Is there any way to stop the AI in multiplayer from spawning with tons of units? The game is usually over within 2 minutes because they send several tanks and turrets within seconds.

Yes, that is possible! FFA MPI has been updated, however, to only have 5 enemy AI teams to make room for more players.

In the features list it is stated:

FFA MPI: Allows a team of humans to face up to 10 enemy AI teams, or you can align some of the AI teams to yourself! You're going to need all the help you can get. Plans to improve this in the future will allow multiple teams of AI and humans to play against one another.

Is the "plans to improve..." part integrated? Meaning, is a match with multiple teams of AI and humans playing against each other, like stated, possible? I assume FFA MPI = every team is one human/ai player with a recycler. Sorry, didn't play Battlezone for a long time and wanted to jump in with a friend for some nice MP matches with AI. Thank you.

I was able to get it to work, I'm going to test it a bit more over time I think some FFA maps don't add ai but I'm not sure yet.

Apologies for the delay in my reply. I've tried multiple Instant Action maps with varying settings. Only one enemy recycler spawns with no AI. I also tried the steps you mentioned about MPI (I completely forgot this even existed!) and did get an enemy team to start, however none of the settings I chose actually applied.

The last game I tried was:
Player ISDF on team 1
CPU1 Scion on team 1 (allied to myself)
CPU2 Hadean on team 2
CPU3 Cerberi on team 3
VSR Level 1
VSR FFA map selected

Only one enemy team appeared and they were Scion, not friendly like I selected.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what's going on. It's strange because a few weeks ago Instant Action was working perfectly, then one day recently it suddenly broke.

Everyone, try this:

1. Select your map (in Multiplayer, it must have the prefix VSR FFA for multiple enemy teams)
2. Click on Map Options
3. Select MPI Mode
4. Click on Map Options again
5. Click on Page 3
6. Select the CPU (AI/computer) or players you want to play
7. Click on Page 4 to select team settings for the various AI teams

To be clear, we are talking about Instant Action or MULTIPLAYER MPI? Instant Action doesn't let you set multiple teams, but you can do that in MPI. It seems that Neo Cyrus's problem refers to Instant Action (from the Instant Action menu on the main menu page), which I cannot re-create on my end.

MPI (in the multiplayer environment) is something that I have not tested. Let me know where exactly you are experiencing a problem and what settings you are using.

Tried numerous instant games with different maps. All supplemental mods installed. Tried playing with different numbers of AI. Setting different team group/s. Only 1 AI spawns and does not play back. Turrets will attack but recycler remains undeployed.

Continued. Was able to generate 1 AI on the same team by using VSR level 2. Only 1 enemy AI spawned, even though 8 total commanders selected. When playing VSR level 3, game ended in about 5 seconds saying the enemy recycler had been destroyed.

Please help. Probably the coolest mod available. Can't wait to try it!

I just loaded up an Instant Action and it worked just fine for me - what settings did you choose before you started the game?

Instant Action isn't working for some reason. The AI doesn't do anything and only one enemy team spawns despite setting up multiple. Happens on all maps. Could you look into this please?

In any case thank you to all those who build it further, I bought the game for my son in 1998, I am almost 70 years old and play it everyday on this version. i hope it can be reaprered. Best game ever! :-)

Soo now there are no computer enemies, though they are "chatting". Also, a "path error" (or planner error, cannot remember). Thanks for trying, you rock!

The map "VSR: Heated Strat" is broken in MPI Mode. No matter what race you face (ISDF, Scion, Hadeon), the enemy recycler does not appear. You get several hadeon ODF errors.

Also - the Boxhead AI now is too agressive on the easier levels (Boxhead 1, etc.). Within 40 seconds, they rush your base with all their units. Not giving you time to think.

will you be fixing the Cerebri race? right now, there's several things broken with it (no sniper, fabricator gets stuck a lot around buildings, no satelitte with 4 key).

I'm not sure what you mean by "Longbows," but having assault tanks "hunt" is not enabled. Strategically, that is generally a really bad idea because assault tanks are intended for base assaults and hitting buildings, not chasing down things on the field. I know smart scouts will definitely hunt (and they are very good at it).

Is it possible to add "hunting" on the menu for units? Helps when playing against an AI on hard difficulties and you don't want to satellite everything.

its mainly just the adjacent ai, not sure if on FFA mode they do it to each other but yes they think they can make the jump. doesnt matter the race they will still try with hover craft even if theyre too slow. never saw that happen on the original VSR version on the pre-remastered version of battlezone which i found weird, though it might suggest something in the new codes?

Pay no attention to Feared 1. They were not a beta tester of FE. But came after the fact. The original Cerberi versus Fury were thoroughly beta tested by the community when FE was first launched.

They are apparently someone who came around after the fact that FE was built by the community.

Cool, thanks. I never really got to see much of them in the FE campaign back in the day 'cause I'd always get fed up with the game crashing so often before getting that far.

It's good to actually see what all they can do, though that huge tank of theirs is super broken. I look forward to the updates as you guys have time!

But thx for the info. I dont think anyone realizes Pandemic was bought out by EA. This game might be in trouble legally. ( Not VSR ) Mates, and the Pandi Devs always said they didnt care what we did to it, so long as we never charged money for what we modded. Now its repackaged. And I am fairly certain since Pandemic was the Developer. That EA owns bz2 proprietary code. GL with your mods.
