points, but the old version that gave +Opinion was extremely valuable.)

Ideally, the Charismatic BioTrait it ought to affect Envoys too, but given how super-simple the current Envoys system is, with the player having no control over which individuals (of which species) become Envoys, that would not make sense at all.
